I made the mistake of buying clothes 1/2 way through my loss and wasted a lot of money! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. At the very least leave it until you're desperate.

I have 10g pumpkin, 10g sunflower, 3g ground flax seeds every morning with porrige. Just be careful to weigh as said above they are calorie dense, but healthy benefits

Soup here. Made at the weekend and into 400g freezer bags. Take one out of the freezer and keep in the fridge for next morning. Six mins in the microwave in the morning and straight into a Thermos flask. Still hot at lunch time.

Hi, thanks for all your replies. It is 30+ years since i've been this weight and am still getting used to the (positive) change. I actually don't see it as a problem as I'm doing this for me first and foremost. I suppose with my post i am tapping into like-minds with experience of 'normal' for a bit of reassurance. It's…

2 nights ago woke at 3am ravenous. Ate 3 low cal chocolate bars with a mug of tea. Went back to sleep, then up at 6am for work. Yesterday was a bit tough as i was 300cals down for the day. Not normal for me

This is exactly what i was doing before joining MFP and using a scale. Up to that point i didn't realise how BIG my breakfast was. A load of oatmeal is healthy until you figure out the calories to grams. I eat 25g every morning now. In the old days it used to be 5-6 times that or more (plus handful raisins, seeds, and…

Except if it's going to make you vomit! Hence why I don't bother with protein until after. I have had too many occasions of close to passing out / cramps to make me learn that food too close to workout = trouble.
-
I always take protein AFTER my workout

3 boiled eggs & 10g butter (mashed) 30 mins before sleep last night, all within goal

Porridge oats, instead of sugar, put a few raisins in there (I find 5g is enough for me). It sweetens it up and you get the benefit of more fruit I too am over my sugar allowance every single day!

Sunday roast yesterday for me was 665 cals and I definitely had the Yorkshire too! I could have made smaller portions of chicken etc but it's just too nice :)
-
My sugar is over every day, but i eat a LOT of fruit and veg

Hi, sorry to hear about your back! I imagine you are feeling pretty frustrated at the mo, not to mention the pain. I hope it alleviates soon. I too am on the backend of a disc problem, which stopped everything for 8 weeks initially. Dieting is hard when you are inactive as I found out, I hope you don't lose the momentum of…

When i signed up here it gave 1200 cals too. I had a bad back so no excersise and i didn't use the forum til 2-3 months in. I stuck to the 1200, but crashed after a week or 2. It's just not enough to keep you going. I then set my activity to lightly active to get my cals up to 1530. And that's how it stayed.

I do miss a huge portion of chip shop chips, large carton curry, rice :| Typical British bloke!

Hope this helps:

Kids, don't you just love 'em? o:) My 12yo keeps reminding me of my lack of hair, but there's not a lot i can do about that ;) Get yourself where you want to be. Think of how good you felt and get it back, you can do it :)

Bread, haven't eaten bread for months

Thanks everyone for your help. I have made a decision based on your advice - I am going to stick at 1870cals until I have 5lb left to go, then move to 2010cals which is my TDEE at my goal weight (according to Scoobys Website). I will still be lifting 3 times a week while all this is happening. Once I hit goal I will use…

loulamb7, DeSozo, thank you guys, this makes complete sense to me now :) I ate today at 1870 cals and it felt like wayy too much. This is going to take some getting used to! I read the first link from AnvilHead earlier and learned a lot :)
-
Thank you for the links! I'll be reading with interest :)

Hi, @AnvilHead Thanks for the info! I'm tracking my weight trend using Libra, I've been doing this for about 3 weeks now. I weigh every morning first thing naked in exactly the same place @Sued0nim Thanks, I bought my scale with this feature, but having read here I take the info lightly. I generally never really check bf%…

Excellent, thanks for your help :)
-
Forgive me, what does that mean, increase cals?
-
Just one other question: I am targeting a 'lean / muscular' look (but not to Arnold Schwarzenegger proportions). Will my macros be ok for my goal?
-
Many thanks for your help :)

How does this look?
