  • Hi @nosebag1212 According to my scale i have 23.7% bf @TavistockToad I didn't know i should be aiming for 0.5lbs per week for the last 10 pounds. I had it set at 0.5kg {1.1lbs) per week. What is the reason to set it at 0.5lbs? I'm still learning and have never tried to lose weight before. I used Scoobys Workshop to get…
  • Hi, It's great to hear you have lost again! I would use that loss and the resource here to spur you on; you are definitely going in the right direction :) I have read a LOT here about everyones' struggles whether it be medically-related, psycological, or just plain approaching weight loss all wrong. It just proves for the…
  • Wow well done for losing the three and a half stone, that is an achievement! Yeh my swelling can be bad when i've been on my feet a lot, and when it's really bad my foot aches. Like you, with rest and elevation it improves, but only til the next day :/ Mine came along strangely! One summer (4 years ago) I was sitting with…
  • I have it, but not bad. It affects my lower legs and in particular my left foot. Over the course of my weight loss i have noticed the swelling has lessened. I have a six-monthly checkup next week and i'm interested to see if it has improved any when they measure. I've lost 28lbs since i was last checked. Don't lose heart…
  • Exactly. I make home made soup - 4.5kg of the stuff, then freeze it in bags of 400g portions. I make turkey breast spaghetti bolognese with wholewheat pasta- 4.5kg of the stuff, then eat in portions of 400g. Every ingredient for each was weighed and put into the recipe builder. I know exactly how many calories i take in…
  • I bought a Nutribullet 5 days ago. Now making smoothies with fruit and protein powder. Wish i had done this at the start, its one of the best things i ever bought! Fast hit of a bundle of nutrients, and protein to make up the numbers. It makes me feel full too :)
  • I'm similar. On a night out where i know i'll be drinking beer, i'll be hitting the cardio to earn it. Recently i have been unwell and couldn't do cardio, but still managed to include alcohol infrequently and maintain weight loss. You just have to be meticulous with your logging and ensure over the week you're at a deficit.
  • Now it becomes a small meal - 70cals (ish) problem solved :)
  • You are a star for posting and well done with what you've achieved :)
  • Personally given the option, I wouldn't go for the burger purely based on the calories. Anything I eat is with this in mind: What is the bang for the buck? I mean for the calories you had in the burger you could have had a small meal if chosen wisely. Your breakfast, I too have porrige every single day. This is what mine…
  • Best thing you could ever do! Once you get into it and get fitter, you can change your route to add some miles. Building up slowly is the key and whatever you do, don't forget to stretch before and after your ride. Thing i love most about biking is that you see things / places you would never see in a car. Enjoy ;)
  • Back home yesterday and jumped on the scale this morning: 3lb gained. As said above some of this will be water. Back on the wagon now and looking forward to my body feeling like it did pre-holiday. The biggest overall shock to me eating anything and everything this week? Feeling 'weighed down', like having a heavy cold. It…
  • That puts it into perspective nicely ;)
  • I'm on vacation right now and started off in a food quandry with every mouthful!! I have resigned to the fact I'll shoot for as close to maintenance as poss, but already this week I have had some of the nicest foods, drinks and deserts known to man :# Heaviest day so far was a 4000 food and alcohol fest, but what a great…
  • I'm wearing 30" waist pants for the first time in my adult life! I'm 48 they fit well B) Biggest mistakes i made: 15lbs lost - Going from 34" waist to 32" - bought 3 new pairs at this size plus new tops in medium (uk) 24lbs lost - I have just spent yet again on 30" pants and new tops in small (uk) Wished i'd have waited a…
  • 10lbs with calorie deficit and gym (bike & weights)
  • Thanks for that. I think I'll do a bit more research and then make a decision. If I can use it for cycling I'll definitely get one :)

  • Is a fitbit worth it for me? My cardio is 99% cycling (when my health improves). I have thought about getting one but don't want to if walking is it's main function. For cycling i have always used Map My Ride which also shows calories burned against distance/time/elevation.

  • +1 ! Gave up watching TV about 5 years ago, best thing I ever did! Prob is with TV food combination - TV takes your focus, the food is just a side. Focus on your food every time, you'll enjoy it and appreciate it more ;)
  • I seem to be exactly the same (although i don't consider it a cheat). I have one night per week / per 2 weeks where i just go for it. Its like i can go so far on a deficit but my body suddenly says 'need banquet'!! Enter chocolate night / beer night / dining out. Once this occasion is done I'm back in the groove for days…
  • 10kg lost in 3 months. Next to zero excercise!
  • Think my maintenance cals are something like 2000. Went to Nandos tonight followed by Ben and Jerrys shake at the movies. 2600 cals for today, but tonight was great :) Back on it again tomorrow
  • My last couple of days have been horrendous, especially last night - I could have eaten a horse and that was after a large meal :| Not as bad today.
  • Too much information!!!! :D :D :D
  • I bought a set of Weightwatchers scales and they are about as reliable as a chocolate fire guard :) Even the weight can be wildly inaccurate +/- 10kgs, so I weigh myself 3 times to be sure
  • People come here for motivation (i most certainly do). If someone posts about how well they're doing, then good on them! It's nice to be able to go somewhere with like-minded people with similar challenges giving you some credit. I read about challenges and problems, but likewise i'm happy to read about success wherever it…
  • I hadn't been logging my vitamin intake, but after reading this thread i have started :) Logged for the last seven days and the reports look a whole lot better!
  • I chose sedentary initially, but it was so few calories I often failed through hunger and dizzy spells. You can juggle between which to choose (sedentary / lightly active etc) and the exercise bit to get your desired calories. I think my maintain calories are something like 2200, my calorie deficit is set to 1630 (after…
  • For the last 8-9 weeks I haven't done any excercise due to health issues. I have maintained my calorie deficit, even having blow-out days WAY in excess of my deficit goal. I'm still losing! Stepped on the scale this morning and lost another 0.5kg (1.1 pounds). It can be done but you have to be super strict, honest with…
