I also have a 5 month old. I've dropped some weight but could use some motivation as well. I don't count calories but do track my food intake daily. I range between 1500-2500.

I'm in the exact same boat. I was 30 lbs heavier after this pregnancy. I just started loosing weight and my daughter just turned 3 months. It's taken alot of walking and working out and a lot of disciple in stating away from snacky carbs ... Which are what most breastfeeding moms love a quick and easy carb snack.

I'm doing the couch to 5k right now as well just finish week 6 day 1. Keep it up :) my calorie intake is 1600 but I'm also breastfeeding a 3 month old. . . And if I'm hungry after the 1600 I still eat (which normally 1600 has me satisfied).
