THIS! Love it!

Wow you guys said a lot more that I hadn't even thought of that also took place in my household. Similar observation - I have a very large aunt and a very skinny aunt and I would stay with them over the summer (they lived with my grandparents). My large aunt loved to eat as a hobby so she would take me to many places and…

Thanks, joans1976! I agree - some people seemed to also have grown up with habits that had a positive effect! I talk about it with people (clients) because if you start tracking and counting and measuring before asking where some of your perceptions originated from, it can be really hard to understand how to break some…

I phrase my questions from the perspective of where I was when I was 40 pounds overweight, and also in the words used by people who still have weight to lose. I don't tell people that anything is off limits - that's why there are "" around the word shouldn't in the question/title. And no, I'm not an "MLM scam" - whatever…

Yes I agree with this!

I'm fine with it, now (I'm a health coach  ). I do have clients who find that socializing is one of the toughest things when it comes to sticking to diet, mostly because there are mixed feelings involved with turning down foods you want deep down, or feeling uncomfortable saying no to others.

I agree with Ricksh1000---stretching and yoga is fantastic! It will massage your organs and get your body digestive system flowing. Great way to start the day :) Personally, I don't like other more intense exercises like running or workouts in the morning because it feels like too much too soon. I feel more ready for…

Now, I know that having jealousy over slim people was just holding myself back from making positive changes. I'm slim now and eat whatever whenever - my tastes have changed and relationship with food has changed. One thing I hadn't noticed about my friends who seemed to eat whatever they want without gaining weight is that…

These are all amazing takes! The reason why I asked is I find that with my clients, most women fear that if they get slim/attractive, people won't want to get to know them for who they are on the inside. They could think something like "Gosh, that pretty girl can eat whatever she wants and still look good. But me? I can't…

Best to pick seasonal produce whenever you can! Connecting to nature in general is healing but choosing local is one of the best ways.

From a food energetics perspective, fruits cool off your body. If you have been having cold hands/feet or if you're the type of person who tends to need a sweater to keep yourself warm when most people around you tend to be fine, then you want to avoid fruits. It's all relative to the person - not about the nutrient…

Thanks! I'm a health coach now (lost 40 pounds and haven't had weight issues in 6 years). I think people want to make a change but admitting to yourself where you're self-sabotaging is really tough and you have to be open to that before being able to make changes :)
-
Ohhh I think this is brilliant!

Most people I chat with have some sort of underlying fear about changing their bodies - you might not think you do, but there could be something and it's worth thinking about. Here's some examples: -If I lose weight and look attractive, will people still want to get to know the real me? -If I lose weight and look…

Reducing light from electronic screens helps you go to bed better - and having good circadian rhythms helps with weight regulation :)

I think that the hardest part of weight loss is accepting that you aren't the person you used to be. You're becoming the person you envisioned! It's really important to look at yourself in the present and not compare yourself to what you were in the past-the more you disbelieve it, the easier it is to reboun…

I agree with SerenaMcD43! Probably don't need the clothes you have and don't fit into-buy what you're worth, now! Sashaverlene, what are you going to do differently this time around to avoid regaining?

I started taking hot baths, eating more variety of foods, and delved into macrobiotics-lost 40 pounds and haven't had weight issues ever since! Feel free to connect if you have questions :)
-
Yes, this is exactly how I would define it, too! You said it more eloquently :)

Haha I like how you say "mythical state"! Why do you think you couldn't last longer than 6 months?
-
Heck yeah!
-
cool, what habits are you happy to have permanently?
-
That's interesting! Why 5 years? If I think about it I don't think I've been in the same place (location wise) ever 5 years so I'll have to think on that more.
-
awesome! do you feel you've been making those changes?

I usually find that mosts people crave sugar because they had something salty before hand. Two opposite extremes. For example, it's really easy to crave ice cream after a salty burger. It's harder to crave ice cream after a sour pickle. Do you eat relatively salty/savory/heavy meals? Sometimes you just feel the need to…

Hi! I really relate to your story. I used to think that doing more exercise was the answer. One day, I saw a sumo wrestling tournament in Japan and overheard how they train - these huge guys train a lot by doing vigorous exercise and lifting these big guys, then eat (ravenously) and then sleep because they are tired from…

Hi! Warm vegetable soup is a great option - it can be filling without being too much for your body to digest while sleeping. If you want to add more protein, opt for beans which are also easier to digest before bed than animal protein which takes longer. A lot of people try having raw salads or fruit before bed thinking…

Hi! I accidentally posted twice and can't seem to delete this one - have a look a couple posts below :)
