I just started the Gla-d program. It's fabulous. It focuses on education, support and exercises to strengthen muscles that support the knee. I'm also very active, hiking a lot which I can't do now because of serious knee pain. I am doing 30 minutes though daily on the treadmill. Like you, I am being careful and not doing…

I am older too and starting to have knee pain. To reduce the pain, I want to loose even 5 pounds although I'd actually like to loose more. I was told that loosing just 5 pounds can make a difference. I'd love to buddy up with anyone who would like more support.

I'm a definite emotional eater. It's a struggle to stay on track. Reminding myself that just for today I can do this helps. Have been doing really well since Jan. But tonight lost it. Ate too much. Feel awful but this challenge motivates me again. Goal for sept- loose 1 1/2 pounds a week, and continue to walk on treadmill 20 minutes every morning. Thanks Beav73

I like the idea of stating just for today. It chunks it down, makes it doable. Just for today I will honor my body, not eat mindlessly, and work out for fun. Thanks for the thread.

For me it's eating mindfully - and remembering that calories count. I used to think that this little bite doesn't count or eating without thinking, putting things in my mouth mindlessly. But I try to remember now that yes calories count and when I eat to eat mindfully, enjoying and not just by habit for the sake of eating.…

I love your determination. You can do this!!!! Giving up is never an option. Me? I'm struggling with eating in the evenings - maybe it's because I'm relaxed, tired, or that it's just a dumb habit that really doesn't serve me anymore.
