[quote="Rannoch3908;c-45713713"any ideas for healthy, good, affordable ones?[/quote] Affordable? Does not exist. You are paying --through the nose -- for the convenience. If you want affordable you will have to do your own planning, prepping (including weighing) & portion control. Nutrisystem is probably the best for what…

I think a subscription service may be what you need.

I'm a big fan of eating when you are hungry. If I don't snack when trying to lose weight I starve myself then binge which is not helpful. So be mindful about your snacks. I would load up on filling low calorie things: a piece of fruit, a container of yogurt, certain bars (I found Fiber One because I don't get enough fiber…

Those max drinks per week always get me too because I have consumed that many per day too. :o @Fit_Happens_2021 we can't have one of those special bottle cellars / racks either. They get consumed. The people who successfully have them never run out of "drinkable" cheaper wine. That is not drinking less but drinking lesser…

Hi all! I'm pretty happy today. After drinking on Saturday I skipped the scale for my weekly weigh in as part of the Lose 10 lbs for Valentine's Day challenge but all that snow helped: forced exercise. I'm down over 5 pounds, almost 6. I probably won't be able to drop the last 4 by Valentine's Day but I will get close. I…

Yup. I bake when I'm stressed. DH isn't all that into sweets & one of my co-workers is diabetic so I don't feel comfortable tempting him with sweets so guess who eats everything? I have recently learned that two of my widowed elderly neighbors love baked goods so now I feel like I have somebody to bake for. I get my stress…

I'm late but even though I drank over the weekend, all that snow shoveling did me some good. Updated check in: SW: 168.4 GW: 140 1/13 167.8 1/18 165.8 1/25 164.2 2/1 162.6 2/8 2/12* Still not convinced I'm getting down to 158 by Valentine's Day but progress is something. I just have to get there because until I get below…

@CryingBlue keep small candy around for the cravings. Eat 2-3 Hershey's kisses; not too many calories. Made a plan for Super Bowl. That will probably involve drinking & too many calories. Ideally I'll get in a walk earlier in the day but we're looking at another storm

I'm in for a less alcohol Feb. Goal is drinking on weekends only instead of daily. We will be away for President's Week so I know I will drink then but that will be offset by outdoor activities. If I can stop daily drinking I'll feel successful

I'm proud of all of us.

I gave in & drank last night. DH brought home 2 bottles of wine & of course we finished them. I really don't know why we opened that 2nd bottle. It was nice to have wine again. That 1st glass was lovely. Had I been alone I think I could have put the vacuum sealer rubber cork in & called it a night. That 1st glass got me a…

Oooohhhhh. I NEED this! We organized the home office last week. Waiting on a contractor for some bigger projects but I'm in. May start with my office today

So the cold won out, as did the recommendation for cocoa. My calories were through the roof but stayed AF. May make it all the way through January after all Looking forward to travelling too. We are heading to our house in Florida for President's week. At least we can go outside there. Haven't really come up with a workout…

So close.... Sunday is the end of January. Yet I really want to go to the store for a bottle of wine. It's 17f out so I probably won't but I'm of 2 minds:. I'm so close but even drinking today is still waaayyy less than the daily drinking I had been doing. Help!

No need to apologize @AnnPT77 It was helpful. Assuming your avatar is you, you are somebody I want to listen to. So thank you!

I hear you. I was always underweight (& anorexic). I weighed about 125 - 130 until I hit 40. Then my metabolism started to slow. OK I was underweight so no big deal. Ugh that downward slide kept right on going as the scale inched upwards. Once menopause hit, forget it. The struggle is real. I have no answers, only…

Wooooo hooo on the weight loss to date! Good for you. Try sticking with the light beer. Find one you like or switch to something like the hard seltzers. Last time I was trying to lose weight I gave up my wine in favor of vodka & seltzer. I experimented with flavors until I could find one I could choke down. I don't like…

At 6'3 you are always going to be taller than most of us. Try to be happy of your height. I'm envious. Loosing 100 pounds is a wonderful attainable goal but maybe not by July. If you have 22 weeks to go & you manage 1.5 - 2 pounds per week & drop 30 - 35 pounds by July that will be huge! Loosing too fast on some crash diet…

Especially in winter soups & stews are great to have all week for lunch. If you don't already own one, invest in a big slow cooker. You throw the ingredients in, turn it on low, go to work & come home to dinner! I will also marinate chicken breasts all day & then throw them on a grill (indoor or outdoor)

Small portions but eat more often. Also chew more slowly. I'm on 1200 calories when I first started this I was hungry ALL the time & obsessed with food. I tried a couple of different things but what ultimately worked was drinking 1 bottle of water before I ate anything to make sure I was hungry & not thirsty. (Now I can…

I recently found Yogi teas. Peach detox tea is my current favorite. It's very rich & spicy. I don't really taste any peach but there's lots of warming cinnamon & cloves. Sleepy Time & Sweet Dreams (different brands) for a spearmint tea always soothe me to sleep. I add honey to my teas. I don't mind the 21 calories per…

It's mixed. When I don't have a good plan, that's when the overeating happens. If I'm starving when I walk in the door I will end up eating cheese & crackers. I love cheese so . . . calories. I console myself that like my mother I will never get osteoporosis due to all the calcium. My calories are supposed to be 1200. If…

Another AF night last night with no cravings. I am so happy about that! Am actually wondering if I can keep this up until February 12 when we will head to our other house in Florida to warm up. It will be nice to be able to get out & get some exercise. I hate all this cold. It's supposed to be about 15F tonight. It's 24F…

Welcome MFP helps. It adds accountability. For me another good tip is keeping the bad stuff out of the house. Two weeks ago my husband bought a bag of Cheetos & I ate the whole thing in 2 days. :o Try something small 1st. That always helps me. At the beginning of the month I found the lose 10 pounds by Valentine's day…

So happy to see everyone making progress. Yeah for all of us! @HerNameIsMischief -- good for you for not drinking. I can't say I ever drank hoping to get angrier. I have drank to calm myself down, which isn't good either. I agree with you that I find myself drinking out of boredom. Your step-father sounds like a bully who…

Yikes. I spoke to a cousin yesterday. DH & I had given him a 1/2 gal bottle of whiskey for Christmas. He advised that he's 1/2 way through it already. That's about 30 drinks in 30 days since Christmas but I know that is not all he's drinking. He seemed shocked but impressed that we were doing Dry January. Cravings have…

Updated check in: SW: 168.4 GW: 140 1/13 167.8 1/18 165.8 1/25 164.2 2/1 2/8 2/12* Found my fitbit . . . so if I really step it up I suppose there is a chance I can lose 2 pounds per week over the course of the next 3 weeks. It's just so hard to exercise in this bitter cold. Even the dog does not want to go for a long walk.

That video made me think. I want to schedule one of those liver tests for myself. Maybe that will be the wake up call I need Still disappointed that the pounds aren't melting off. I reduced my daily calorie intake by something close to 1 bottle of wine per day. That is a lot of empty calories. My food intake, even with the…

Sounds like everyone continues to put one foot in front of the other. Yeah for all of us. I'll try the apple sauce suggestion next cake. Thanks for that tip

@HerNameIsMischief Just a point of clarification I was using "revolting" as a verb, not an adjective. Please do not think I was insulting you.
