  • How would you compare 80DO with T20?? I'm doing T20 now and it's the first BB program I've done. I still have about 60 pounds to lose so it has been very challenging for me. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do next after T20 finishes! Maybe repeat T20 and add the bonus workouts? I'm not sure.
  • I'm doing Transform 20 right now in a beta group. It opens up in April for BBOD. I highly recommend it... it's 20 minutes, 6 days a week for 6 weeks with a step. It sounds easy but let me tell you Shaun T will work your body in ways you never dreamed possible. It's all compound moves and I've made so much progress in 4…
  • Grilled chicken, black beans, cilantro rice, pico de gallo, and half a flour tortilla.
  • I lacked energy as well when I started but it was because I weighed 220 pounds, sat at a desk all day, and made no effort to do any other activity. It's incredibly difficult to break the inertia of being inactive, but once you start to do that then it's a positive feedback loop. The more active you become the more activity…
  • I had a 160g banana once but I still ate it. It was huge and it came from my teacher roommate's leftovers from the school lunch program. Bananas I buy in the store are usually about 100g because I go for the little lonely ones that got separated from their families.
  • I don't think phentermine is a good idea in general, but stopping cold turkey right before a thanksgiving holiday in Vegas sounds like a really bad idea. If you can't stop or don't want to stop now to try just tracking on MFP, I think you should probably keep taking it through your thanksgiving week. There is SO MUCH…
  • I fluctuate up to a 5 lb gain some days. It can be a bit frustrating, but then I always try to look at the long term overall trend. Here's what it looks like when I weigh daily, all over the place up and down, but overall it's steadily down.
  • I have the opposite problem. When I visit my mother she thinks because I'm "dieting" that "bad" foods are off limits. She'll bring out something to eat and then pull it away and say Oh you can't have that. Which because it's my mother makes me immediately think oh yes I can, watch me! It's a mess either way. First stop…
  • I have one and I like how it automatically syncs with Fitbit and MFP. However I had been using a handheld body fat monitor and my first day with the Aria my body fat jumped 9%. Did it really? No of course not, but man oh man was that depressing. Turns out there's a lot of good info on MFP community about how these work!…
  • I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. And then there was that one picture where I didn't even recognize myself. Yikes.
  • That's my range, feel free to friend me to see my diary. If I'm hungry I eat and I'm steadily losing.
  • My biggest blunder probably was not being completely and totally honest in my food diary. Realizing I'm only cheating myself was really tough to accept, but it's made all the difference. Everything goes in, no matter how horrifying I think it is at the time. And that accountability actually helps me make better choices…
  • Because I'm more mindful about what I eat and I try to make my calories count, sometimes I find it difficult to eat enough. That's when I have my chocolate toffee or take a trip to Rubios for my favorite ancho citrus shrimp burrito! People ask what's my secret, but CICO is so simple it's almost revolutionary. I…
  • I'm 5'4" and started at 220. MFP also had me around 1200 but it wasn't enough for me initially. I'm active (increased a lot since the beginning) and I set my own to 1380 which seems to be my magic number. I'm rarely over that even when I earn calories through exercise but it all does even out when I stick close. If I go…
  • We have to figure out the mental part of why we got where we were to start with. Otherwise, if that doesn't change then *that* is what causes the gain again. Whether you count calories or do a fad diet or have surgery... if you don't change the mental part that started it you'll end up right back there. Having said that,…
  • I try to make sure I get healthy fats like avocado, nut butters, etc. because I think that helps the full feeling. I eat quite a bit of beans and chick peas sprinkled in stuff too, plus protein as much as I can. If I'm hungry I eat, I just make sure to stick to my calorie plan. Also I drink a lot of water and sometimes…
  • Big cardio days suppress my appetite too. I'll only force myself to eat if I'm still under 1,000 and I'll have a banana with a tbsp of peanut butter or something like that. If I'm at least at 1,000 I don't worry about. I'm usually hungry the next day.
  • Boo that stinks. I'm not premium either though, maybe they will update the android app soon. I don't ever go on my computer to MFP at all.
  • I remember when I did C25K a few years ago how terrified I was of the 20 minute run, because running a minute was tough when I started. But I didn't have a problem with it at all when it came time! That's when I learned to trust the training program. I went on to run a half marathon by training with a similar program. It…
  • Great job!! Looks like you are standing up straighter too! Amazing what a bit of confidence will do huh :)
  • Hey friends! I just saw the most amazing and inspiring post over in success stories, I think everyone could benefit from a quick look. This lady managed to explain my whole life struggle with my weight and body issues in one post. It was incredibly inspiring...…
  • Hey thread friends! I just read the most amazing and inspiring post over in success stories. This person managed to describe my whole life and struggle in one post. I strongly suggest that everyone go check it, it is very inspiring!…
  • Love love love this! You managed to put into eloquent words my entire life struggle with my weight, body issues and even identity. For that I thank you!
  • I went to Victoria's Secret to buy a new bra yesterday instead of Lane Bryant. And on top of that, I did not feel embarrassed to let the sales girl look at how they fit or help me adjust all the different ones she brought me. That's completely a first for me. And I still have a lot more to lose, can't imagine the…
  • The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. (And coffee! :D) There will be setbacks along the way, notice I said will and not might. The difference between whether you succeed or quit is if you get back on the path and keep going after that happens. Slow and steady wins the race!
  • I had another NSV today in my weekly staff meeting. I was sitting in the chair adjusting my position and I realized... Hey I'm off to the side in this chair, I used to fill it up armrest to armrest. I have lost about 6 inches off my hips but that was an unexpected reminder today! ☺️
  • I'm finding it a bit more difficult to shave my knees. Used to be easy... stick my leg out and straighten it and I had a flat surface to work with! Now I have an actual kneecap. I think that's only gonna get worse as I get to my goal!
  • I'm glad it helped! I've been freaked out and obsessive and I'm trying to be a little more forgiving on myself. I'm sticking to my plan even when it doesn't exactly come back down the next day. Sometimes it takes a week or TWO. I realized too that I did not get to this weight overnight, I cannot drop it overnight. Stay the…
  • I've averaged about 10 pounds a month, but as I get closer to my goal I am fully expecting it will slow down. The thinner we get, the less calories we need to maintain, so the calorie deficit that used to drop 2 lbs/week isn't going to work anymore!
  • Another weird thing for me is that I have these wild daily fluctuations, sometimes up to 5 pounds but not uncommon to see 3-4 lb daily ups and downs. The overall trend is down, it's just odd to see such big swings. I'm thinking about weighing myself less and see if that evens it out. I don't know if I can give up my daily…
