I don't drink but I ate enough junk last night to feel like I have a hangover. The center of the party seemed to be the kitchen island where people gathered, and where all the food was laid out. The lovely looking chocolate mousse cake is what finally got me. Sigh... Today's a new day and the beginning of a new year. I did…

At a family party trying to steer clear of the food table. Happy New Year everyone

Rise and shine out there... Pouring rain this morning. Ice fishermen were out on the ponds the other day, heard there was 10" of ice, but the mild weather yesterday and this rain will weaken it. Will wait till we get consistent below freezing to go myself. Intended a day off yesterday and wound up tinkering with piano.…

Steve, congrats to you and Connie. Many, many more to you.

Fog here this morning, but can see blue sky above and sunrise will clear us up quickly. Mild temps yesterday afternoon and today. Church this morning and then go visiting some of the GKs to see what Santa brought...

Good afternoon. Thick fog here, earlier forecast was freezing rain but I think we avoided that. I am deep in the piano pit today, delving I think where no man has ever gone.

Up ridiculously early, but crashed early last night, so I got 7 1/2 hours sleep. THe new norm? And the days are starting to get longer again. Some good news there Sam, hopeful at least. Will pray for you and DW in the coming days... Got the wheels on the piano yesterday, and stood it upright, was able now to easily roll it…

Frosty morning here. Spent yesterday with some of the fam, who think Christmas is celebrating football and basketball all day by watching other people play on TV. We did go for a nice walk around the neighborhood and DS fixed us a nice brunch. Saw friends who lost a daughter to flu and sepsis two years ago, for whom…

Not so cold this morning. Sitting by the woodstove with Rosie the wonderdog. She's a bit of a nut job--scratches to go out, turns around and scratches to come in, then won't come in. Scratches more and barks. We have a communication gap or something. Last night she went berserk barking as a coyote walked through the yard.…

Nice view of the mtns, Lee. There is something awesome about seeing those peaks rise up as you approach a mountain range. Cookies came out great and 10 y. o. DGS gave us a Christmas carol concert on the piano. He’s really come along (i. e. plays better than me). 4° here. Got up early to feed the stove. This big galloop of…

8° here and feels like zero. DD’s Bernese mountain dog likes to stay outside and wants me to come out and play…. I like sitting by the woodstove, the only place where I can get warm. Going to my youngest DD’s this afternoon to make Christmas cookies with my GKs. Ever vigilant we must be against cookies. Got the piano here…

Up at the crack of dawn with DD's dog, Rosie. Friends who had her last few days left for Pennsylvania this morning, and dog came last night. She got me up at 4 to go out. I took a loaf of bread out of the freezer last night and it has seemingly disappeared, wrapper and all--not off to a good dog-sitting start. Got DD's…

Dave, that'd be me with the cookies, or whatever somebody left with me. When people get me to take leftover sweets from a party or book club or bible study, if I don't toss them in the trash on the way home they end up in my stomach and on my waist. My old diet program used to say, your stomach is not a garbage can. I bet…

Exciting times—now we’ll know for sure Lee’s not a chat bot. Yesterday a Home Depot computer called and told me the truck I rented Friday for 1 1/2 days was overdue and to please return it. Then I got an email saying HD charged my credit card $1,100 for 5 days rental. I drove to the store and the service desk woman called…

G’Morning… House sitting till Christmas Eve for DD & fam. Her DH and boys are the ones who helped me move the piano. Nice house and yard, woodstove sole heat because radiant electric heat went kaput. Like a camping trip. House is all decorated with lights and tree and a life size santa who creeps me out when I forget and…

Cloudy this morning, not as cold as has been. Went to DS's (and EX's) house for birthday dinner for him, which he cooked. Roast beef, grilled asparagus and foil baked potatoes on the grill, plus sauteed scallops. He works in a pizza & sandwich joint, and likes cooking for people. Watched the Patriots throw another game…

I did check condo documents beforehand, got them directly from the management company to make sure current. Says, no music lessons. Instruments must be played softly after 10PM and cannot anytime disturb other residents. Black and white. I printed it this morning and will frame it in case anyone asks.

Didn’t get any pictures of the move in action but here’s the team.

Busy last two days, piano move went into overtime on Friday with DS (5 hours just getting it on a dolly and in the truck) With driving time and Home Depot rental truck snafus by the time I got it home I was it was so late we decided to hold over till morning. DD stopped by after I crashed in my recliner with a birthday…

Rain stopped and temp dropped from 60º to 30º so roads icy now. Condo salt truck came to wake everyone up 5AM with back-up beeper. Piano class this morning, then DD coming at noon to go with me to find a natural spring she read about in nearby woods. All's set for piano pickup tomorrow. Renting a box truck, meeting DS in…

Rise and shine... Rain this morning and all day into night forecasted, after rain Monday and snow last week, flood watch in effect. Hard to believe after months of no rain at all and not enough water to paddle local rivers. Funny, how looming piano move has forced me into doing decluttering I've put off for a long time.…

Good mor… uh, afternoon. At the clinic getting an echocardiogram. Every 2 years, checking on heart murmur. Freezing rain this morning. I spent it purging old files and am now offering family two file cabinets. Enough floor space for a new 116 year old piano. CEO shooter—Crazy world we live in.

Never got to test piano moving stuff. DSIL’s messages somehow got lost in cyberspace 48 hours and we never connected. Will try for tomorrow or Wednesday. Hopefully will do move Friday (the thirteenth?) or possibly Thursday. Concert went very well actually. There was a drummer, two flute players, a bassist and saxophonist,…

Rise and shine. Church this morning, then my grand piano debut -- playing chords for Christmas carols for kids in the town library. Been practicing overtime since Thursday rehearsal, but thank goodness there's also an organist and bell ringers who can drown me out. I'm wearing a Snoopy Santa hat and colorful sweater and…

Pearl Harbor day. Kids really need to learn civics and history, so we don’t repeat it. Restless night. Woke and thought it must be almost dawn and then heard the clock strike 12. Up at 2:30 and again finally at 4:30. Ughhh. Hoping to test moving equipment on DD’s piano today but haven’t heard back from them. Both are busy…

Mornin' Got about 6-8" of snow yesterday, now roads all plowed and sun is shining wonderfully. Will warm up a bit next week and rain Wednesday, so might all disappear. I love the snow. Meanwhile DD home of late from Hawaii is huddled in her apartment in trepidation. Prayers for Colin; hope they make him CEO someday. Off to…
