Not surprised; my understanding was that the healthiest fish were the smallest fish - because toxins accumulate as little fish eat tiny fish, then medium fish eat the little fish, and so on up the food chain. I eat a fair amount of haddock, and I’ll eat salmon as the protein on a salad. If the salmon is wild or…

No hypertension here, but I still pay attention. I’ll buy low-sodium foods, and I keep an eye on my salt intake using the Nutrition tab in MFP. I'll put some on a hardboiled egg (snooty applewood-smoked sea salt) but otherwise no. I figure limiting my intake is most things helps offset my craving for a salt lick once I…

It sort of confirms what Lisa (@Authenticity3) once said - “a plateau is that point where your desire to weight less is in perfect balance with your desire to eat more”. Nice to have some science behind it,

Interesting read, as I every so slowly adjust to a new reality where I don’t ALWAYS feel like I want to eat or am ready to eat. I was thinking it was me, but maybe it’s my hormones? Example? My wife and I were out at a late breakfast (Tucker's), and had agreed that meal was going to be both breakfast and lunch for us. I…

Thanks for posting a Friday thread. 👍🏻 I agree these are different issues. For me, I’d say hungry is the “I need” message and hankering is the “I want” message. Hangry is that treacherous middle ground where my mood and judgement are affected by those two divergent aspects of appetite. I tend to eat when hungry, but also…

I read a line on the WW Connect site that said “are your habits aligned with the results you desire?” Sounds like you’re there. 👍🏻

I was up last week from the morning I went on vacation and I considered it a win, even though I was technically in what I’d normally consider the Red Zone. I simply stuck with my plan, didn’t overindulge or shortchange myself, and weighed in last night at the studio back in my Green Zone. I believe I am back from vacation.…

Steve - you made me think of Kipling’s “If”. “ If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; ” I think the ability to focus on the execution of the plan rather than the results - the triumphs and disasters - is a key skill for weight management. 👍🏻

I think it’s more association than reward for me. Some events like birthdays and anniversaries have historically been celebrated with dinner out, and it’s less reward than just part of the event. And I do enjoy eating out fairly often, so a meal is a bit less of an event. Lately, I’ve sort of been using food as a reward…

I was glad to see they included water as an essential component. With prostate issues, I was being “frugal” with my intake, and it did show up in some interesting ways. I’m doing between 35-40 grams of fiber per day, and 75-90 ounces of fluids (mostly water). That seems to be the sweet spot for a productive morning for me.…

I hope you get a vest out of the deal, Steve! 😉 Seriously, though, that sounds both really interesting and intimidating.

Thanks, Greg; I’ll have to look at the NordVPN and see how it coexists in an Mac environment.

I do what is a close resemblance to half of them, but they’re done for flexibility and range of motion. Good to know I’m apparently double-dipping.

And yes, I saw that typo in the title, said “I’ve gotta go back and fix that”. Did I? Apparently not. 🤯
