  • Right now I'm focusing on getting back on track. I'm getting some healthy, low point, satisfying foods in the frig (I made a yummy creamy chicken soup yesterday that I will definitely make again). Also working on getting back to exercising by starting with moving each hour. And struggling to avoid snacking. @newmantjn…
  • @newmantjn we're in Hastings. Moved here after a lifetime the SE/SE Grand Rapids area, the last 32 in the same house. We have some awesome places to walk, but the super cold temps have slowed us down ... for now.
  • Congrats Al! Awesome accomplishment! Woot woot!!!
  • So Derek, are you going for a walk today? You could always start with just a short 5 minutes out, 5 back before dinner 🤷. Just a thought. Or do you live in one of the rainy or snowy states? The single digits and windy/snowy MI weather is definitely keeping me from getting out right now.
  • Btw, yes, I do WW proof my house, to some extent. For example, I don't buy chips very often because I have yet to master portioning them 😔
  • A guy in my WW meeting says the same thing! He finally had his wife hide the pb. He literally does not know where it is. And I should mention that the first week after she hid it, he lost 4#! 😂
  • I've found that really useful! I had some left from feeding delivery people during the pre Xmas season and had no problem eating just 1 bag. Yes it's more per ounce, but since I also struggle to eat a proper portion from a big bag, it is NOT more per serving for me!
  • We are getting dumped on, just in time to try to fly out at 6 a.m. tomorrow 🤦
  • How often do you eat pasta? I pretty much quit eating it. Points were just too high. But then, I found brown rice & millet ramon. It's 0 SPs on 💜. I like it much better then whole wheat pasta, and one brick makes 2 small servings, so it's perfect portion control. Making pho is my favorite! Was it never a part of your…
  • I'm on WW purple. It's been going pretty well, as long as I have good food in my frig. I also do some diet bets to help keep my head in the game. I've previously done PP, loved it and lost pretty consistently, and SP, hate it, weight loss stalled for a long time, then it just became hard to follow. I've also done keto,…
  • Thanks! It's hard for me to appreciate them, but seeing them laid out in the #10 thread helps. And I'm not gonna lie, I also very much appreciate the kind words, so thank you!
  • Yes, I think that's the same. Basically the flab hanging from the upper arm when you have your arms extended. They're kind of hard to describe, but I'll try. Extend your arms out straight at your sides, palms facing forward, thumbs pointing up. Rotate your hands so your thumbs go forward, until thumbs are as close to…
  • Looks fine on my feed as well.
  • Slightly annoyed at my small loss, until I came here and saw that I hit another #10!!! Finally!, But still pretty close to #1 a week, so that's good! (Tho I'd love it to go faster 🤷) Good week! Lots of moving. Not quite as good with the dancing and lifting, but I've been busy with the littles and tired LOL. I need a really…
  • Being mindful is really important to my weight loss efforts. If I'm actually thinking about what I'm eating, I eat much less and enjoy it a lot more! Unlike Charlie, I love WW's efforts to dig into the mind. It's my biggest problem! I'm certainly not physically hungry for everything I want to shove in my mouth LOL. But,…
  • Me too Emmie! Down 0.6 and trying to be content with it LOL
  • I didn't know that about anti-inflammatory meds! Thanks for mentioning that.
  • Do you DO exercise? Yes! In light of our meeting topic a couple weeks ago, I am an exerciser! What kind? Dfferent things... 100 arm pulses behind my back to tighten the upper arm wave, 3xs a day 😜 250+ steps, a minimum of 8 hours a day, try for 12. I do it for heart health (I think). Regardless, somewhere along the way…
  • I always get carded when I buy alcohol in the grocery store or our local liquor store. I'm assuming they're being extremely over cautious 🙄
  • I'm mostly on track Moving, mindset, sleep, eating Feeling so, so much better And not weight related: I am exhausted Grandgirls talk and talk and talk Oh sweet silence, sigh
  • I use a Fitbit to track steps. - I aim for a minimum of 8 hours w/250+ steps. - I often join workweek or weekend challenges with friends. I'm motivated to stay with the top of the pack. - I joined a StepBet for the first time 4 weeks ago. They access my tracker and determine my goals. I need 2 days of at least 9,500 steps,…
  • I'm in the drastic camp, always LOL This time I didn't just change my eating, I also added some gentle exercises that I've slowly increased, and also a little spiritual discipline too. In answer to Steve's question on another post, what's going to be different this time is I'm going for a more well rounded approach!
  • Me too! It was so cool!
  • Sorry so late to post! Bust couple days! Down 0.8#. Things are not moving quickly, but I am soooo close to my next #10 loss! This week is extra challenging because I have two of my granddaughters. That means food I don't normally have in the house, and I'm extra busy and tired! On the upside, I'm having no trouble getting…
  • @88olds that is a serious schedule! I love the popcorn as an afternoon snack! I've been wanting to do this (that's when I really want a little hand to mouth brainless eating), but with DH still working, it's not as doable, but in a couple year🍿🍿🍿
  • Welcome back Todd! I was on the GoaD board too (ViviansDD) and got close to goal in 15, then gained due to a health issue and meds. I struggled to get back in the game for 5 years and yoyoed, mostly due to not wanting to give up food and alcohol w/I restrictions. Came back in June '20, 55-60#s up. This has been the longest…
  • https://recipeteacher.com/best-damn-instant-pot-pulled-chicken/ I use all white meat, 2 T brown sugar, and no liquid smoke. And I always put in way more liquid with the pulled chicken then it says. This stuff is great in a quesadilla, so good over mashed potatoes, drizzled with a little Sweet Baby Ray's, or in Pho. DH eats…
  • Flintwinch reminded me of one other factor in starting strong, my tracker! Nothing discourages me faster then low WPs! In fact, I like to leave some DPs each day, so I can watch that number grow. It's one more measure of success (besides the scale and fit of my clothes). So obviously a strong start to my week is reflected…
