This time around, reducing the number of times per week I have take-out or drive-through food.

My anchor foods: light vanilla greek yogurt, eggs, salad fixings, seasonal fruits/veggies, and hummus. Foods I eat every day: Breakfast almost every work day is 5-6 oz of light vanilla greek yogurt topped with about a cup of seasonal fruit (blueberries right now) and 2 T. oatmeal. Favorite satisfying foods: This really…

No offense taken, countcurt. (I don't yet know how to do the copy/quote step.) I should have used jbrack381us's term "peer envy" rather than "pressure." What I have felt in that setting is envy of what I thought everyone else was doing, eating whatever they wanted in whatever quantity they wanted. Self-indulgent? Yes. As I…

Murple: True! I just want to believe that "everyone" but me can eat without restraint. My thin son and thin DIL lived with us for a few months one summer. I watched them as they planned meals for the week, as they exercised (runners), and as they snacked and ate meals. They were very careful about how they ate. They didn't…

I guess I'm old enough that I usually don't care what other people think about what I am or am not eating or drinking. And I don't think anyone truly cares, aside from initial curiosity. There are two group situations where I feel some pressure (definitely internal) to eat like everyone else. Or at least like I feel…

Wow! Sick or not, that is a nice number to see on the scale, Lin. And as you said earlier, you didn't dive into carby comfort food when you weren't feeling good. Good job!

Way to go, Jim! I missed my WI due to a work conflict. I'll check in next week.

Years ago, when I was one of the "skinny" ones, I was told many times that I didn't need to lose weight. I knew I needed to drop 10-15 pounds. I even went to a weight loss group, and was made to feel very unwelcome. This was when I was much younger, and it bothered me that other people couldn't simply accept that I needed…

1) Yes. 2) No. The SP program works well for me, when I follow it. 3) No.

I don't know the exact quote, or where I first heard/read it but essentially "Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Choose your hard."

Roasted chicken sandwich on light bread with hot & sweet mustard. Sides of garden tomatoes (sliced and salted) and green grapes. Plus Diet Coke.

DH is the ice cream junkie in our house, and I eat what he buys when it is something I like. His latest kick is Snicker's ice cream bars, which check off all my boxes for a great treat - chocolate, caramel, nuts. They are portioned out, rather than a big tub of ice cream. which helps me keep track of how much I am eating.…

Two summers ago we took our adult children, spouses, and grandchildren to Belize to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Dinner the first night, seeing the people I love enjoying being together, is a meal/memory that I would love to repeat. The food was good, but that's not what made the evening memorable.
