  • I love Turkey Jerky - but watch out for additives/hormones/etc. I'm obsessed with Nick's Sticks brand.
  • Yeah the Aderall made me feel very anxious too. It's just so hard to stop a binge when it's happening b/c the feeling of "crap well I've blown it all so now I might as well keep going" comes along. I literally have stopped myself mid-binge and to get out of the house for a walk. I had to forgive myself for it and realize…
  • Hey there - I know that this probably isn't the most healthy advice, but I would say if your planning on not changing your late nights, then it might likely be beneficial (for weight loss) to get back on the Adipex. I have similar issues with drinking and overeating. The things that I've found helpful are getting enough…
  • I work from home also. I make sure to eat first thing in the morning and I try to move throughout the day as much as possible. I also get hungry around 3PM, I typically go for a walk or a jog then and have a mid-afternoon snack which helps me not be starved around dinner time. Ideally it would be a protein/fat/carb…
  • 5'2; I try to hit 1600/day - but only on days that I workout for about an hour and a half. On days I don't work out I try to keep it below 1400.
  • I love hiking and recently took to trail running. I live in CO, so I'm lucky enough to have trails right in my backyard. I've been adding plyometric strength training workouts (40 min - 4x a week) and yoga to improve my hiking and trail running; which seems to be really helping!
  • I feel exactly the same way. Whenever I go on vacation, or even a day trip, I can't help but to feel awful about my weight (and the weight of those around me), it's something that is always on my mind. I still cringe when I go on trips to the beach or lake with friends because I'm not as thin and carefree (and I never…
  • I agree with the above posts regarding diet. A food scale really opened my eyes to the amount of calories I'd been consuming! Prior to weighing my food, I would track 1 tablespoon of peanut butter when in reality my one tablespoon was two. And your sister in law needs to keep her unsolicited workout advice to herself. Keep…
  • I have my activity level set to sedatary, so I track walking. I also use my heart rate monitor to track calories burned while house cleaning - but I clean like a mad woman. I eat back most of the earned calories, since my calorie goal without activity is pretty low (1200).
  • If your objective is to lose weight, I would suggest throwing in periods of a faster pace during your runs. Since you are just starting out, maybe this means to do a walk/run combo for 20 minutes, then keep increasing the time of your workout. I started running again after recovering from an injury; and started out by…
  • I too am not a fan of breakfast! For me, I need to eat in the morning. Since I love salty foods, I typically make mini smoked salmon wraps. Mini wheat tortilla, 2 oz smoked salmon, 1T cream cheese and some tomatoes or a roasted pablano pepper; which to me is such a treat in the morning since I LOVE smoked salmon, which…
  • Hey there! I'm pretty new on here also, you can add me! I've been recovering from an injury and found there are many low impact aerobic videos available online that offer some nice strength/resistance training. I subscribed to Barre3; it's a pretty good deal, for $10/month you get access to unlimited online workout…
  • Same thing happened to me, the first two - three months of recovery I was in too much pain and WAY too frustrated to eat. I had shoulder reconstruction surgery after a ski accident (6-8 month recovery). Around month 4 I was able to use my shoulder and the pounds started creeping on. I actually started running 4 months post…
  • Thanks to all the replies, very helpful information!
