  • I’m wearing size large tees and am pleased with the curves that show. I’m still a pear, but no longer a blob. If this is just 3.5 months of steady work, I’m eager to see what another few months will do to my body composition.
  • I don’t want to contribute one penny to billionaires’ pockets. It is insanely petty to want to be fit just so that I don’t pay into ‘big pharma’ but there it is. My quiet little rebellion against the massive corruption throughout the state of West Virginia.
  • How rewarding it is to nail a move in a workout that I believe I’m still struggling with. Really?? That was it?? HA! That’s where I measure the strength gained. I couldn’t do a push up at all a few months ago. I could lower myself fractionally, and then collapse to the ground. There was no in between. While I still have a…
  • Eric, you’re amazing. Well done!
  • I’m eating better on lockdown. I have complete control over all food in my environment, my family is captive, and no picky eaters drop in to be parented, fed and play with my offspring. Everyone is on board with loaded salads for lunch or sweet potato, broccoli and salmon for dinner. Time formerly wasted in commute or…
  • You’re doing a great job. I, too, made it to recovery week last time I committed to this challenge. I loved the progress but life happened and I dropped the challenge. This time, I’m a bit more conditioned heart-healthy wise, just out of practice. However, this time I have BeachBody whereas last time I was working from a…
  • Pure cardio done. Tomorrow’s workout will end my first full week of Insanity. It only gets more intense from here. To which I say, BRING IT.
  • I’m excited for you! Also rooting for you. Day 3 complete. I had forgotten how deep into the body heat rises from when doing deep stretches—yoga style. I think I sweat more today with cardio recovery than I did yesterday. This is also week1 and I’m decidedly round...so there’s that.
  • Well done! I’ve made it to month 1 once before but not further. That was years ago. My fitness journey has been going in fits and starts for a long time. I’ve just splurged on BeachBody On Demand and started Insanity. Today will be day 3. Mine is more mid-April challenge than March but I’m excited to restart this journey.
  • Yay! someone to journey with. The app maintenance that was blocking me finally ended (after my 5 mile dog walk was over, of course.) So I simply took the dogs for another as soon as I was able to sign up. Not far from meeting the Black Rider now.
  • Starting Weight: 217 lbs / 99 kgs Goal Weight: 32 lbs / 15 kgs Ultimate Goal Weight: 148 lbs tentative (67 kgs) Once I'm close, I plan to reassess based on strength and overall health did not join until 1/2 W6 1/5: W7 1/12: 213 lbs / 96 kgs. Have been getting daily workouts in and keeping within caloric range. Need to step…
  • CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT: 217 lbs. / 99 kgs Jan. 6: 215 Jan. 13: 213 (96 kgs) January Goal: down 10 lbs / 4.5 kgs, to 207. It's possible. It's visible. I can see it from here! Taking it one step, one week, sometimes one day at a time. My everything is sore, but I'm loving it. I already have greater flexibility. I'm eager…
  • I had the same experience yesterday. I was all set to begin my journey, adding a touch of adventure to the mundane task of picking up the back yard. 20 minutes later, I'm frustrated enough that my children notice my face and ask what's wrong. "I want to walk to Mordor while picking up dog waste." I'm met with quizzical…
  • Silly me. I thought I was joining this challenge only to find that I hadn't submitted. STARTING WEIGHT AND DATE WITH MFP (MY FITNESS PAL): No longer recall...I've been a lurker for years. I think I started around 220-225. CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT: 217 lbs. / 99 kgs Jan. 6: Jan. 13: Jan. 20: Jan. 27: January Goal: down 10…

  • My main goal is to reach a healthy BMI. All of those wonderful side effects, like increased strength and endurance, more muscle definition and easier clothes shopping, are good gravy. Goals are good focal points to build training around, but they're nothing without the work. Here's to a productive 2020. Hoping to see you…
  • Down another three inches. Eating lots of leafy greens, keeping carbs to things like 1-2 whole wheat tortillas or slices of sprouted bread, and snacks to fruit or raw veggies is working
  • Down another 4 inches over past two weeks
  • Down another four inches overall in the past two weeks.
  • I survived trick or treating!! This is a huge non scale victory for me. (Trick or treat was delayed to Nov. 2 in my region owing to flooding and landslides.) With a crew of 5 children and 2 other adults, we managed brief visits to estranged addict parents with minimal altercations, parents got their pictures and children…
  • @dreychida , we've all been there. The scale isn't the most reliable method to use. Writing down base measurements (neck, bicep, forearm, chest, waist, upper thigh, calf, ankle,) helps far more because you'll see incremental change weekly as long as you're consistent with workouts and nutrition. I've gone weeks at a…
  • Got in 20 min HIIT cardio. Bit different from what I had planned but feeling better as it was a start. Still within the 1100-1300 daily range that is healthy but lower than maintenance for my stats. Measurements soon
  • Yesterday's summary wasn't shared because I had another surprise day as mom to extra children. I managed to take younger dogs to a hilly park and circle around to climb a challenging hill twice; that was it as far as dedicated cardio goes. However, I am putting today's goals in here just for accountability: - I need to…
  • How’d your trip go?
  • Still within caloric goals, which is weird to me. I ate a small slice of chocolate cake some children had made in my kitchen, (baking is therapeutic for some of our young neighbors,) but because my appetite was deranged for a bit it actually brought me up to 1100 for the day and made the week overall better, as well. The…
  • I have *not* fallen off the earth, nor have I given up. I’ve just been neighborhood mom for a longer turn than usual. Will be on here again to post measurements and look for peace or inspiration soon
  • You can handle this. Keep in mind that you can keep within caloric range for the week even if you go over for the day. It's just a matter of more leafy greens and whole wheat goodness.
  • I've been lurking in this thread since I joined it so late in the month, but @mmccloy12 resonated. I'm not a single mom, but the struggle is real. Friends give unconditional love but they don't really care about the minutiae and are spectacularly uninterested in the nitty gritty daily struggles. I want to talk about…
  • That uphill push may have been a heavy calorie burn; I tend to underestimate the work I put in to be better pleased with the results later. Not feeling hungry at all. My body took a bit of adjusting to the amount of lentils, beans and leafy greens I've been shoving at it. I've been relatively healthy food-wise for years…
