Good question, Emmie. I think the positive part is what I miss from being formally on plan, and when I try to lose weight myself I dwell on the negative. I also think it's harder for me to be positive because of the "been there, done that" feeling. When it was fresh and new, tracking and making better choices was…

>How do you avoid these times from getting out of hand? I really don't. I'm waiting for motivation and magic, I guess. I'm not grossly overeating, but not tracking and losing either. Bill @myallforjcbill - my chronic back/butt/hip issue that has plagued my running for 8 years has now led to a lumbar spine diagnosis.…

I've never embraced WW's marketing phrase "it's a lifestyle, not a diet," probably because in my professional life I rely on words having a distinct, honest, meaning. If you're in weight loss mode, you're following a weight loss diet. If you're in weight management/maintenance mode, it similarly seems a lie to say you're…

I worked from home for a few hours this morning to wait out the heavy traffic on snowy/icy roads. Took advantage of the situation to whip up some scrambled eggs.

This is possibly the broadest LTL topic ever. ;-) Confession: I multi-task at every meal. Bar none. I don't think that's a horrible thing, but I do recognize benefit in being more contemplative and gracious. I've been working on slowing down and reflecting. Choices and portion sizes are obviously at the front of my mind,…

>Do you do it? NO. >How’s it going? NOT SO GOOD. >If you don’t do it, why not? GOOD QUESTION. I have excuses, but it probably all really boils down to motivation. >WW or MFP? MFP. I like it. The app is better than others I've used (WW and LoseIt!). Not a knock on the platform, but I get frustrated that it's harder to track…

Cindy, you raise an excellent point. I have a conundrum of sorts. I've never been able to consistently lose weight when I wasn't regularly exercising, but I know full well that weight loss happens predominantly in the kitchen and not on the running trail or bike path. I think there's an indirect element of focus in play…

I need to remind myself that there's nothing to gain by waiting. The whole "I'll get serious again after ___ or as soon as ____ happens" is counterproductive. Instead, get back in the fight, and keep chipping away.
