  • 38 yo sahm of 4 ... today was my day one (again). best suggestion i have is to get the kiddos involved. indoor walking - kids do with me; salads - kids help me make 'em; it's never perfect, but with the kiddos involved I get more done than when i wait for them to be someplace else so i can get time to myself to exercise or…
  • I'm here ... still yoyo-ing. Despite my best efforts I've managed to gain more weight than when I began last year. I find myself, once again, coming back to putting my health first. I'm one month into exercise and half a week back on My fitness pal and the struggle is REAL! I've been reading all the past posts in this WLS…
  • All curtains and sheers were cleaned and rehung- meanwhile the bright natural light was the mood enhancer I needed. I had energy abounding today; even got in a game with the kiddos :)
  • Totally rocked the Children's Museum with the kiddos today. Put on my walking shoes and even played with the bubbles. I forgot the step counter, so I'm not sure how many steps I took, but I definitely was standing for a full 1.5 hours :)
  • Bicycled outdoors 5.2 miles I looped from home to local Kmart and back home again in 36 minutes! Sitting less is sorta fun :)
  • Took the kiddos to the park today. Wasn't entirely active, but didn't sit either (stood around and talked to other parents).
  • Good day everyone!! Today I tackle the space under my desk (it's a mess!!) So... this challenge has been enlightening. I never realized just how much I actually sit each day. Other than at meal time, I've been making it my habit to begin most things standing (even if I last just 5 minutes or so). Listening to my body to…
  • I will stand at my work desk and read a full chapter each day (might happen in spurts, but each day complete a full chapter while standing). Watched half a comedy standing. Did a few squats as I stood there. I'm working on the outdoors walking part still. ;)
  • Looking forward to this (I'm standing at the laptop - not sitting - as a I type this reply :) Hello better health!! Marie.
  • Hi Profmale30s. I'm 10 years out, but losing weight (again) after a huge gain. I've been doing liquid protein for 3 days now. Yippee - I've lost 9 pounds thus far!! If you want an accountability buddy or some general support let me know. Best to you!! Marie.
  • Hi Erqueenie :) For me, I could feel the fullness after day 3. First day I crammed liquids down my throat every five seconds. I stayed full of liquids so that I wouldn't get as many cravings. I also stayed extremely busy the first three days to help take time away from head/mental hunger. By the middle of day two I didn't…
  • Had an Atkins Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar for the first time... As long as I've got one of these, I seriously never need to eat a regular candy bar again :o
  • I'm happy for you that you've been able to have such a wonderful transformation of body and mind. Your physical body looks great, but it's even more encouraging to read that you recognize the many health benefits that you've gained from your weight loss. Congrats and good luck on your muscle building phase. You're a…
  • Hi Steffi. I am so glad you posted this!! Seriously, I am there with you. When I am on MFP daily, my weight falls off. The committment to post my food and exercise are enough to keep me conscious of what I'm eating and how I am moving my body. Reading other folks' posts and learning exercise tips from them, keeps me…
  • Hi Steffi, are you still around? I was 'off' again, but back on track [again] today. It's such a battle to live this healthy lifestyle. It's not the taste of the food or the amount, it is the constant bombardment of unhealthy foods EVERYWHERE around me. That, mixed with always needing to be conscious about each bite,…
  • Hello, I'm Marie. I've got four kiddos between 2 and 17 years old. I'm in the same boat with you ladies. Homeschooling hero, fitness failure... slowing changing that, LOL :)
  • Okay everyone I missed logging last week, but I am caught up with my squats and ab work!! I've gotten into them enough that I'm sweating. I turn up the beats; dance, shake and move my body a bit and try to move through the squats and abs alternating every 20 reps. I didn't see any change in inches, but I did lose 4 pounds…
  • Thanks AnginCanada & Goldthistime. I agree with you both. I understand the carb thing. I just reset last week and have had the most wonderful low carb, high protein for a week strait. What are your favorite stress reliever methods, especially in the middle of an event when you can't break away to jog or do an exercise??…
  • Thank you 'workoutjem' for those helpful ab posters :) they're super helpful! Okay everyone official day 1 is completed. I'm tired from long day, but certainly glad I stuck with it Marie.
  • Hi ya'll... Okay, I got a bit eager LOL. I did some last night and today... Looking forward to the official challenge tomorrow. I'm decent on the squats, actually knocked them out 35 at a time in a few moments. The ab crunches have me troubled. Anyone have suggestions on doing an effective crunch?? Marie.
  • Ok, I'm in!!
  • Yes! I, too, failed myself in so many ways. In addition to not following basic wls guidelines, I also didn't take to heart the likely ease of regain. I thought that initial surgical weight loss was going to carry me to goal weight into forevermore... My vitamin use, getting pregnant within the first year post op, consistent…
  • Oh, and yes... I just had a woman at a store ask when my 'next little one' was due. I am NOT pregnant. My fat hangs low, not protruding outwards and baby-bumpish. I felt flustered and anxious. I simply responded with 'no, not again... no more babies for me'. She stammered a bit and looked down sheepishly. Although I…
  • Happy birthday and do NOT allow his comment anymore of your time and mental energy!! You're beautiful as a person and you're working on getting to the healthy body weight/size that you need and want. Your buddy's words are not who you are. I'm sorry for you that he wasn't able to be more supportive and friendly to you…
  • What's your goal? This morning it was motivating for me to write out my goal and to state why I wanted to reach the goal. I hope it helps you, keep charging forward okay :)
  • Just browsing the challenges and came across this one. Y'all are AWESOME. I love that some folks have been with it all the days, some stopped and picked back up and some are joining now.. I'll be in on an exercise challenge soon. Keep up the great work folks!!

  • Thank you for sharing this link. I'm following a very high protein eating plan and this is exceptional info, giving me plenty of alternatives to chicken breast.
