The terrible thing about this is that your boyfriend's mom is going to be running your life because you are with someone who is still controlled by his mom. Don't be surprised further along in your relationship as he continues to ask you to change your lifestyle to best fit his mom. Such as hiding a mini-fridge in your own…

Good Luck, I cut back to 1 tsp of sugar and use a little less creamer. If you take my coffee... I'm not getting out of bed. :( BTW, I found that I had headaches sometimes but it was because I drank coffee first thing in the morning. Now I drink water first, then coffee about one hour after I get up. I know that that will…

Then you're in the wrong place. I have found that keeping track of my daily intake of calories has been the cornerstone of my weight loss and what myfitnesspal was designed for. I can say "I'm eating healthy" and down an entire bag of apples and still wonder why I am still fat.

I'm not sure what your weight currently is but I was too heavy to run when I started. I didn't change my diet when I started (just adjusted my portions) and I also started bike riding and shooting hoops (b/c I love basketball). Just eating less calories and doing outside stuff that I love, I lost 30lbs in 60 days! I…

Preach it!

Personally, I am a spiritual person. I have found that my weight loss on MFP (45 lbs. so far) has come from a change on the inside, not validating myself with what is on the outside. Again, every person is different and I hope I am not being overt. But the true questions for myself was, "who am I?", "what matters most to…

I don't like them steel cut either. However, my wife bought a "flaker". It makes them the same consistency as instant oat meal (which I prefer). I also put a 1/2 tablespoon of strawberry preserves in it sometimes.

AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I drink a cup of coffee to end my night, everyday and I am down 31 lbs in 50 days. If I had to give up coffee, I'd take my ball and go home. :'(

Sure did. I keep my diary open for all to see

I ate 2200 calories in chips & popcorn watching football last night :(

Worst. Idea. Ever!

That's funny that you say bicycle. I ride 18 miles a day and keep a 500 calorie deficit. It's all about CICO. If you feel that you need to eat more that's great. However, that is you. It's a simple rule. Don't starve yourself and DONT EAT for the sake of eating. Don't complicate it buddy! BTW, my diary is open if you would…

^This is wrong^ As long as you are not starving yourself, NO. However, if you find yourself hungry, eat. You should not feel shame in eating extra but don't do it if you don't need it

You can do it! I started at 281lbs and am currently at 250lbs in 6 weeks. Just the other day, I was running around with my son and he stopped because HE was tired. That had never happened to me before

Started at 281 and I am currently 250. My goal is 220. I have been at it for 45 days. Keep logging, even when you slip. Remember that there is no shame in eating. Don't cheat yourself and good luck. BTW, my diary is open if you would like to take a look. I have found that my "sweet spot" for weight loss is between 1400 -…

I am also a Believer in Christ. I have been @ this for about a month. It's encouraging to see so many brothers and sisters in Christ. Add me and I pray the Lord will bless your commitment.

I tried this... I was just HUNGRY and cheated. I wound up putting on weight because I was always hungry :(

I agree. We normally don't save the food anyway because people have been "picking through it". We host a lot of big BBQ's too. Sometimes I make extra for my family but I always pack that up immediately. We don't count on the leftovers for extra food.

I want chocolate glazed donuts and a bag of Lay's Munchies :D

I agree with the law of thermodynamics, if we burn more than we take in we will definitely lose weight. However, if we are not mindful of what we take in it may have negative effects. We don't want to cannibalize lean muscle and store fat (the body will do that in an unhealthy diet). That is why if we "come off" a diet…

THAT IS NOT TRUE.. There is no tricking of the body and the point to just "lose weight" will not have long-term results. Our bodies were designed to process certain foods to do specific things. The idea that oatmeal will have the same effect on your body as chicken because "it's all calories" is preposterous. Nobody should…

Hey Sophie, counting calories is not the main thing. It is important to TIME your calories correctly in the day to help your metabolism. For example, popcorn in the evening may have little calories but you should try to eat ALL your carbs before the evening. Mornings should be HIGH Carb, little protein and fat, midday…
