With the Mac and cheese, does the yogurt curdle when you mix it in? I've had issues using Greek yogurt in hot dishes I don't like it super hot so I usually just stir it in at the end. I use plain yogurt, not greek, though this is getting harder to find.

I cut out endless snacking, and most desserts. I substituted sherbet for ice cream.

I keep a jar of natural chunky peanut butter at the office as a "backup" and have a wheat bagel with PB for lunch a lot the time. Other days, I bring salads or sandwiches.

Foods have been "genetically modified" for hundreds of years via selective breeding. That's why the bananas we eat have no seeds, the tomatoes we eat (unless grown in the garden) have harder skins to survive transport, etc. The big difference now is that the modifications are being made directly vs. via breeding.

Agree. Few people seem to care about audio quality anymore, though.

This is Reina (black lab) and Coquita (beagle/dachshund mix). They're best friends most of the time and usually sleep spooning each other.

* People who pull out in front of you at an intersection, forcing you to slow down, only to then go below the speed limit themselves. * How every #*$&#$# movie now is mainly blue and orange in hue. There *ARE* other colors available. * Co-workers who schedule meetings during lunch. Luckily my boss said I could decline…

Fountain of Sorrow and Before the Deluge are two of my favorite songs.

Yes, and they spoon with each other!

I'm in for 90 miles, or 3 miles a day but am going to really try for 120 or 4 miles a day

My cheat days are pre-planned: Valentine's Day, Easter (big family dinner), my mom's birthday (another big family dinner), my birthday, Halloween (extra candy), Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve

Walking is ABSOLUTELY exercise. I had some minor surgery and have been restricted to walking as exercise temporarily and am still losing weight walking five miles a day vs. the cycling or running I would normally do. Plus, my dog LOVES it and it's good for my spirit to see her so happy so I may just continue with it a…

My diet Minute Maid lemonade (5 calories) and diet root beer (0) have helped TREMENDOUSLY with cravings and weight loss. I don't like drinking plain water and never did. Switching from fruit juices to diet drinks has cut about 250 calories a day out of my diet.

Candy corn is the top selling Halloween candy, with Americans purchasing 20 million pounds of it per year.

Yes, especially if you take time to really savor what you are eating vs. just sitting in front of the TV shoveling it in. Before I grab a snack now, I stop and say "do I really need or want to eat this?" Sometimes the answer is yes, other times no. Previously I would just eat mindlessly for no real reason. It does get…

When I was a little kid, my grandmother would hustle me inside whenever there was a squirrel nearby. She told me that they had rabies and if one bit you, you had to get ten shots with a foot long needle directly into your stomach or you would go insane. I have an irrational fear of squirrels to this day. When I was…

I've been meaning to play Skyrim for years but so many other games keep distracting me.

A hybrid will do OK on a trail that's also a hiking and/or horse trail, i.e. dirt trail that is fairly packed down without a lot of rocks, but for mountain biking trails you absolutely need a mountain bike.

I'm so lucky I don't like pie or I'd never make it through the upcoming holidays. I do love cake, though. Mmmmm....cake

Hi all. New to the group. 56 y/o here and generally healthy living has kept me free of any major problems so far, though I've gained some weight I'm working on losing now. My favorite exercises are bicycling and hiking. I go to the gym for upper body but hate exercising indoors. My fitness goal is to be able to continue…

@Tomm88 you probably know this already, but the Nuka World DLC for Fallout 4 just came out yesterday. I won't wreck it, but it's a very different premise from the rest of the game.

I loved Bioshock! I'm currently playing Minecraft for Oculus Rift (Virtual Reality): SO much more interesting in VR Deus Ex Mankind Divided (playing stealth, no kills--this game requires a lot of patience but is very rewarding) Fallout 4: melee specialization, Nuka World expansion just came out yesterday!

I base a lot of my dinners on veggies cooked in a frying pan with 1 tbsp of olive oil. Then you either add chicken, turkey, shrimp, tofu or lean beef; a reasonable sauce (barbecue, Asian ginger, enchilada, chipotle, etc.) and serve the entire thing over brown rice, quinoa or whole wheat pasta.

I'm starting to get an unsettling feeling that this is going to happen to me down the road as I watch them do nothing but come home from work and watch six hours of TV and snack while I head out on my bike, hike with the dogs, etc. I hope not, though, but can't be a nag because each person has to decide to become healthy…

I second @cwolfman13's answer. Go to a good local bike shop, NOT a chain store. You'll know it's good because they will discuss the different types of bikes and riding with you, they will find a bike that fits you properly, and they will let you test ride it. If you're not sure of a road, hybrid, or mountain bike try to…

A meta haiku Refers to itself again In an endless loop There once was a man from Nantucket ... oh, wait, nevermind that's a limerick not a Haiku

It sounds like palpitations but could also be early signs of going into afib (not life threatening if treated). Two things that work for me are coughing hard a few times, or pressing down as hard as you can as if you're trying to have a bowel movement. Both of these things cause your heart to go back to normal unless you…

I grew up there and go back frequently. The subways are fine. They carry 4.3 MILLION people a day and have a handful of incidents. They're much cheaper than Uber and cabs. If you've never been to NYC and don't want to take chances with hotels that may or may not be good, stay at the Marriott on 92nd street on the upper…

I make my own healthier version. A whole wheat English muffin, a slice of muenster cheese (not healthy, I know) and two eggs cooked in a burger patty ring. Close enough.
