What does everyone think of the Operating System update for the Fitbit Ionic?
It's taking me awhile to get used to the "Exercise" button being moved from the lower right to the upper right, but, overall, the watch seems a lot more responsive since I updated it. I also really like the "today" app.

Treadmill vs. street running
With winter coming, I'm probably going to have days when I'm running on a treadmill instead of outside. Given that a treadmill is easier (or seems easier at the same pace, anyway), how much faster should I run on a treadmill to keep the exercise the rough equivalent of street running?

Running advice for new runner
Hi all, I'm a 57 YO guy who has been cycling my whole life, but I've decided to start running because I work near a Lake that is exactly 5K around so why not! I downloaded an app that's supposed to take me from 0-5K in 8 weeks. The first day was 1 minute run, 2 minute walk, etc. I'm now on week 6, 5 warm up, 10 minute run,…

What are your small weight loss hacks?
I've been parking in the lot half a mile from the office so I have to walk an extra mile a day to and from my car. I also park on a higher floor and use the stairs instead of the elevator. What are your small weight loss hacks?

Calorie budgeting day vs. week
I buy 8 oz of smoked salmon and eat it over four days, so I just put in 2 ounces a day instead of weighing it figuring it all events out, but this got me thinking ... Would tracking calories on a weekly basis, say 14,000 a week vs. 2,000 a day, still work? Or is there something special about daily calories vs. tracking…

Modifying Comfort Food for Weight Loss
I don't want to give up my comfort foods so I've modified them a bit to help me lose weight. Here's a couple of my favorites and how I've changed them. All of these were 900+ calories before and now they're about 600 with minimal modification. Anyone else have something similar? =============== TURKEY, MASHED POTATOES,…

Garmin Connect Fitness Adjustment?
Every few days, I'll see 100-200 exercise calories pop up that say "Garmin Connect Fitness Adjustment". Does anyone know what these calories are? Can I actually eat them and still stay on plan or should I ignore them? Thank

Create a Ridiculous Diet
There are so many terrible diets out there I thought it would be fun if we got creative and invented our own. Here's mine: Sun Chicken Diet Take one raw chicken breast and leave it sitting in the sun for at least two days. Eat the raw chicken breast. Once you have lost the desired amount of weight, go to the hospital ASAP.

Does scrambling two eggs really double their calories?
I've noticed that if I put two eggs into the tracker, such as poached, it's about 150 calories but if I slelect "scrambled" then the calorie count jumps to 300 or more. I'm assuming that, as long as I use cooking spray and just a dash of water to make the eggs fluffy that the calorie count isn't really that high. Is is…

I seem to always go at least double the RDA, but my blood pressure is low-normal usually from 100-120 over 50-60. What are some other reasons to eat less sodium?

Hi All
Hi all, SF guy who lives at the base of San Bruno Mountain. I'm very active--biking to the summit (1K climb 2x a week, 5K 2x week, walk the dog an hour a day, etc.) but, unfortunately, I've been eating way too much. At my job, there are always conferences and meetings where meals are provided--very high quality stuff so…
