haha -->>TRUTH! The herd is always looking for that magic pill that's going to make results happen without the work.

I eat three bananas every day, and oh, by the way, you die without sugar. Were you aware of this? Yes, too much is bad just like too much sun is bad, but try living without the sun... :p

There is much in life I'd do differently, but maintaining weight is as challenging as losing weight. Most just don't do it and gain all their lost weight right back. :'( Get your mind fixed on the reality that nothing worthwhile in life comes pain free for most of us. It's kind of simple but very hard.

Not every strength training routine need follow the conventional route. Some are just not cut out for weight lifting in a gym Yes, strength training is hard. The results are either worth it to us or not. Nothing good in life comes pain free, and this same principle applies to those immersed in weight lifting with zero…

I am having a painful wave of cravings as I write this. What this tells me is that my body is shifting into fat burning mode. Instead of eating, I am about to go HIIT Training followed by a planned, nutritious breakfast a few hours later. I expect this now. Once I began seeing results of fat loss over time, my view of…

Question: What about the fuel for the energy represented by the calorie burn? How does one shift the odds of that being derived from stored fat as opposed to sugar? I am studying info that is scientifically inconclusive and contradictory. Just wondering your take on it given your obvious knowledge.
-
I could do without the added sugar, but whatever. I mix mine with raw coco powder and use it in my smoothies.
-
Oh yes! :o I totally feel you... I just set a weekly weight goal and make weight as always, allowing myself a 4 pound margin either below or above my "maintain" weight.
-
How about igniting your own passion and hit the gym for some strength training?

As a fighter, my coach forced me to jump rope, and today, I still endure do this, because the body adaptation seems to be fat loss. The problem is the repetitive nature of the exercise, so I seek to include 10 minutes of rope jumps before a run or plyometric session. Here's the kicker: when I skip this, my body fat begins…

I was tested some years back and my levels were 13 --> and normal was 20 I have no clue what units these are, but that's low. I took a supplement but now try to get out in the sun for about 20 minutes every day without the protection of sunscreen or clothing. During cloudy days and dark seasons, I supplement again. It's…

I eat back all of my exercise calories, but I had to tweak the food intake numbers as well as exercise burn. Once I found my zone, all went well. It became a simple daily math equation. Calories eaten vs calories burned. I lost 110 pounds total, and my average weekly weight loss all that time was .73 pounds per week. Just…

That's the way to do it. I am sure is was a terrific event. Have a great Sunday! :)

She needs email addresses to sell stuff. MFP doesn't allow that in these forums. >:) Sneaky - huh?

I wish there was a way to spot reduce...but nope! And as I said before, the way these bogus cures are pitched, it surely must be possible - right? Sorry, don't waste your time or money. General, overall body fat reduction is the only way, and the last place the lard gathers is usually exactly where you'd most like it gone.…

I sure wish there was a way to spot reduce, but sorry! :'( Spot reduction not a possibility, but one would never know considering all the bogus products being sold that claim to do just that.

WHAT! :# I thought I invented it...

WOW I had to google that...lol I just downloaded "Epic-Dubstep-Mix--Bass Boosted" That's great stuff! B)

Really? I was hoping my diet would gain me acceptance into the exclusive world of low carb communities... Oh well.. This I know, I could not go any lower without stifling my overall energy levels, but whatever, if somebody gets results doing something, cool!
-
I keep carbs to around 40% of my overall food intake. They still make up the largest portion of my macros as I balance protein and fats at around 30% each. Some consider that "low carb", but it gets results in that I have goals of fat reduction while maintaining weight. Further, most of my carb intake is veggies and…

Wow, thanks all for sharing... :) Rob Clary - Age 52 5 foot, 10 inches... Body Fat: 15% ---->>Goal: 10% I lost over 100 pounds and have been in weight maintenance for a while. My goal in maintenance has been around 170 pounds. I usually cut weight as low as 166, then engage a slow, clean bulk up to 174. My goal these days…

I absolutely can NOT perform pull-ups or chin-ups daily. I get tendinitis along the inner forearm just below the elbow. I think this is called "golfer's elbow" which only compounds the insult...lol Maybe you're able to handle it, but if you began to feel pain in those areas, STOP! It took me months to fully recover, and I…

haha - so true! And you can also tell much about an establishment by virtue of what they sell in the restroom vending machines - OUCH - and I'm still stealing their water! B)

If I go out, I'm usually skipping anything healthy, but something fishy and broiled with veggies would work. As for unhealthy, just point me in the direction of an Asian buffet and try not to wonder into my path. >:)

I refill my water bottle from their sink....

All 5 of my kids received the HPV vaccine...even though it's totally not necessary. They'd never ever.... :o oh yes they would!

It sounds like you're doing what you're able to do. Keep at it. And folks are right about keeping your doctor up to speed about any issues.

As with anything, you develop notions of value and see the activity as beneficial and enjoyable. This comes in time, but starting out, you "just do it". Soon, your problem will be the same but in reverse. Some learn to love training so much taking that rest day becomes the act of will and self-discipline. Weight training…

I'd usually eat once, and about half into my shift, I'd sneak in some exercise. I can mask a full body calisthenic routine out of nothing on the night shift.
-
I was just like that but with ice cream instead of veggies. And yes, you're odd....and you'll probably live to celebrate your 120th birthday...lol Keep enjoying those veggies!
