I run 3 miles right before a full body workout with weights, and I usually take two days off from both activities. I call my non-training days "working rest"...and on those days it's swimming and hiking barefoot in the woods. Your frequency would depend on your overall goals.

I did it...and so can you!

When I booze, I release certain inhibitions...and the results are never good. Some folks can drink in moderation, others just don't. I had to give up alcohol totally in order to reach my goals. In life every act we engage either moves us closer to our goals or further away. So, that was that, and I went on to lose 110…

Why empower the government and reduce freedom ? If people want to eat junk, so be it, but don't come back when you're fat and sick demanding free healthcare. That's so typical of the herd...lol

Yes, if all one is interested in is mere weight loss, eat whatever but in a deficit. Some of us are interested in weight loss along with optimal health and wellness. And for such people, what you eat matters greatly!

And on video, I look something like... https://www.youtu.be/watch?v=yA0Ai-jriq0

The days I struggle the most are days I live without a plan. And that's true for fitness/health as well as business, emotion management, personal relationships, real estate investment and driving to some unfamiliar address. Planning works... :)

WELL DONE :)

I do, but I had to make up some numbers for calorie burn that seemed close, and after some minor tweaking, I got in the zone. Now, I always use my own numbers for exercise calorie burn with both cardio and strength.

When weighed against the future costs of illness and disease, eating healthy is cheap. You need to look at the expense and an investment, and you either see value in that investment, or you don't. People who reach potential have that unique ability to think forward while most of the herd can't think too far past this…

You're the one who brought up the subject - not your husband. And of course he wants you to lose weight. Most people married to an obese spouse want them to lose weight for health reasons as well as other factors. They usually just don't say what they've been thinking all along, because to give unsolicited advice on weight…

Plan on losing 2 pounds. That's 1 [one] pound per week. And continue that week after week until you reach your goals. That's the smart path to steady, safe and lasting results. The "fast weight loss" road is a fast lane to failure. Just decide whether you're really willing to make health and weight management a priority…

I changed in an instant due to the medical realities associated with my obesity. The chickens had come home to roost. :o Another motivation were various pictures that totally revealed how fat I was, and that bothered me as well. Being "tagged" on FaceBook crushed my delusion that, though a bit heavy, I carried it…

I plan them or else run the risk of losing control. I am weak when it comes to diet. I need those weekly cheat meals... >:)

My experience is yes. I fast from 8pm until 12pm - a 16 hour daily fast. Again, I seemed to have gotten results, but my fasts include clean eating, calorie control and regular exercise. My belief is that Intermittent Fasting aids in fat loss. The science is fuzzy, and just let the egg-heads debate. Try it for yourself, and…

Some years back my biggest challenge after several leg injuries were squats and dead-lifts. And while my lower body recovered and healed, I worked upper body and developed an imbalance worthy of being poster boy for skipping leg day.

I have a cheat meal a few times per week. I can't really explain why they don't affect me too much. My doctor tried to explain it, and all I heard was blah blah resets metabolism blah blah energy balance blah blah re-feed days are good...blah blah psychologically helpful... ;) Whatever... My free days were about 2000…

For lasting, steady and safe results, you eat well but in a deficit. And you take it slow. Too often people over-reach with low calorie crash diets that work great for a season then crater your results and stifle your metabolism. This is why most people regain lost weight. If you decide to be a part of that herd, fine!…

I can make most gyms work well, but my deciding factor is walking distance. I never, ever want to drive to a gym to walk on their treadmill. Part of my exercise routine is what I do on foot in route.

Our diet and training program merely produces body adaptation according to nature's laws. And nature doesn't care how busy we are or what we think about anything. Nature just is. B) JUST DO IT!
-
This is a fine routine, and the results you produce will validate its specifics. You may need to make course adjustments from time to time when it comes to diet and training. That's normal. Best of luck to you...

At my best I run a 9 minute mile, and it's not about how fast I go but the results it produces. You're out there, so keep exercising and eating well, and in time, you will also see great results. :)

haha - Judy, you're reading my mail... :) COUNT ME IN!

I get contacted about every 6 weeks from somebody I might not have heard from in years. It's gotten to where I can smell the deception.
-
YEP I get questioned by most everybody I meet who desire whatever "secret" I have discovered. Nobody wants to hear about intense effort, discipline or sacrifice. That doesn't sell...

I can't answer your direct questions, but I know much about self-employment. Just stay motivated and keep moving forward as though you're the owner of the most exclusive facility around. People respect a positive, self-assured professional and are drawn toward one who is upbeat and inspirational. GOOD LUCK! :)

Great point...and the herd will stampede to whatever seems easy and quick.

When it comes to physical fitness, what takes me 4 weeks to achieve can be lost in a single week. The margins are razor thin.

Stellar results!

You may need to just accept that your overall results will be less muscle given your diet restrictions.
