Congrats on starting your journey. Find all the support you can...doctors, support groups, trustworthy sources of info...is critical as there is lots of mis-information out there...or info that isn't relevant for everyone and it can be hard to tell. Be kind to yourself.

There are many "versions" of keto. I highly recommend an organized approach to learning about it (finding several trusted sources of info)...it isn't just about the food but vitamins, supplements, water, etc. It works for me for weight loss but I started on a medically-supervised moderate keto plan. Even with that support…

I just finished 12 months in ketosis for weight loss and it is truly eye opening. "Cravings" disappeared quickly and even now that I am eating slightly more carbs, nothing has "triggered" me to overeat. I am enjoying more variety in food and figuring out what my "new normal" is for maintaining my weight. I am going back…

I track my net carbs daily as I am on a ketogenic diet. I will continue to do so after I phase off as I plan to keep most meals under a particular net carb amount. This strategy is based on my personal experience and research/reading and I am not suggesting it for anyone else.

I am doing a medically-supervised keto diet for weight loss, taking all the supplements and water, very light exercise. It works for me. Have lost 155+ in 12 months. Have weekly weigh in on an InBody scale so know what I am losing (fat, water, muscle) so I can tweak my plan as needed. There are as many ways to be in…

Step 1: Birth control!

I've lost 150+ in 11 months on Ideal Protein. Being in ketosis was the game changer for me. And I didn't need to exercise so I could just focus on the food.

Go to sleep. Who doesn't need more sleep?

My advice regardless of the method you choose to loose or maintain is to keep reading, researching, comparing trusted sources of info and then making your choices. A moderate keto diet (medically supervised) has been my method for losing and I am working on creating my maintenance plan which will change over time I am sure.

For me, Ideal Protein (I wanted the technical support and weekly InBody scan). Three products and the rest "real food" so a nice blend. I didn't not need to do more than walk a few days a week. Ketosis is awesome! I've lost over 150 in a year. Feel confident about phasing off and having changed my lifestyle enough. I also…

I log mine in to each meal as I spread them throughout the day. I then copy and paste those basics in for the week ahead. Saves loads of time. I just add my food.

Wow! Thanks for the added motivation. I've lost 37.5% of my body weight and the goal is 50%. Congratulations on so many victories!!!
-
Nice! I happen to know the feeling and all the focus it takes. Congratulations!

Start now! Water, water, water (64-100 ounces a day) and track your food on here for a week. (make sure "fiber" is one of your macros in Settings so you can track your next carbs) Then start reading and keep learning from sources of info you trust about food and supplements.

Protein! Eggs and egg whites are my go to. Lots of good oil and salt.

Isn't it really about net carbs and not just carbs? If you are trying to get into and stay in ketosis, I recommend changing your settings so you are tracking carbs and fiber. (IMHO, if you aren't eating processed food drop to sodium column).

We have the same daily average loss! I've lost 150lbs in 10 months. Crazy! .44 lbs a day!!!!! Great job!!!
-
Been in ketosis for 10 months...In Food/Settings...I recommend you put carbs and fiber next to each other so you can easily calculate your next carbs every day. I add the answer in the notes box so I can look back easily for the week.

Maybe a little...zucchini, cucumber, jicama salad with cilantro and a little lime/evoo dressing.

Have lost 150 lbs on Ideal Protein, a moderate ketogenic diet. I track my food and exercise on MFP but don't rely on the macros. In my experience, first focus on net carbs (try 25-30 a day), 100+ ounces of water and supplements.

I just finished losing 150 lbs on Ideal Protein, a moderate ketogenic diet. Total game changer for me. From what I can tell, WLS forces the diet changes just after surgery or you get sick. I changed my diet and felt great in ketosis for 10 months. I think it is just a matter of choosing when you want to change your diet.…

100+ ounces of water a day. More lean protein.

The weight on my driver's license is no longer a lie.

I've been in ketosis for 6 months. Happy to have you friend me. My food diary is public so you can see what I have been eating. Week 1 can be tough....keep drinking your water, getting you salt and supplements. Once you are in ketosis you will feel great!

For me, being in ketosis has been a life changer....feel great...lost 100 in six months without working out...and don't feel deprived (very often). So very much of this is all in our heads. All my labs are now great. I am off hb meds. I am following the Ideal Protein protocol and it is really working for me. Have lots fat…
