I listen to 2 Keto Dudes and Keto Talk as podcasts. And watched some of the other vids folks have mentioned already. I also really like Dr. Westman. He has some videos and such also.

Take your time before committing. I did a solid 2 months of research before I started. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. However it's not for everyone! I dont miss the things I dont eat and love the things I do so it works for me. It's not some sort of magic. Weight loss rules still apply. And if you are a…

The best thing you can do for yourself is research. The link to the LCHF group is a good one. Remember it is fat to SATIETY not a license to overload yourself with it. I think this is where a lot of people get messed up. There is no need to put butter in your coffee unless you like it that way. Personally it sounds hideous…

I agree with kpk! Eat some nuts or heavy whip cream in something! It is important. I have days like this but they often are followed up with heavy eating days so it balances out. If you arent getting hungry days and stay like that too long its not good for you.

Some folks are diabetics and find Keto helps get their blood sugar under control. Some people are more satiated by fats so Keto is a good way of eating for them. There's lots of reasons to eat Keto and lots of reasons not to. Do what works for you!

I still eat keto and will for life. It just plain makes me feel good both physically and mentally. I have gotten so much healthier and happier with this way of eating that theres no way I am going back.
-
Good to see you back, Lori! :)

I dont do them now. When I first started though I did make cheesecake cupcakes with no crust and no sweetener added. Search out "ruled me cheesecake cupcakes " should bring you to the recipe. I just omitted the crust and sweetener but otherwise followed the recipe.

I just went through this a couple of weeks ago. When I could finally eat I had 1/4 of a salted avocado and 2 soft boiled eggs

Ehhhh nope! I live in Florida too. Currently taking my break outside. Sweating like a champ!!

I'm actually wondering about the fat intake being too low?

Sciatica sufferer here! Although not brought on by a severe injury. And yes keto helped. Well I am sure losing close to 60lbs helped tremendously with the pain. I don't suffer much from it any more and my knee pain from years of abuse playing soccer is almost non-existant. YMMV of course!

Man ... I'd vomit!

I don't seek it out. Listen to @KnitOrMiss! As a Med Tech in a former life, I've seen people really jack themselves up messing with this. It makes me crazy when people start supplementing this who aren't being medically supervised.

At 55 I'm worse now than when I was 30. My husband is scared of me lol
-
Aha! Thanks! That could be. I'll try it when I get home from work on my computer.
-
Not too sure about this one myself. It has me at 1093 calories. I re-entered and got the same thing.
-
Straight up! No additives. :)

OK don't quote me because my memory may be flawed here I think nitrites and nitrates are naturally occurring compounds. Nothing to do with fertilizer. The problem comes in when you burn it? Or something like that. Again my memory is suspect here.

We still have Gary Fettke's fiasco too. I feel so bad for these people.
-
This is why I am soooooo thankful for you guys!! I researched keto a solid month and a half before jumping in. Because of you all and the launch pad I totally avoided the major parts of the keto flu and this kind of mess. People really do not get how important this is!

Those of us in or near our 50"s remember the 90"s well. The constant drumming in the head seemed non-stop.(To me) Along with Talking Heads ;) Or were they the 80"s? Anyway .... yup had this issue for months and it can be a difficult hurdle. Keep at it with baby steps. I'm over it now and put fats on stuff like a champ!

Try looking up Keto Talk podcast. I know they had an episode on this supplement and how it helps.
-
Blech! Nope. I don't partake. I like my coffee straight up no add ons!
-
Does it have to be protein? Or would fat bars work? If so - maybe try https://www.adaptyourlife.com/adapt-bars/ by Dr Westman. I thought they were expensive but breaking down cost per bar in the box it wasn't bad. I have not tried these myself so have no idea if they are good or not.

I *think* Lyle McDonald did some pretty in depth stuff with PCOS. He has a website. Google will get you there.
-
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it measures acetone in the breath.
-
Welcome and congrats on the weight loss! Well done! I don't drink BPC. Messing with my coffee agitates me! ;) There's a great thread on here showing people's meals along with recipes for a good portion of them. I found it very helpful when I started.

Here's what I would do. 1. Fire that doctor immediately. 2. Find someone who will work with you 3. Get a thorough blood panel including all possible thyroid markers. Hair loss and fatigue can be associated with that. So can other things, of course but it's the first thing that jumps in my head 4. Don't worry about…

OK last response so I can have some time under my rock. Vegans have a very rigid diet Never said they didn't. My whole point was I don't see folks getting their undies in a knot over it! It's live and let live until it comes to keto. Then there comes all the so restrictive, eliminating a whole macro comments when for a…
