I have no idea what's going on with me lately, but since I have started here my migraines are really frequent. I have stopped drinking wine and am eating better. I thought mine might be from exercise? I still get them when I don't exercise though! Crazy that I felt better 13kgs heavier. Migraines are horrible to live…

The rest of my message disappeared. Grrr We had a masssive double decker chocolate cake for health and safety today (even though last week was nutrition awareness week!!) staying firm and saying no to all these treats is going to have to happen - I didn't have any cake by the way! Not becoming overly hungry and sipping…

Thanks for the reply @leahkathleen13 ! We wear fob watches pinned to our shirts. It's supposed to be compliant with hand hygiene/infection control. Whatever! It's not like I'm in oncology or ICU
-
@nashgirl516 good tips! How many daily steps do you clock up as a paed nurse?
-
Thanks so much girls. 13,000 is a good number. I like the bra strap idea too. Inventive!!
-
@mairesile That's my issue too. The two bottles I had over the past few months were consumed one bottle at a time in single sittings! It's easier for me to just not have any. I liken it to opening a packet of chips or lollies. Realistically, you're not just going to have one and happily stop (well not me anyhow
-
@mairesile ; That's a good plan. Are you going to start ASAP? I started in August and I've had maybe 2 bottles of wine since then. Really amazed by how much easier it gets after the first few weeks. If I can do it ANYONE CAN! Like Ireland, Australia is very much a nation of drinkers and drinking too!

I've lost 10kgs (22 lbs) but I don't think it's overly noticeable?? My arms and back fat are pretty stubborn. I'm determined to keep going though. It will happen I'm sure!

Picnic food!

Winner winner..... Thank you everyone for your help ;)
-
I KNOW the cost of food items alone here is nuts. So I just had my morning espresso with the coconut oil. Let's just say I m going to make it my morning routine from now on!!!
-
@sfcrocker I like the way you think! I'm not on iron supps (probably should be though!) but medication is a big factor with GI motility. Nurse here, so I had thought about that one too. Thank you for the info
-
@jgnatca thank you. I do 3x 45min weight sessions a week and my PT recommended the protein powder. I was unsure at first but I do struggle hitting 1200 calories a day sometimes and my protein intake was pretty low. I've managed to really structure my diet to hit 80-100grams of protein a day; especially my 'days off' the…

@joelo_83 thanks! I will try some of the options suggested here, but what you say does make sense. Thank you for the info.... I guess I'll just have to accept the three/four times a week business haha.
-
@extra_medium @Christine_72 @Chef_Barbell Yes... I'm in Australia and it is definitely the norm for good quality protein. I saw Chemist Warehouse sell a bunch of protein /fitness products for slightly less but I haven't tried them personally.

Certainly agree. The wine is one thing but the mindless grazing and over consumption is probably even worse!!
-
@WinoGelato Thank you! So appreciate hearing your story. I have been on MFP for 45 days now and have logged everything faithfully. I'm only on 1200 cal a day but it's working for me at this point in my 'journey'. Alcoholism runs in my family too and I believe it to be a genetic predisposition. I think I have made up my…
-
@Return2Fit awesome mindset. I'm thinking of flicking the wine all together. It's all about fitness after all. Stupid empty calories messing with my fat metabolism.
-
@KetoneKaren absolutely. Many medications shouldn't be taken with alcohol but this is true for any type of sedative. Even codeine! I certainly would not go down that path. Thanks for your well wishes. Appreciate it
-
Hi @WinoGelato Not so much that I have a problem..... Well, I guess I'm not good at control if there's wine in my fridge. But then again, it's the same for pizza  To answer your question, I guess it's a little bit from column A and a little bit from column B.
-
Too funny. Stupid love/hate relationships. How crazy when you say it like that "I miss the thing that makes me fat and feel like crap". We must be crazy!!
-
@Packerjohn I used to drink large volumes of wine at night, since going without or cutting back, I just can't get to sleep. I have a script for a Z class drug (not addictive like a benzodiazepine is) It's just hard lying awake until 2 in the morning and then trying to function! I'm Not the greatest sleeper at the best of…
-
Wow, you've done some good, hard work. AA is probably not what I need, but I do agree that alcohol is definitely a problem in society. The old 'just don't drink' doesn't work for everyone! Thanks for your well wishes
-
@jsmoo1 thanks for your honesty.... Totally understand the 'vino or nothing' feeling. I think you're right; booze doesn't equal a healthy, lean body. I'm going to try and go totally without for a month (I have fatty liver disease too. Boo) and try the sparkling water with lime slices, lots of tea, going to bed early and…

Worth a try! ;)
-
Ok... Well I'm DEFINITELY killing it in daily fiber intake, I almost drink TOO much water. It must be the fat..... My old arch nemesis. Thanks @rainbowbow
-
@amgaylord Wow. That's something I hadn't thought of. Actually my fat intake is pretty low....perhaps coconut oil or avocado to bump it up? What sort of fats helps you? Thanks
-
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me. Much appreciated @TarikOktay. Will definitely give that a go!
-
Thanks @TarikOktay My PT said 100-120gms but I'm sitting on around 80gms per day. One scoop of the powder is 30gms and I stick to one a day (with added powdered fiber!) and the rest I get from lean meats (mostly chicken) and Greek yoghurt.

@azuvioleta6 It's instantized cross flow micro filtered and ultra filtered whey protein isolate. Flavours, emulsifiers, sweetners, 950, 955... Sounds appetizing huh?
