I have just run 5k. Outside (track around a park and sports area). For the first time in my life!!! In 43 minutes! I am still obese as per bmi so that's a win in my book! Who knew I could run 5k and not die??? Came home and had allll the food (weighted, chosen wisely and logged, but enjoyed it soooo much more!)

Cool! Thanks and congrats

Totally agree. I was thinking of "tips" like diet break or calorie cycling, high carb days or days off from exercising :) But probably the best tip is just to have patience!

How did you bust the plateau? Any special tips?

I started C25K this year, but I have trouble listening to instructions (I don't even really read recipes, I just "imagine" half of the procedures). So, after finishing week 3 of C25K and then taking one week off of training because of life and illness, today I went back to the gym and was going to do a short full body…

From the Mayo Clinic web: Research suggests that there's a link between diet and inflammation, which is your body's response to injury or infection. Inflammation causes heat, redness, swelling and pain in the affected part of the body. While this normal immune system response is important for healing, sometimes…

I did not have that croissant! I did not even go see what it looked like! :))

@psuLemon Let's hope that, with autoimmune diseases on the rise, there will also be more research as it is becoming a public health concern. Unfortunately, many diseases taken alone are so rare, that there is no economic benefit in studying them... Till scientific evidence is available, trial and error must do! All the…

I got my first "I didn't recognize you!" from my ex-boss. :) I was wondering why he was acting so cold and distant and not really answering my greetings.

Well, I am most interested in myasthenia gravis. Internet wisdom says that eating 'clean' (as in organic, non-gmo) is particularly important for ppl suffering for autoimmune diseases. Whether the diet should be vegan or paleo-based autoimmune protocol, is, however, a different debate. So, I am interested in some scientific…

I keep them in a sealed jar in the fridge. They never went bad.

Thanks!

Awesome stuff. Do you guys know of any scientific evidence that links food and autoimmune disease? Would greatly appreciate any reference!

Good luck!

Hi! I'm no expert, but have you tried this calculator? For me, it gives 40% protein & carbs (164 g of each) and 20% fat (I think 36 g). http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/macronutrients_calculator.htm I weigh 196 lbs, so 0.8*196 = 156, so, the numbers are pretty close. So, maybe you were not using the "right" macro…

Sooooo looking forward to the 5k!!! Take the time to fully heal, it's very important (or at least so I've read!!). Hope you feel better soon!

Yesterday I completed day 2 of week 1 of C25K and am really happy. It is not much, but just 10 months ago I couldn't even get day 1 done! I really would love to be able to run a half marathon maybe in 2018??

I use Weider Vegan protein from Costco. Chocolate taste. It does not taste great, but had no sugar and was vegan. Tomorrow Amazon should bring me my Sun Warrior Protein in neutral taste! I'll keep you posted. (I am not vegan, but I am dairy-free because I feel better that way.)

Good for you! You can do this!

Keep up the good work! There are tons of advice here, but ultimately having a caloric deficit is what most people agree works.
