Hi @AnnPT. Maybe it's BMR then and I just got the term wrong. I am frustrated with how hungry I am on this medication and refuse to believe that my caloric limit is 1600-1800 when I want to keep eating closer to 2,000 calories. I'm wondering if my metabolism has sped up, making me hungrier. Today was a good example. I…

Thanks Anne, i always enjoy your posts. Congrats on being in maintenance for 6 years!!! That's the dream 😆 I will try this pb powder. Never heard of it before. That's one of the reasons these forums are so helpful :)

Sorry I should have provided that information. My goal is 1/2 lbs weight loss per week with only five pounds left to go. I am adding back only 50% of my exercise calories. I am part vegetarian (no mammal meat), 5'6 and currently 163 lbs.

Thank you so much 💓

Thank you both!

Yes. 100% it will. Most do. You will have to be extra religious about controlling calorie intake. The problem with anti depressants is they rev up your appetite especially in the first few weeks. Then you get into a habit of eating more. I've been on these meds 4 times in my life and gained 10 lbs - 20 lbs with each kind.…

[quote="ChaoticMoira;c-46164166" * You can also use sugar free jello to help make a meal feel bigger. This is good if I have had a healthy snack/meal, but it wasn't big enough; I can add on some sugar free jello to make it heavier in my stomach. @ChaoticMoira What kind of jello do you have? When i hear jello, i think of…

Thanks all. I am actually hungry so its not in my head. I have realized that i can switch my Truvia with Cane Sugar to 100% stevia for my coffees and will need to stop putting 1 tbs of ground flax in my yogurt. This will save a total of 127 calories. It really sucks that some of us can’t make use of the benefits of flax…

Water does nothing but but distend my stomach. :(

Very eye opening! I need to up my carbs. :)

@sijomial Thanks for this! Yes, my goal is only 0.5 lbs per week. My meals are satisfying, though I always wish I could eat just a bit more. What do you mean by exercise estimates matching my new routine? Good point about carbs - I will check my macros.

Thanks! This is very true for me too. The last three i have significantly upped my protein intake and have been able to comfortably stay under 1640 calories. Problem is it is monotonous and i dont always feel like eating animal flesh, even though it does help satiate me.

These are my results over the past 7 years. I can’t stop eating at 1,600. I want more food!

This is really interesting. What is a trending app?

I did some math. I am 43 years old, 5’6 and 172 lbs. Due to lockdowns, i sit in my condo every day. The only exercise i do now is a light jog or brisk walk for 40 minutes, 4-5 times a week. I just bought a treadmill and started doing that. Gyms have been closed for the past year. I have gained 10 pandemic pounds since last…

Thanks to everyone for replying. I guess i am in denial about creating a calorie deficit being the only way to lose fat. Somehow i wanted the cardio to pay me back dividends on its own. My appetite is voracious lately. I dont want to curb my eating, thats why i have avoided weighing/logging food.

30 minute runs at an intense pace (level 8 heart beats) @sijomial

1-3 lbs

Thank you :)

I agree completely. Only missing piece is satiety. People are unique and reach satiety based on different combinations of foods. Recently, i discovered that upping my protein calories (in exchange for some carb calories) is helping me to stop eating at 1,700 calories, my target calories for weight loss. I'm doing this by…

Just want to clarify... my total daily fat grams are under 70 g and usually much less than 60 g. I don't think i am gorging on fat, let alone animal fat. I don't eat mammals first of all, and my cheese choices are mostly low fat. My default has always been to eat too little protein, so upping my cheese, indulging in dark…

For sure.... i'm just amazed that i can eat this much fatty animal protein (i.e. cheese and dark meat chicken) and still lose weight. I grew up believing one must limit their fat grams, but I am finding satiety with a higher protein/fat diet than with a high fiber/low fat diet and it's exciting. This one tweak has been…

I've been reading every single response. Some have been kinder than others. Thanks for asking.

Hi there - i weigh the oatmeal dry at 85g. I'm surprised by everyone's reaction to that because i find its a good portion for me. It satiates for 2-3 hours. Btw i am 5'6, 173 lbs and big boned for a girl.

Hi again! Jogging 30 minutes three times a week is the only activity i get currently. Yeah, i snack because i'm anxious, bored, need comforting, etc. Sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night to pee and then realize i'm hungry so i head to the kitchen to eat cereal to help me fall asleep. The sweetness and milk are…

Hi! Thanks for the response. I've been at it for 1 year with some success and lots of setbacks due to depression and antidepressant meds. I know that 1700-1800 cals works for me to lose a half pound per week. I am 5'6 and weight 170 lbs. My goal is to be under 160 lbs. It's a good size for me. Maybe i need to start eating…

Sorry, but are you all just making this stuff up? Lol Each reply here opposing the book is written with absolutely certainty. What are your credentials? If you have studied metabolism and have 20+ years of experience working with overweight clients (as the book's author does) please say so. Otherwise all this back and…

@MichelleSilverleaf I find it odd that you are resisting the idea of changing your metabolism this much. Is it that you don't want to do aerobic exercise? If you've ever worked out hard on a regular basis, you are familiar with the increase in hunger one feels as a result. What do you think is happening in your body when…
