I don’t think your understanding my situation. My body stopped responding to very low calories. The lower calories I went the more swollen, gi issues and hormonal imbalances would occur. I’m at a place where it wouldn’t be healthy to lower my calories to lose more weight. I was currently maintaining at 1400, the only way…

Sometimes you have to go back to move forward

I will gain a bit of fat that I’m aware of but I will also be putting on muscle. I was also maintaining at 1400 too. I need to prime my body for a fat loss phase and unfortunately I’m not even close to that. I gave myself a 5 pound cushion…

We shall see….

I do not eat back my exercise calories. I fired my coach! And now I’m doing this in my own and I’m a bit nervous. I think I’m going to recomp and increase calories, maybe by the end of November/December I’ll start my deficit again. I’d love to get my calories up to 2100-2200 and maintain there for a bit. I’m at 1850 right…

I’m 5”4 and I am 38 years old. I have consistently been eating between 1700-1760. For the past 6 weeks. When I started with this coach he put me right on a meal plan with these calories. I started with him at 146 and since my starting date I stayed with in the the 145 range fluctuating oz ex 145.4, 145.6…

I was 160 last august. I lost weight mainly eating 1600 calories and I ranged between 145-147. I lowered my calories to 1400 to try to lose more and I started to gain weight and my body started to look puffy. That is when I decided to reverse diet and try to hit a higher maintenance calories and stay there for a bit and…

Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate your kindness and support. My goal at the moment is to come out of a fat burning state and get my calories up to maintenance and stay here for a while so my metabolism and body can readjust. During that time I will be lifting so I’d love to put on some more muscle. I am…

What do you mean my weekly average? I would love to build my shoulders a bit. I was at 1400 calories starving and my bowel movements slowed down. I figured it was time to reverse diet a bit and come back into a defecit. In the past 6 weeks I stayed the same weight and I’m eating 1700.
-
Thank you for helping me out! My Goal is to reverse diet right now, and bring my metabolism back up a bit. I don’t want to gain weight but at the same time I do know that might be part of the process. I have never done a reverse diet so I don’t know when I’m supposed to stop and just maintain there for a bit. And I don’t…

I agree. Do you think finding a new coach is the best thing for me?
-
I also asked him for the macros and he said if he gives them to me I won’t have noticeable physical changes. Because I was counting macros before and I wasn’t getting anywhere. Well, I hired him because I wanted to restore my metabolism because I was down to 1400 and couldn’t lose anymore. My goal was to bring calories up…

I plugged in the macros for this week and they’re different from last week. I’m so confused. He says we are recomping which we are and I visually see it. My weight is staying the same but we’re not increasing calories. I thought we were supposed to bring my calories up for a bit before we go into a defecit again, which was…

quote="PAV8888;c-48259389"]Are you a body builder trying to place in Mr Olympia? The best teachers I ever had were not the profs who filled their lecture halls based on name recognition.[/quote] Im not but I train like one. I go to a bodybuilding gym where they are all competitors so this is what I see and know. Im just…

I signed up for 6 months and I’m starting my 6th week now.

Hi, none of this resonates with me. I meticulously track. My weight has crept up only after lowering my calories. Other than that my way has been between 145 and 147 pounds eating at 1600 cal. There is nothing that goes into my mouth that is not measured. My inches have been the same as well. My goal was to only lose half…

Thank you so much for this I really appreciate this. So my fitness pal was saying that in order for me to lose half a pound a week based on my activity (which I might’ve put in too low, because I retrain five days a week and I do cardio five days a week, with one complete rest day and I complete 10,000 steps a daily) and I…

I lost 20 pounds since this past July and in March I stalled. I didn’t change my calories back in March and thought maybe it would work itself out. I do work out in a Powerhouse gym so most people who come are competitors. There of course all the average people as well, but it is very popular for a bodybuilder gym. That…

I am a female who is 37 years old I’m 5’4” and I have been fluctuating between 145 and 147 pounds for the past six months. I currently strength training, isolated body, parts, five times a week, and I am doing four 45 minute cardio sessions per week as well. My step count is 10,000 steps per day. I went from eating 1600…

My daughter didn’t go to sleep away camp for the first time this summer. She has been gone for two weeks. Yes, it has been hard but it’s gotten much easier. That is the only difference in my life. I do speak to her daily. But my body started to feel really bad when I reduced my calories.

I know what reverse dieting is. I’m stating that I decided to lower my calories and I gained 1 pound a day for every day I lowered my calories. No, was it fat that I put on absolutely not was it water retention every day probably. But my body should not be looking to hold onto water for every day I lowered my calories. My…

I decided to try lowering my calories a bit for reverse dieting. I lower my calories by 100 and increase cardio by 30 minutes one extra day a week and my body gained 1 pound for every day I lowered my calories. I don’t know what this means but all I know is I think being a deficit might not be where I need to be right now.…

So if I’m maintaining at 1600 which is very low for me that means this is my new maintenance calories? I have about 18 more pounds to lose and can’t drop calories lower then that otherwise I will starve…
-
Totally agree! But I was 147 in march and I’m still that weight. That’s 12 weeks being around the same weight with same calories. That’s why I’m so frustrated. That is why I know something is wrong and not working for me.
-
My maintenance calories should never be 1600. For my weight they should be close to 1800-2000 daily.
-
I believe both are important. The number on the scale has to eventually move in the downward direction. I do believe in the body recomposing itself but at the same time the fat needs to come off. When I say My measurements are going down i mean they’re slightly moving. My goal is 130 because that’s where I like myself…if…

I’m very accurate with my calorie counting. I wish I wasn’t so I’d have something I know I can fix.
-
I did have a large 2 day celebration last Wednesday and Thursday and was off track those days.

250 calories less is extremely Low for how active I am. 1600 should never be my maintenance. At this weight I should be maintaining at 1800-1850. Body comp has changed but I do feel I should be weighing less on the scale
-
I just stepped on the scale this morning. I was on shock. I weighed 147.8. I’m the same number on the scale today then I was back in March but my inches are down. My goal is 130 and I don’t understand why my weight isn’t coming down with the calories I’m eating. There is nothing that goes in my mouth that I don’t weigh.…
