I think what's really worrying me is, last week my recommended calories was 1300. Then I did some messing with goals, changing different options, but when I went back to the original choices, it set it as 1530.......

Thank you, ladies! I am really enjoying it, and that's a big surprise.

"What's your secret?" - makes me seethe!!!!!!! I always reply, "I work really REALLY hard." You look fabulous!

Here's my favourite (as in, WORST!) before shot: I need to do a more recent (and better!) after shot - but this one is from three months ago, I was 154lbs (I'm 149lb now). I'm 5'10". My GW is 140lbs, but I am very small framed (my wrists are tiny). My start weight was 211lbs. This was me at 165lbs:

I had the exact opposite problem!

Chocolate. I buy the best sort, but even so, I'm eating about 250kcal worth a day, and it's just empty calories.
-
I'm gluten free, sugar free, dairy free (except for Greek yoghurt) - I have been for more than two years. I have autoimmune problems, that are only under control if I eat this way. Before that, I was seriously incapacitated by them.

Also, "I know what happens when I give up; I want to see what happens when I don't."

I tried doing two workouts a day - cardio or strength in the morning, Pilates or barre in the evening - but I just felt exhausted and run down. But I do have to be careful, I have fibromyalgia.

I agree with the post above. It took me three months of determined effort before I started genuinely enjoying exercise. Now it's easy to be motivated - I know I'll feel great afterwards. But for the first few months, I just made myself get in the habit. I'm a firm believer in the phrase, "exercise because you love your…

For exercise: yes I can. For eating: make choices you won't regret later.

I've battled anxiety/depression since I was a child - my first (and biggest) suicide attempt was at age 12. My parents didn't seek help for me - I wish they had. I went on antidepressants about 8 years ago; for some of us, they mean life or death. I do okay in the summer, but plummet down in winter. But exercise plays a…

I'm the same - I battle SAD every winter. Exercise is a huge help (for several reasons). But since in the past I had a pattern of losing weight in the summer, only to gain it all back in the winter, last winter my goal was just to maintain my current weight loss. It worked, in fact, i continued losing (thanks to exercise).…

My GW is now single figures away!! When I get there I will have lost 70lbs, one third of my starting weight.
-
It's really hard, isn't it?! I do cardio 4 times a week (I run three times, and use a recumbent bike once), lift twice, and do barre once.

The dreaded net calorie burn!

Right, thanks!

Sorry, I think I confused the issue by using two measurements. I ran an average of an 11.10 minute mile - that's approx 5.4 mph.....

Fantastic!!!!

When I was working to overcome binge eating, I tried to visualise every time I made the right choice as being a brick in a wall. The wall got higher and higher until I was fully recovered. OP, work out what your triggers are - that's the biggest step to recovery. Mine was any indication that I was "on a diet", I couldn't…

Thank you!! I think it really helped that my motivation was to FEEL better. Looking better was just a byproduct. That meant that I got positive reinforcement all along the journey, as I gradually recovered my health.

I'm nearly 41, and I've lost 60lb. I cleaned up my diet (no sugar, no wheat, nothing processed), worked on portion size, managed to overcome a binge eating disorder, but the last 2/3 of that weight loss came from daily exercise, 45 minutes, cardio & strength training. For context, I also have chronic health problems, PCOS…

Amazing!!!

I'm the same - the top two are very visible, and I can see why, I have very little fat around my ribs.
-
Maybe not, but I'm a new 11-12 minute mile runner, so I'm enjoying the thread!
-
I've started drinking coconut water after my workouts - I'm not keen on it, but it definitely speeds up my recovery time (doesn't help DOMS, but helps my energy).

Yup, that's my choice too (I'm a 28G) - I need those bad boys controlled! Try Figleaves, OP. Or Bravissimo.
