That's less than a week ago and it can take a while to recover. If appetite wasn't an issue before then you'll regain your appetite eventually. You could try things like protein shakes? As often it's easier to drink your calories when your appetite is low.

I had to look up Spanx on Google as I'd never heard of it and now I'm fascinated. Do they work? To me they look like the awful girdles my mother's generation used to wear which I thought had been done away with years ago. I wasn't referring to her being hit on or indeed specifically to her. I'm referring to a more general view being expressed, that people who feel worried about using any gym are worrying needlessly. People suffering from social anxiety, body dysmorphia, whatever, aren't going to be persuaded that easily.

What interests me is how those (on this thread)who feel intimidated by some gyms, are told (by some) that they are imagining things that never really happen, the implication (as I see it) being that they should get over this, yet feeling offended by an advertising ploy is somehow more justifiable.

You may need to up it some more. I know everybody is different but using myself as an example, I'm female, 63, 5'3 and active. I have to eat around 2300 at least, just to maintain. Like you, I often go over on protein (and fat) and under on cars. If you have enough energy to do your workouts, I wouldn't worry too much…

That's great but chronic diseases, such as Crohn's, can be exhausting. During flare ups there are days when I can barely get off the sofa. It's one of the terms my mum used to use, along with bilious attack (aka stomach bug), lumbago (aka lower back pain) and sugar diabetes (as though there were any other kind) I think it means a cold that only affects your nose but, like you, I find they invariably affect my throat and chest too
