Sweetie, just from the symptoms you describe I'd say you need to see your doctor. I had similar symptoms when I was anaemic.

Isn't the poster saying, only a small percentage of mfp - ers would dispute that calorie deficit =weight loss. However, they then go on to say that claiming cico is the one true diet, is woo? That's the trouble with using lots of negatives. I'm confused Eta :hang on, I think it's that a distinction is being made between…

I broke my shoulder 5 years ago. It was a nasty break with a shattered shoulder blade going up into the shoulder. I'm in the UK and was automatically referred for physiotherapy after 6 weeks. Before that I was supposed to wear a sling which immobilised my arm and shoulder and not move that side at all. Physio helped a lot…

Presumably if you've had your gallbladder removed you no longer have gallbladder problems. Before mine was removed I could barely eat anything at all. It was damn miserable and I lost a lot of weight which I didn't need to lose. The diet above (in both your comments) is incredibly restricted and contains hardly any protein.

I had mine out 5 years ago and wasn't told that. I do - still - have to take care with fatty foods.

This is true! I guess as a chronic Insomniac I tend to be obsessive about the amount of sleep I get - on a good night I rarely get more than 6 hours and vit d reduced it drastically.
-
It's a shame because I've definitely had more energy since I started taking it but I cannot deal with the Insomnia!
-
You could try dropping the dose. 4000 is the rda in the UK.

Wow, talk about synchronicity. I have been googling exactly the same thing. I'm on supplements of d3 and calcium because I have osteoporosis. I've aways been a bit of an insomniac and I hoped they might improve my sleep (as everything I'd previously read suggested it would) but instead I'm getting even less sleep and,…

It never fails to amaze me how many things there are on the database. I know they're not always accurate but once in a while I don't think that's a biggie. I even found an entry once for some Hungarian doughnuts (which are made with cottage cheese and are delicious) that I had at a Christmas Market

But, might that deterioration be slowed, if not halted, if lifting and strength training were started earlier? I'm 62 and one of the reasons I started lifting was because I realised I was no longer able to do some of the things I used to do without even thinking, and for me the biggest gain is reflected in my increased…

Sometimes when I'm asked to review a place, it's via a link sent by email and you're asked a number of questions. Levels of cleanliness are generally somewhere near the top. I've never reviewed a gym but maybe that accounts for the apparent significance people attach to it? And, as has been said, if there's a pool and…

As I understand it, it's hard to gain muscle in a calorie deficit but I'm sure someone will explain it better than I can
-
Those won't be additional calories burned, though. It's just a different way of tracking calories burned. My fitbit tells me I burn around 1600 calories a day but I don't eat them back because it's just a calculator like mfp, if that makes sense. What you could do is to link your tracker with mfp (if that's possible - not…

Aren't bananas high in potassium? Maybe that's what does it...

This. To be honest, I see no problem if people are able to easily reach their goals by eating "healthy" food (though I know there is disagreement about what that actually means) But on this forum there are a fair few if us who struggle with low appetite and /or feeling full, or chronic illness which restricts what we can…
-
Only if it becomes obsessive in that you suffer extreme anxiety if you don't eat "healthy" food.
-
Speaking from personal experience, I have a hard time reaching my calorie goal as I'm not a volume eater and get full very quickly. Adding a bit of "junk food" helps me to add calories on days when I am finding it hard to reach my goal. I eat more nutritious food as well. Adding something like a doughnut or ice-cream…

Why do you have to avoid alcohol?

I'm 62,started when I was 60. You're never too old! My doctor told me that retaining and building muscle is even more important as we age. My progress has been slow and at times I've had to go backwards but that's because of other health issues not because of age.

Search for strength training under cardio.

^^^ This. Have you set your level to active (which it sounds like you are), are you eating back your exercise calories? I find mfp estimates much too low for me and generally have to add at least another 250 just to maintain
-
Maybe you're not eating enough? Just a thought
-
I find it helps to log my exercise on here and eat back the calories
-
I'm 5'3, 128 lbs and maintain on around 2200 even though most calculators (including mfp) put me at far less than that. I workout 3 - 4 times a week. I thought I was lightly active until I started using a fitbit and realised I'm more active than I thought so that might explain it. Basically I am on the go most of the time…

I'm not picky but am on a fairly restricted diet due to illness. I generally go for the fish option in those situations but obviously that won't work for vegetarians. I find most restaurants are willing to be flexible ;eg if the dish includes a sauce which contains ingredients I can't eat, most will omit the sauce or offer…

Ok, compared to all the old timers on here I am pretty clueless. I don't know about the exact science of this but, anecdotally, my personal experience is that I launched quickly into the SL 5x5 program as an almost complete novice. I ended up injuring myself quite badly and my doctor referred me to a physiotherapist. She…

Yes, very much this! I read it as almost a political statement and a recognition that there are many, many factors involved in health.
