It's great that you don't live with her given the situation. Sounds like you are doing wonderful. You are losing weight without depriving yourself and that is the key to long term change. You have to be able to live it. I would suggest not meeting her for meals until she can be more supportive. Go for coffee, a walk, or a…

I do drink a lot of water to flush it out of my system. It works for me.

I'll try that. Thinking I can surely handle more than that. I'm used to physical work, so I will start there and see how I feel the next day. In the past I have been bad about over doing it and hardly being able to move the next day.

Got the app! Thanks. Now I need to find out what I can lift .

Never heard of them, I will check it out.
-
I will try some of those! Thank you.

I have both.

Strength would be great! I have free weights and a machine. I really have about everything I need at home, except a spotter. So whatever I do I have to be able to do alone. It's been so long I really couldn't tell you what I used to lift, and really I had no guidance then. I just used to push myself as much as possible. I…

Love any advice you have for a woman starting back on weights. I used to do it more regular and am really just starting back. How do you determine your starting weight for lifting. My first focus is losing weight, but I do want to add muscle tone too. Thinking after my weight loss goal is met, I may lift more. Also…

I do all the cooking, so it's a bit easier for me, but I keep ready made veggies made up to fill up on and eat smaller portions. Look up the most comparable dish online and log the highest one. Don't starve, but if you are still hunger grab more veggies or a piece of fruit. When we are out, we go where he wants to, so I…

Great ideas! I have done a new healthy cook book, workout clothes, exercise DVDs,music, new clothing for every day, nail color, hair style, sterling silver charm for my bracelet that reminded me of either a goal or one met.
-
Great idea! I may have to think about that. I have always been camera shy though. Not sure how many pictures I could bring myself to be in.

Love this site! It's a breath of fresh air, ( looser clothes help too)

We all have different things that motivate us. For me I not only want to look better, but feel better. My health has always been good, but as I get older it is important that I do what I must to keep it that way. I only get one body to live this life with. I want to stand as tall as 5'2" can and walk through,at a fun pace.…

No day like today!

Love my protein smoothies with frozen fruit. I agree with the others here. Slim fast shakes are not the best way to go.

It's really different for us all. I'm 5'2" so it shows up pretty quick, however depending on what I wear, people may or may not notice right away. Not everyone is comfortable saying anything either. They don't want to be the person who asks a women when they are due only to drown in the awkward moment when they are told…

I had set a goal yesterday to walk 6 miles this week. My tracker had me at just over 6 yesterday when I was working. So I have a very busy week this week and decided to see just how many miles I walk and try to at least match it next week. I am staying in my calorie goals all week and getting my scale back Wednesday so I…

I had set a goal of 6 miles this week. With all the work we did yesterday my tracker had me at just over 6 yesterday! So I obviously am not done for the week. So I will see what I can do this week with a full work week and try to match it next week.

Always love new friends on here. More friends, more ideas!

Have you made your food journal so others can view it? I just found out how and thought it would help me and others.
-
Those are great goals @cbabie !
-
So many places to look! I love cooking new things. Does anyone have a great homemade spaghetti sauce recipe? I really want one that cans well for my next garden season. I love putting up my own veggies!
-
This can be a challenge, but it can be done. I have to fix 2 meals lunch and dinner every day. I do some of mine ahead and either eat it several days or freeze some for another day.
-
I have been on here for a couple of weeks now and love it. It's just making it so much easier for me. Love the friend option to share ideas and encouragement.
-
@Chadxx that smoothie sounds good. Going to try that one!

I agree that you could benefit from a counselor. It might just help you put things in proper perspective. They have a way of helping sort through things that can make more sense to you. There are some behavior and mind games most of us play with ourselves. It's why we became unhealthy to begin with. Some more than others.…

My three kids are grown and I have a 4 year old granddaughter. I have lost the weight before and am doing it again. I did it before on Weight Watchers flex plan, but they did away with it and changed everything. Now this is much like what I did before that worked, just counting calories instead of points. Feeling so much…

I want to be healthy enough to have fun, with my family and enjoy life!

Thank you @CyberTone . I had the same question.
