  • I don't eat all my calories in favour of keeping my sugar and fat level at the recommended levels. I'm usually left with 400 calories? I eat a lot of turkey, chicken, some salmon, omlettes, 3 cups of coffee with skimmed milk a day, no bread, rice, cheese, potatoes, unless it's sweet potato. I have a smoothie with berries…
  • Great! I too drink smoothies.
  • Yeah doosalily and Irisheyes I'm on day 15 streak now. I started this challenge and found I can walk 5000 steps in one go so I've been doing this twice a day. Legs hurt but going to keep going in order to loose this weight!
  • Hi lolliopopsnrainbows below is a condensed version of what I was referring to. I'm not a nutrionist or dietician though, I'm trying to keep away from calories myself. As i also mentioned I drink smoothies myself every once in a while. The smoothies I drank were only during the first three days of my 'detox/cleanse' and…
  • Thanks for the help guys. I am 34 yr old male 5ft11inch (some would say 6ft) and I was 227lbs but now at 218lbs by keeping my calories around 1500 a day. I'm not at all athletic but trying to change that by walking at least 10,000 steps a day and introducing some strength training too.
  • Thanks everyone...I have tried coconut oil in my coffee before not realising the amount of calories (which I don't need any extra of) and I found it tasted nice and was easier on my system but I got heartburn. I measured the amount of skimmed milk I use in a mug of coffee and it's about 15 tablespoons! I just thought the…
  • Yeah I never believed this smoothie business until I completed a detox consisting of a smoothie for breakfast for a couple of days. They are so much more easier on your stomach and you don't feel hungry either. I still drink smoothies from the detox as a quick meal and to help with digestion. However I've heard that it is…
  • Thanks Captbklee and StrengthofaBear, i haven't done any push ups as I don't feel strong in my back so I'm doing push ups off counters etc just to get into it. I'm pretty clueless about this stuff so I appreciate the advice and the links are a great guide. Cheers.
  • MFP probably did recommend 1500 calories but it's also the amount I was prepared to limit myself too. I was planning in having a cheat day weekends and to stay within the 1500 calorie range. I suppose that would still keep me loosing the weight?
  • Thank you for the advice everyone. I gather that sugars and fat are not to be worried about when I'm consuming below the 1500 calories; so long as I'm not exceeding that. I picked 1500 calories a day as that should bring my weight down to what I would like to be at, 185 lbs / 13 stone as aposed to maintaining 224lbs/16…
