Hi, I have very similar goals! 5'4 and 177lbs currently, I'd like to get to 135-140ish. Like you, I'm mostly alone on my journey. I sent a friend request!

I think just about the only thing that seems to work for me is portioning. I'm a recovering binge eater and I still struggle sometimes, but mostly when there's a bufet style food. I will eat whatever is in front of me so portioning is a big deal and I make sure that if I make more food than I should eat I put it out of…

I'm a binge eater myself. The first step is admitting that you have a problem so you're good on your way! Take it one day at a time, the key is to tell yourself you only need to manage today. Don't stress over tomorrow, next week or the rest of your life, just focus on today. Good luck on your journey!

Great! I sent you an invite. And I think a glass of wine now and then is good for you!

Thanks, will check. Not sure if I'm calling it right because english is not my native language but this was prescribed by my doctor (orthopedist) and is performed by physical therapist (and as I was told, is pretty expensive if you want it more than twice a year which is what my insurance covers) - basically they put your…

Thanks, I'll try the partial leg presses too. I've been seeing a doctor for the past 10 years or so when I first started experiencing issues. I've been on magnetotherapy and various suplements which sustained me for a significant chunk of those 10 years. Since my left knee has gotten worse, we've discussed surgery. How are…

Geez, man. I'm just looking for inspiration here. I'm not asking for health advice. I asked about alternative ways to exercise quads that I may not have thought of. For your peace of mind, I've lived with this condition my whole life. The only thing I'm not allowed is skiing, otherwise I can do anything as long as there's…

These are my indoor shoes (they're too pretty to be messed up outside).

Hi, I've been successfully beating the urges for about a month now (which might seem like very little but it's actually a lot for me). There are a few things that help me every day - first, I know that I'm most likely to binge in the evening so I eat most of my calories during the late afternoon. Second, I have a sweet…

What I do is, if I know I have to go to a restaurant (business lunch/dinner etc), I look at their menu beforehand and know exactly what I'm going to have before I set foot in the restaurant and once inside, I quickly browse the menu to see if the food I want is really there (sometimes the webpages are outdated). I don't…

Hi, I'm Ella. i have about 20kg to lose and I've lost weight in the past but I've always quit eventually. This time around I'd like to meet some people to share my journey with, it sucks doing this alone. Add me if you want to be friends.

Welcome back! I quit a few times myself and even though I used MFP during some of my efforts in the past, I've never really dug into the social aspects of MFP. This time around I'm giving it a shot. Good luck on your journey!

Smoked salmon with cucumber salad. For the salad: 1 whole cucumber, grated (approx 270g, 49 kcal) 4 pickles (gherkins), cut to small pieces (approx 60g, 14 kcal) 150g of low fat greek yoghurt (approx 150kcal) dill, salt, pepper and crushed garlic to taste (I like spiced up so I use 1 big garlic clove and at least 1 tbsp of…

27 and pretty new here, at least in the community part of the app :)

I understand how overwhelming it might feel - you have some sort of lifestyle and now all of sudden it seems like you need to make a lot of impossible changes practically overnight to be healthy. But you don't have to flip your world upside down overnight! All it takes is a few small steps every day. You are living a…

I really like latin music for cardio or running - it makes me want to dance and the cardio/run goes by like nothing. I just pick a random latin playlist from Spotify.

Well done! You can do this, you look great now and you'll be a smoking hot bride by next December!

I feel you. I've been through the same thing and it is really frustrating to see you working towards something you already had in the past. I was able to pull out so much more on my last weight loss effort than I am now. I still WANT to lose weight, you see, but my willpower just got lost over the years. I think my problem…

Thank you all for the great ideas and support. I'm emotional eater so the highest chances for me to binge are when I'm already down and not feeling strong enough to stop myself. I'd like to chip in with advice to someone who might read this later. Since I'm an emotional eater, it is sometimes hard to rely on myself to stop…

Thank you all for your kind words. I think I did much better today. Still feeling on edge but I managed today. One step at a time...
