You are doing both, since I'm sure when you add up all your sets and reps you're still getting enough volume to build mass, along with strength.
-
If by increase injury risk you mean correct a flawed approach then your getting it.
-
You can build strength without mass by straining to do one really hard rep. Look at Denis Rogers. He bends steel, breaks chains, drives nails through boards, and arm wrestled.

I try to help out everyone I can. I believe my advice will help. No only does it make sense, but I have experienced the difference for myself. I actually have specific, helpful advice, as opposed to the useless jibber-jabber you posted.

I had some shoulder pain. It was only my right shoulder though. This is what I did to improve it: Lay down on your back. You do one arm at a time. Stretch that arm out perpendicular to your body. You could bend at your elbow, lifting your forearm off the ground if fully outstretched is too uncomfortable. Lift the arm a…

If you've been landing on your heal when you strike the ground, you may want to consider striking the ground more-so with the front part of your foot. Your calves will absorb more impact, and reduce the stress on your heal and joints.
-
Land more towards the front of your foot when you strike the ground to make your calves function as shock absorbers.
-
Just land more-so towards the front of your foot to absorb some shock with your calves. This will take some stress off your joints. I wouldn't say it's too late. I'd just take greater care to watch my step, to avoid spraining your ankle or falling. Kicking around a soccer ball is a good way to improve balance, coordination…

Creatine breaks down into creatinine. Creatinine is a toxic waste product that is excreted through urine by your kidneys. Creatinine levels are used to indicate kidney fuction. When you take in a lot more creatine than you would get from a normal diet, you will have more creatinine in your system. This doesn't mean that…

A doorway pull- up bar is great. Variable weight dumbbells with removable plates are good. The ab wheel is another good device. Another thing you could do is get about 20ft of rope from a home improvement store. You can do lots of different things with it, like stepping on it and pulling up, like a dead lift.

Definitely incorporate resistance training in your routine. It will accelerate your results. You may want to wear something tight fitting and breathable, like spandex, under your cloths to keep skin from hanging. I think this will help it tighten up quicker, since gravity won't get to keep stretching it out as much. Also,…

I found the rhythmic pattern, and concentration involved with jumping rope to be a great stress reducer. It be killing my feet and calves though. Also, I have no room to do it inside the house. Might try it in the garage.

The real issue is your grip strength. Start training your grip and wrist strength and nothing will slip out.
-
After they heal up a little, you may want to do some wrist curls to strengthen them.

It's a good opportunity to develop stronger character. Having a sense of humor, and being able to laugh at yourself are powerful tools in dealing with the outside world.

I think doing planks and other core exercises is good. If you are breaking up muscle groups by using machines at the gym, you could be creating an imbalance of strength. Power is transferred through your core. So, to be functionally strong, you need a strong core. The core contains some large muscle groups that burn up…

From what I've seen carb intake goes down for prep. Carbs increase water retention. The diet turns to mostly protein and veg prior to a show. The thing is, they pay meticulous attention to their diet. They weigh out their food. They spend a lot of time and money doing that. That inspires me to pay more attention to my…

I remember I was sitting in on the steps in a hotel stairwell when an employee there came by. He said I couldn't sit there because it's a fire hazard. Outdoor steps, like those found at local stadiums might work. Alternatively, you could find outdoor hills.

I think you need to lose weight before starting to run or you'll damage your joints. Try biking or rollerblading instead, until you drop a few pounds. If weight- loss is your primary objective, your diet is a big factor.

There are other ways to get dietary fat. Extra virgin olive oil, avocados, eggs, flaxeed oil, cheese, and fish oil. The saturated fats in ground beef are not ideal. I mean it's better if you're buying organic meat, but who can afford it? Cows raised on grain to fatten them up, instead of pasture, factory farming, with cows…

I like to be in tune with my body and proceed accordingly. It's good to build the mind muscle connection. Your routine is good. In addition to building strength, you'll build muscular endurance with your set and rep range. I did a workout similar to this. It's in a bodybuilding style. The only thing is, it doesn't transfer…

I wouldn't really consider ground beef clean. Too much fat. I know you can buy it leaner, but still. From what I've watched they eat a lot of skinless, baked, or pan seared chicken, brown rice, cooked vegetables, fish, stuff like that. They motivate me to workout and pay attention to my diet. I eat mostly vegetarian.…
