You're at a healthy weight and have a BMI of 23. Losing weight beyond that is very challenging. You have to be very strict and there can be no slip ups. Your sedentary TDEE is 2,200 calories and you say you're eating 3,600. You also say you're doing cardio three hours a day, but don't say what that means. Are you spending…

When they say a side effect of a medicine is weight gain, what they really mean is a side effect of the medicine is increased appetite. A little pill doesn't have any calories, so its not going to cause weight gain. Yes, medicine can affect your metabolism, but as long as you keep eating the same amount your weight is only…

Yep, unfortunately weight loss and binge drinking just do not mix. The lowest calorie drinks are 100 calories a drink. If you have 8 drinks thats 800 calories, and then calories in food the night out and the next day to nurse the hangover can wipe out modest deficits and leave you at maintenance or even gaining for the…

Even low calorie alcoholic beverages are pretty calorific. A lite beer is 100 calories. A rum and diet coke is about 90 calories. Thats about as low as you can get while imbibing.

Its unlikely that you're burning 550 calories in an hour of exercise at your weight. More like 400-425. To burn 550 calories at your weight in an hour you'd have to be 180-190 beats-per-minute heart pounding in your chest for the entire 60 minutes. I plugged in your stats to https://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc and…

I disagree that logging when you don't have immediate access to nutrition info is hard. The school website probably has nutrition info. Also, its not that difficult to estimate. I've only been at this 5 months, before which I had no idea about general calorie content of food, and now I'm sure that I can guess nutrition…

Where did you get 3,200 calories from? According to tdeecalculator.net your maintenance calories are 2,350. So eating 2,200 calories you're basically eating at maintenance. https://tdeecalculator.net/result.php?s=imperial&g=male&age=55&lbs=243&in=71&act=1.2&f=1 You should eat only 1,850 calories a day to lose a pound a…

Several people have misunderstood me so I want to be clear, you should always do resistance training, it is very important during weight loss to reduce muscle loss. I already said this in my first post so I'm not sure why people are explicitly saying I didn't.

In clinical terms, you want to have a BMI of 18.5 - 25 to be in lower risk groups with respect to heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, and malnourishment. You can determine what weight you should be at to have that BMI with tools like https://tdeecalculator.net Remember these are ranges and you can pick the numbers you…

It is not a bad idea. In fact, this is basically how you have to do it. While in a deficit, a person loses both fat and muscle. You can use resistance training to limit the amount of muscle you lose during the cut, but it impossible to eliminate muscle loss and still lose fat at a decent rate. Cut to your goal weight, then…

I don't eat back my exercise calories either. What I do is look just at the "Totals" row on the Food tab instead of looking at the "Calories Remaining" box.
