Hi LenGray! I wanted to first say congratulations on trying vegetarianism — I’m not surprised you feel great eating this way! It’s a wonderful way to eat for your body, the planet, and animals. Do you usually fix your dad’s meals? What do you think about preparing him some vegetarian meals? Doesn’t have to be every night!…

Hi friend, I’m inspired by your candour in sharing something which is obviously sensitive — courage the brave dream of, to share something like that publicly. You got this! I know you do. In 3 years from now you’ll be 30 and looking back on this time in your life with gratitude for all it’s taught you and how it shaped you…

Howdy folks, After a hiatus spanning a couple of years, I’ve come back to MFP. Would love connect with other expats in Asia. PIAC

Oh my goodness. I love you. That's hilarious! (are you on YouTube? I'm sure I saw a video with your username today!) Anyway, hey @scorpius93, what works for me is drinking a big glass of water as soon as I get home, *immediately* preparing my dinner and then eating it (back when I ate dinner..I intermittent fast now and…

Thought I’d update you all, as I know I always appreciate hearing ‘how things worked out’ when reading threads on various message boards. Mum and I parted ways yesterday morning, and life is getting back to normal. Although we were still together, from the start of the New Year I regained control of calorie tracking and…

There's wisdom in this -- you know, we Facetimed back home to my sister and niece, and mum went on and on about how amazed she was by the buildings, how funny it was to try to cross the road, and talked about some of the landmarks we'd visited. Perhaps she just needs processing time?

You'd have made an excellent point, except that this holiday and destination was my mother's idea. In fact, it was even her idea that we plan nothing in advanced and just 'wing it' once here, hence me scrambling to work out what she wanted for the first few days. To her credit, mum's travelled to developing countries…

Oh, you sweet souls for taking the time to write, each and every one of you. I can't begin to tell you how much it bouys the spirits to have a little external input -- it really does realign perspective. Thank you for your random acts of kindness for a stranger. You're all correct in what you say, of…

HI ladies, just wanted to thank you both tremendously for your replies. It means the world and offers a lots of perspective. :)

Hi Susieq_1994 -- that's not a snarky question at all. :) Soy sauce doesn't have anchovies in it. Mostly it's fermented soy beans, water, salt and wheat. :) Maggi seasoning doesn't contain any animal products -- it's super tasty, but it's probably not as pure as straight soy sauce. Are you thinking of fish sauce? That's…

mash and gravy! YUM! soy milk or almond?

I don't know what the *kitten* it means, who *kitten* knows. That word is *kitten*. ;)

Selfie with Mt Everest. :) You can just see her in the background. I like this photo because I traveled to Tibet solo and I saw one of the greatest natural monuments on the planet...and I never thought I would.

Hey folks, Just want to thank you all for your replies -- they really help. The weird thing about weight loss is that it's part psychological, and I find some of the mind based challenges the hardest. @Hungry_Shopgirl I feel like you and I really are on the same page! You're 100% right! I would never ever dream of judging…

Oooh, I don't know what that is. I will look it up, hopefully it's on YT.

Lady, you're an inspiration! Congratulations. Keep going, the final 10 will be gone before you know it. And check back with progress pics for us. :) <3

Well done @elhamidris! You look absolutely amazing and you can really see a big difference. Also, 4lb could be water weight for all we know, so don't be disappointed! 36lb is an INCREDIBLE achievement. Keep going, you're inspiring people.

This is such a great thread. For me the key was: 1. Pig-headed stubbornness and patience. Don't give up! Not for anything. Especially just because it's slower that you'd like. 2. Get a food scale and really weigh everything -- guaranteed you'll be surprised at portion sizes. 3. Track everything in MFP in advance. I make…

I shoot for 1200 a day, before exercise. To be perfectly honest, I reckon I am skating pretty close to the line and I absolutely have found I am hungry some days. My solution has been similar to what @successgirl1 up above says -- choose really fibrous foods and get plenty of water. :) It's what's worked for me. I do all…

Holy moly. You look great! Congratulations. (I want to see a photo of your wife!)
-
Well done, lady! You're doing brilliantly and look fantastic!!
-
Well done! From beautiful to healthy and beautiful. <3 Inspiration for me -- I'd like to lose 70lb from my start weight too (I'm half way there).

I bought a really cute, non-stretchy sweater size UK12 thinking 'one day this will fit me!' Went home, tried it on. It fit me. I nearly cried. Here's my goofy, chuffed to bits face in the mirror.

Congratulations! You look amazing and the positivity in your attitude is contagious. Can't wait to see the rest of your journey. :)

Join the intermittent fasting group here on MFP. :) I do my IF different from most other folks (from what I've seen). My window is 5am to 12pm -- I like having food before work. :) Oh, and of course you can drink water during a fast! In fact I would recommend using it as a crutch for the first few days as you get used to…

I have been doing body weight training and using resistance bands (generally standing on them to create the resistance) for 14 weeks now and absolutely have seen muscle growth. :) I don't own a single free weight or machine. So, for what it's worth body weight exercises will get you results.

1. Anything with the word "diet" on the label. 2. Animal flesh. :)

<3 <3 <3 After relocating to Asia for work, I haven't seen the love of my life for 6 months -- we're reuniting for an early Christmas holiday at the end of November. He loves lifting (he's Mr Muscles) and has been the most incredibly non-judgmental, unquestioningly supportive, and positive influence on my health and…

Just wanted to thank everyone who is contributing so honestly, compassionately, and authentically to this thread. I have seen bellies that look like mine, and it's so liberating to feel like I'm not alone. I will try my very best to contribute photos to this thread so it benefits other women...just have to be brave enough.…
