I like my figure, boyfriend said it's everything plus I eat like a dude.

@BeeerRunner - that's fantastic! The Dallas half was my first big race, too. Didn't do quite as well as you, though. :)

Soreness yes, pain, I try not to.

I haven't in a while but I find eating a banana before and after runs seems to help and plenty of water. I have been getting cramps when I stop during the middle of a long run (usually at a stop light) to stretch my legs. Butt muscle cramps are no fun.

I got it Monday and started it last night! So far I like it! Those minutes really fly by. Having some pain with the back of my knee so had to take it easy but still a good burn, and fun! I've been looking forward to this since November. lol I enjoyed Insanity and always looking to add a fun/engaging workout in between my…

My current ones in rotation. The New Balance I got for trail running and my old Saucony is really more for cross training.

That's what I'm worried about. I like that the lower drop allows me to feel the ground as I run, for the same reason - form. But upping my mileage and searching for something new, all the shoe places kept suggested very cushioned shoes and that's really when all of my injuries started. I just figured it may just be me…

Pace question - I'm still new at this whole pace training thing. Prior to this I was more focused on mileage and going hard and fast for as long as I can, which wasn't effective for me. My question is - in my training it says to run X number of miles at 9:40 - 10:40 pace. Is that average pace or pace per mile?
-
Shoe question - do you guys find the heel drop makes a difference for your long runs? Helps with fatigue and pain? When I first got into running I went with the most comfortable and lightest running shoes not knowing anything about heel drop until I started running longer than 5 miles. Anyway, I went back and checked the…

Lost 50 lbs when I started running, now I run because I enjoy racing. I have since added other workouts into my routine to tone and build muscle and strength.

@dkabambe, @midwesterner85, and @MNLittleFinn - thanks!

Still working on slowing down my pace for easy and long runs. Also, I was going through my training schedule and came across something towards the end that I don't understand. Can someone explain the red part for me? Not the warmup and cool down but the heck does the 5 X 3 mins supposed to mean?

I do this, but then again I'm also in training so...

I have the Brooks Pure Flow 5 in pink and that blue/purple shade. Love them except for the tongue. I'll post a pic when I can. I gave away quiet a few shoes once I upped my mileage. They were still good but a local group collected sneakers for kids/teens (I have small feet) who couldn't afford gym shoes, and figured they'd…

I agree with Lemon, might wanna check with a doc. I've been running a while and have ran 2 half and currently training for my first full. I'm 5'2" and 105lbs, at my lowest I weighed a solid 98 lbs before I started incorporating more lifting and strength training, but never had any issues with my cycle.

Mostly meso.

Layer up? I know they sell those running baselayer pants, but I tend to just stick with compression or running pants. They usually keep me warm enough and I'm not sweating like crazy once my body warms up.

Sticking with 100 miles again this year. Working on a different training schedule I found on Runners Connect. Weekly mileage is shorter but gradually builds up so I'm not burning myself out, and more interval/strength/speed training.

Good luck on your journey! I have asthma, but more allergy triggered, and I'm a long distance runner. It's possible. :) Like @meritage4 said, don't think I've conquered it but I've managed it pretty well that I rarely need my inhaler. That being said, I met a girl at a recent 5K who just got over her asthma and getting…

Everyone is doing awesome!

Mwahahaha just 2 miles left. No plans to run today, just a workout, but might just do a quick 2 miler to knock it out. Also, anyone have issues with that bend between the food and ankle, in front? I think it might be the tongue of my shoes that's biting into my skin but not sure if it's just me or if this is a problem for…

Shoe question - anyone buy into the heel drop thing? runblogger.com/2010/06/heel-toe-drop-or-offset-what-does-it.html I've tried several different brands and styles within the brand but so far the ones I feel most comfortable running long distance in are my Brooks PureFlow 5 which seems to have gotten poor ratings. They…

Almost at my goal.

lol....oh the stories...

Ah...thank you! I understand it a bit more. I understand heart rates.

Okay, I have a question. There's some running terms I don't quite understand no matter how much I read up on it. Maybe it's a math thing because my brain pretty much checks out when too many numbers are involved. What is "easy", "tempo" and negative split? I do you define your pace for a 5K, half marathon and marathon?

What everyone has already said....lose the dead weight aka boyfriend, cause wow.... You do you, but there's a fine line between encouraging and supportive to well...whatever the hell your boyfriend is being.
