Even when I was nearly morbidly obese I never had an issue with my thighs rubbing or chafing

The only thing you are going to "lose" with Herbalife is your MONEY!

Laughing Cow cheese, milk, eggs, cheese, Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers, and their brand of olive oil nonstick spray. I never buy their produce since it goes back quickly (same problem with Trader Joe's) and their meat is about the same as the local grocery store I go to daily so I don't bother

I worked with a trainer and used machines until I progressed to free weights.

Lift heavy because 2 lb and 5 lb. weights won't do anything for you. I went from being obese for 30 years to cardio for a year, then powerlifting and I'm 59.

My coach writes my programming and my lifts are progressively increasing
-
you're NEVER too old! I started lifting at the age of 57 and became a competitive powerlifter. I'm 59 and I've competed in 8 meets so far. It's never late to start anything if you put your mind to it!

I weigh 151 lbs. and have a poverty bench press of 115 lbs. lol (and I compete  ). There is a competitor in the 63kg weight class that benches over 300 lbs! I did a little research and found out she's been benching over 20 years. It takes many, many years to build up that kind of strength. Most women don't have as…

I was a little nervous at first because I was usually the only female in the free weight area but the powerlifters in my gym were really great. After they realized how heavy I could lift they started asking me to help spot lol. Most of them competed with the same Fed as me so we had a lot in common. It can seem…

Congrats on your first meet ... well done! It's great you did well and enjoyed it as well. I didn't start competing until I was 57 and I only lifted 500 lbs. My 8th meet I lifted 666 lbs. at the age of 59. Time for me to slow down now lol. It's really fun doing the meets and meeting people. Good luck at your next meet!

You look great! I'm one that weighs myself daily. However, I've been bulking for over a year and use it just as a guide to make sure my weight doesn't increase too quickly. I occasionally take selfies and can see a huge difference in how much muscle I've gained over the past few months. My lifts have increased…

I was a cardio bunny for a solid year and was on a 1200 calorie diet for about 2 years. I got interested in powerlifting and have been bulking for 17 months. When I started bulking I was at 1600 calories, then 1800, 2000 and now 2200. Most of the weight I gained was in the first few months, then the weight gain gradually…

I always order the grilled chicken tenders. I think that's about the only entree on the menu that's healthy

My local grocery store has fresh veggies cut for stir fry in the meat dept. It's usually a mixture of peppers, broccoli, snow peas, and onions.
-
It took me 20 months to get to 300 lbs. and after that deadlifting seemed to be even easier lol
-
Thank you. Yes, just needed a total to qualify. I'll probably always do Regionals if I'm doing Raw Nats. When I started with USAPL I made sure all of my gear was IPF approved so I didn't need to spend the extra $$ getting extra gear.
-
Yes, I'll be an M3 lifter for 2019 Raw Nats so I just need a total

I started out using a rowing machine and lost about 20 lbs. I rowed 50-60 minutes/day and loved it so much, I bought one for home. It's now sitting in my living room as I eventually got bored with it and now do 95% lifting and only walk on the treadmill for cardio :-1:
-
Yes! What weight class are you in?
-
Yes it was a sanctioned local meet. The squat and deadlifts were my numbers. I got a 110.2 lb/50kg bench. I thought I had to do a regional meet to qualify? I would do at least 2 meets/year with USAPL since I have to pay a $55 membership fee

I'm 59 and lifting weights was the best thing I've ever done! I'm only 5' and I consume 2200 calories. And that's actually a maintenance diet for me now. Lifting will help increase muscle mass and the more muscle you have the more calories you will burn. Doing 100% cardio is boring and is great for heart health but not as…

I'm only 5' and 59 years old and even 1200 calories would be too low. I would literally be starving myself :-( I was on a 1200 calorie diet (took advice from a "nutritionist") and it nearly destroyed my metabolism and took over a year for my body to recover. Now 2200 calories is about a maintenance diet for me.

Raw Nats M3 and older just need a total. Hopefully I will be in Chicago too in 2019!

I did my first meet with a less popular fed (RPS). The only requirement they had was a singlet. They have no membership fees. The lifters there were awesome and very supportive. I didn't want to spent $$ on personal equipment to find out I hated competing. After that first meet, I joined USAPL and now compete 2x/year with…

Thank you!

Feel free to add me. I'm a competitive powerlifter, competed at my 8th meet in February at the age of 59. My next meet is Regionals in August. All I have to do is get a total and I qualify for Raw Nationals Squat 248 Bench 115 Deadlift 308.6

I'm 59 - feel free to add me
