You probably need a new scale. I used to have a cheap one that would vary by a few pounds. I bought one on Amazon that I've had for a few years and it's exact (my weight is always exactly what the scale says when I do my weigh-ins for my comps and their scales are always calibrated). I keep mine in the same spot

Raw Nationals was such an awesome experience. It was a privilege to lift with world champions. Best of luck to you too!

My Mom passed away a couple of weeks ago and I flew over 3000 miles to get to her funeral. The airline was having issues that night and my flights got canceled. I had to turn around, come back home then fly out again the next day. For 3 straight days, all I did was eat fast food (Wendy's, McDonald's, Chinese food, lots of…

No lol. If I ever have to eat out or go to a party, I eat small, low fat/low carb meals prior. If I overeat, I get back on track the next day and don't fret over it. I recently had to go out of town for 3 days and my flights got all messed up and literally spent hours in airports and was extremely stressed out and ate fast…

Great job! I compete with USAPL too! Have you qualified for Nationals yet? I qualified last year and will try to qualify for 2019 Nationals at Regionals in August

New update again lol since I recently had a birthday and got a DL PR: 59 YO Squat - 235 lbs. (testing my 1 RM tomorrow) Bench - 115 lbs. DL - 300 lbs.

BW is probably being posted since competitions use body weight, not height

I was 55 when I started my weight loss journey in 2014. It took me over a year to lose 53 lbs. And I led a very sedentary lifestyle for 30 years. I started out doing 100% cardio, then slowly added strength training in. Now I do about 95% lifting and minimal cardio. I consume 2200 calories and became a competitive…

I started my weight loss journey at the age of 55. It took me over a year to lose 53 lbs. Looking back I would have changed the way I handled it. I would have started weightlifting immediately instead of focusing mostly on cardio for a full year and would NOT have continued on a 1200 calorie diet for nearly a year as it…

Here are more current photos. I'm not as shredded as when I was 125 lbs. (currently 146 lbs) but I can still see I have gained some significant amount of muscle mass in my traps, triceps and delts

Photo on left is before I started bulking. Photo on right is current photo after bulking since October 2016 and lifting heavy 2x/week and light 2x/week. I just turned 59 years old 2 weeks ago

Left photo: 1200 calories Right photo: 2200 calories You aren't eating enough. I'm 59 years old, my macros are 2200 cal (150gP/60gF/264gC) and I'm only 5'0". You are literally starving yourself! I was in the same boat and stayed pretty much on a 1200 calorie diet for an entire year and it did some serious damage to my…

I occasionally eat Popchips and eat rice cakes daily. I don't recommend "Popcorners". They are THE nastiest things ever lol. I'm not really a fan of chips anyway so I never have issues with eating too many chips.

5' tall and will be 59 years old this week. I'm about 24 lbs. heavier now due to bulking for a year but gained quite a bit of muscle and very strong as a Powerlifter

Did almost 1200 calories exclusively, lost over 50 lbs. in a little over a year, did some serious damage to my metabolism and took me nearly a year to recover. NEVER diet for more than 3-4 months at a time. Take a week or so off then go back to a caloric deficit. I honestly should have sued that "so-called" diet coach who…

It took me over a year. I did it slowly so I wouldn't risk losing a lot of muscle. Biggest mistake I made though was being at a caloric deficit for an entire 12 months because it did some major damage to my metabolism. Took me over a year to recover :-(
-
I actually lost 2 lbs. between Christmas and New Year's. My weight has been fluctuating a lot since then between .5-1.5 lbs
-
I only eat wild caught fish, never farmed. Wild caught salmon is hard to find around here.
-
I rarely get sore any more and I'm old lol. I stretch and walk slowly on the treadmill for 15-20 minutes after my lifting sessions and always stretch before lifting
