I have been very fortunate that my hubby has been 100% supportive of me despite being overweight himself. My weight loss journey began in 2014 and in 2015 I started training to become a powerlifter. He's been supportive with that as well. Maybe once you start losing weight and getting healthier your hubby will want to join…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPiHaz-uviU 271.5 lbsx2 Deadlift volume PR. I'm SOOOO happy with this. I'm hoping deadlifts go well again on Tuesday and I get 280+ for a single then close to 290 the following week. Only 19 days until I step on the platform at Raw Nationals!

I went through 6 trainers before I was able to find someone competent/experienced enough to show me how to properly squat. My current coach took over my training only a couple of weeks out before my first meet. We basically started from scratch and worked with bands. I thought I had hip mobility problems, but I didn't. I…

You can do this! I started my weight loss at the age of 55 and I have 5 children! Start out with small, reasonable goals and you will find it much easier to stick to your weight loss plan! Once I started to see the weight loss, it gave me motivation to continue on my journey. Best of luck to you

Lifting weights got my body fat down to 17% and I was 57 years old. I did very little cardio and ate a very clean diet

I love weight training too! The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn. This was how I was able to lose the last 20 lbs. I was doing very little cardio and mostly strength training

What shoes are you wearing for squats?

I was obese for 30 years and never thought I would be successful in losing weight and was in denial about how huge I really was. After I returned from a vacation in Europe in 2014, my daughter joined a gym and I joined along with her. I really hated exercising and only joined so I could spend more time with her. I was 55…

Your metabolism doesn't change just because you are in menopause, as you age, etc. People tend to gain weight when they get older because they become less active and they lose muscle mass. I started my weight loss journey in my mid-50's and it was actually much easier than when I was in my 20's/30's/40's.

Pic on right, I was not lifting any significant amount of weights and my legs were shredded. I was on a low calorie diet (1200 calories), did some carb cycling and my BF was only 17% which is pretty insane for a 57 year old woman lol!

I started my fitness journey in 2014 at the age of 55. I started out only doing cardio (rowing). It took me over 2 years to lose over 50 lbs. I eventually started lifting weights and that helped with weight/fat loss. I got hooked and became a competitive powerlifter. It was actually easier for me to lose the weight in my…

You can ALL do this!!! I was very sedentary for 30 years and joined a gym with my daughter in 2014 when I was 55 years old. I weighed 166 lbs. then and lost over 50 lbs. by 2016. I got interested in powerlifting and now I'm a competitor. I started out with small goals like only losing 25 lbs. I was seeing results fairly…

I'm 58 years old, 5' tall. It's really hard to compare yourself to someone else. I have a "large" frame. I used to weigh 105 lbs. for years but I looked like I weighed closer to 120 lbs. I was literally starving myself on a 1200 calorie trying to get down to 105 lbs. again. I never looked thin. I went from 166 lbs. to 113…

Mint Chip, Black Cherry, Strawberry, Vanilla Bean, and PB Cup are my favs along with Sea Salt Caramel. I did not really care for Lemon Cake. I hated Chocolate Almond Crunch (hated the "almond extract" flavor). Oatmeal cookie was just okay. I don't care for Pistachios or Red Velvet so didn't bother trying those.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va8cswqtCXo Here's my 286.6 lb/130kgs Deadlift PR. It was a very small PR, only 1.6 lbs. I had so much more in the tank. I had contemplated going to 292lbs. but I needed to make sure I nailed this lift to qualify for Raw Nationals. My meet total was 611.8lbs/277.5kgs and an 11.8 lb. meet PR!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXZ057tYYFc&feature=youtu.be Competed at the USAPL Northeast Regionals last weekend. I went 8/9 (failed my 110lb. bench). I received a gold medal but was the only M2 lifter in my weight class. But that medal did not come easy. I went into that meet in a new weight class AND on very little…

I lost over 50 lbs. and started lifting weights at the age of 56. If I had not started lifting, I'm sure I would have had a lot of excess skin
