It's taken me many, many hours of training with my coach and doing workouts on my own since 2015 to get to where I'm at. I'm very fortunate I have a great coach who is also a powerlifter and has a lot of knowledge and expertise.

Feel free to add me. I started powerlifting in 2015 at the age of 56! I've competed in 5 meets. I have an upcoming USAPL meet in 2 weeks and hopefully will qualify for my first Raw Nationals

58 YO, 5'0", 137lbs. and maintenance cals are between 1600-1800. I'm a powerlifter and lift 4x/week and do minimal cardio

I led a sedentary life for 30 years and finally joined a gym with my daughter in 2014 at the age of 55! I started out only doing cardio and wanted to lose 25 lbs or so. I ended up losing over 50 and started powerlifting! I've competed in 5 meets and getting ready in 2 weeks to do one of the biggest meets for me so far. You…

My ankles used to swell really badly in the summer when the humidity was bad. Since I lost weight, I no longer have that problem
-
I started drinking a gallon/day and now I'm up to 150 oz/day. I'm a powerlifter and do sweat a lot and lift heavy weights. It also keeps my weight down since the meets have weight classes. Not sure if this is true or not but supposedly you can safely drink 1 ounce for every pound you weigh.

I do best with lifting 4x week. I don't really do any cardio other than long walks on my days off or slow walking on the treadmill after lifting. I never suffer from DOMS any longer.

Feel free to add me. I started powerlifting in October 2015 and have competed in 5 meets. I'm currently training for USAPL Regionals next month and hopefully will qualify for Raw Nationals. How long have you been powerlifting?

I lift weights at least 4x/week. Lifting helped me gain muscle and we all know the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn.
-
Currently I lift at a gym 2x/week on my own. Two days a week I work with my Coach/Personal Trainer in person.

I used to eat Ezekiel bread (sesame and cinnamon raisin) when I was doing carb cycling. Never got the sugar rush like you experienced. I haven't eaten that bread in a while because I ate so much I got sick of it lol. I now eat the Trader Joe's "Slims" bagels
-
Is Dave's bread better than Ezekiel bread? I noticed it in the store the other day and was going to buy the Cinnamon Raisin bread

I lift with that Fed but skipped that meet so I can train and go to USAPL Regionals in August and hopefully qualify for Raw Nats. I qualified for RPS Women's Worlds in September, however, I may have to skip that meet if I'm lifting in Raw Nats in October. How did the meet go for you? My coach did the meet on Saturday and…

Whenever I know I'm going out for a special dinner, party, etc. I will eat low carb/low fat/high protein meals earlier in the day. I've celebrated 3 family birthdays and Father's Day dinner this month. I'm surprisingly down 1 lb. this morning after eating a big meal out last night. It was a locally owned restaurant with NO…
