  • Yeah I use to use xanthan gum to make a vanilla concoction of whey/Greek yogurt with vanilla extract, cinnamon, flaxseed, & sugar free raspberries. You've got to beat the hell out of it to remove all the air pockets. Never used casein but would agree with you as I've seen others make rather elaborate fluff/cloud like…
  • Sludge! Whey protein + any nut/legume butter +/- low carb berry +/- fat of choice. Water is optional & for consistency purposes only. Whey can be substituted with yogurt or cottage cheese. End result is some really good tasting substance with an "appetizing" diarrhea like appearance. Invention of your modern day bodybuilder

  • An alternative I use is ground flaxseeds, a few whole eggs, & cooking oil/fat of choice. Makes a decent "pancake". I combine with greek yogurt or cottage cheese often to moisten it up. Flaxseeds are a good fiber source/bulk laxative for keto (roughly zero net carbs based on fiber).
  • Yep, which is why ATP4 does NOT recommend treat to target LDL-C goals; yet clinicians who are not up to dare still treat to target anyways because they can use "clinical judgment". Did anyone even read the guidelines & analyze the changes? They are actually a lot less rigid & by the #s only. This was actually changed right…
  • Yes, that's how therapy is determined; based on benefits vs. risk. A 1.1% risk is nothing & far better than average. Why take something you don't need? Unfortunately, generalizations about the American society are often portrayed as applying to everyone; which is not the case. These guidelines (CPET ATP4) are written by an…
  • Are you lagging in intensity or endurance? Keto is less adapted towards short bursts of intense exercise (HIIT, sprints, powerlifting, etc.) from stored fats being a less immediate fuel source vs. carbohydrates. Barriers to overcome this have mainly focused on using MCTs pre-workout for an immediate fat source...it's worth…
  • "Sludge" was always a staple when traveling...a concoction of whey protein, nut butter or oil, minimal water (for desired consistency), and nuts/seeds/berries etc. (for texture). No cooking required
  • So far so good...undershot protein at about 40-45grams today. I have greatly underestimated the power of butter for GI issues & emulsifying vegetables. I'll give it at least 2 weeks before drawing any conclusions though...labs due in January. Going the vegetable + high fat route since it's more satisfying volume wise.…
  • Alcohol & gasp...."bullet proof coffee" (marketing at its worst...the logic behind it is mind boggling)
  • You guys can believe what you want from whichever rogue medical professional/naturopath/expert opinion you please. Just keep in mind there is no benefit in treating to target LDL-C & your physician is making his/her decision based on benefits being greater than the risks of therapy in lowering mortality from major…
  • I don't think it would be wise to increase protein, more albumin binds with thyroid hormone (free) lowering free T3 & free T4. BUN is running on the high side too. Based on your most current. Pretty difficult to get vitamin D toxicity as conversion can take weeks
  • Free T4 (thyroxine) is slightly above normal Units for Free T3 would help...2.2 ng/mL? serum are very low. Seems like Liothyronine in addition would help if these are indeed the correct units. However, your endocrinologist would be the best fitted person to determine what's best for you. Your values are also dependent on…
  • MAX around 75-80grams/day Yes, long story short, had been busy with paperwork, career, & family stuff
