I would venture to guess that most, if not all of us, on this forum recognize the pain in your post, the frustration, the dash of despair and the plain old pissed off-ness of your current situation. I know I do. Everyone's "why" is different. Here are some of the thoughts that have kept me on track this time: I am getting…

My fave right now is lime cilantro , boneless, skinless thighs. With black beans, a small bit of corn, chopped onion, and green onion. I eat this in a low carb wrap. Love it. Sometimes add pico to it

Hi all! I'm Carmen and I have been visiting your thread often but thought I best interject that I am here ! The running and lifting balance caught my attention today. I m having a hard time with this also so I am glad to know its just not my body. Ive never been an avid runner but I really enjoy it. Signed up for my first…

Walking was my segue way exercise! When I started 75 pounds ago I walked 5 days a week between 8 and 10 miles a day, I was a mad woman! I have since settled into 3 miles during each lunch hour and at least one 10 to 15 mile walk every seven days. I now focus on weight lifting but walking is my fave. Do what you can sustain…

Great one! I closed my diary this week so that I could do the same....when I am feeling back in control of this reality...I am opening it again. Weird mind game but its what I need right now to keep myself in reality. Great way to do yourself a favor BTW!

Your motivation has to be wellness, balance, and self awareness. Constant self talk of ...how bad do I want this. One of the thoughts I saw on MFP early on that resonated with me was: losing weight is hard but being overweight is harder. That and: what we don't change we are choosing. Know this, time is awasting! Start…

I got a little cocky with my bench press....made it off the rack and down to my chest but...that was it. Had to squirm from underneath the bar ....another time I asked to work in on a machine ... and the kid (I am 55 years old and everyone is a kid to me) looked at me and said "shouldn't you be home baking cookies"... to…

Great moment indeed! And that's all it takes....something to spark that inner healthy person wanting out! Enjoy the journey!

Entered a 12k for June 8th a month ago..... sometimes I wake up and go "you entered a 12K for June 8th" and then my heart smiles.

Hard work paying off for sure! You should be proud!

Scale moving at less than 1/2 pound per quarter it seems BUT i put on one of my summer skirts finally and it fits so much better than it did last spring at this time so I know my weight lifting work is changing my body.
-
I use that app and my scale is not so happy! Good work!

The advice above is solid and I would just encourage you to keep trying (once you get the medical advice nailed down). I have a runner inside me somewhere too and she is is not quite there yet....but I just keep trying. Be encouraged! You can do it!!!!!

Some day I am going to walk away from a 30 year career in the insurance industry because I absolutely detest the work.....which is life sucking.... BUT for today, I am relishing that for the past 3 years instead of eating myself into oblivion to ease the stress..... I am powerful and resolved that it shall NOT cause that…

That. Is. Impressive. Hows your grip? Do you use bands or gloves? Once I hit 215 I stalled because of my grip.....

Being an older lady I am pretty much ignored at the gym but whilst setting up for deadlifts one night I had a youngin (who thought he was funny) say "shouldn't you be home baking cookies?" to which I replied..... "shouldn't you be home with a sock on your right hand?" ..... his buddy laughed... he did not. End of…

Self love and respect will take you wherever you see fit to go.....fly girl fly!

Printed the exercise report from MFP using year to date this year and 2018. Sometimes I get discouraged how slow this process is but when I went back and looked at how my weights have increased in my lifts....I felt better.

This is so amazing and wonderful. No matter what happens with this young man's journey...you planted a seed that will not be uprooted, IMO. Just such a great post all around!
