What brand of food scale are you using to weigh the ingredients in your dinner? Are you weighing the powder for the shake mix? Using scoops is often inaccurate, and most manufacturers scoops are 25-50% larger than the label serving suggestion.

The actual problem is that each of those are 'fad diets' when advertised as "eat this way and you'll lose weight no matter how much you eat" Yes, some people have chosen them as a preferred WOE, but most have found them from diet disciples who present them as the magical cure for everything that ails you from obesity to…

1. How much do you weigh, how much do you have to lose? 2. How are you determining that 1200 is an appropriate goal, and how are you ensuring that you're hitting it. 3. Based on your assertion that you're burning 600 calories by walking 5 miles, you weigh over 220 lbs, in which case you should probably be eating more than…

It went from complaining about woo peddling at the workplace to defending woo peddling on MFP. Really sad.

Another one chiming in to say that if you want a fitness watch with smart features get a Garmin. If you want a smart watch with fitness features get an Apple. It really depends on what you want from it. For most people, the Garmin eco system is smart enough, and integrated enough into Apple. If you're not one of those…

1. Research is ongoing 2. For some, fasting improves mental clarity and thus compliance 3. Some of the research suggests that concentrating your eating in a small window boosts TEF, and as a consequence energy level. this is more pronounced in some of the more exotic and less mainstream IF protocols. 24/26/28/30, as are…

Something like an Arby's roast beef classic can vary by as much as 50% of it's listed calories based on the mood of the preparer.

Is the soreness generalized or is there one muscle group that seems more affected? Make sure you're working in a good cooldown as well as a good warmup.

1. How long is "a while" 2. diet is priority #1 if weightloss is your goal- so that's the best way to burn a lot of calories 3. exercise/training/workout sessions should be goal and program based- You most likely feel like it's not enough, because you're "bouncing around" SO!! Take a breath, evaluate how you're eating and…

Just to clarify, when you say "all the way down" do you mean ATG or parallel. You only need to get to parallel, and I know that for SOME beginners, getting all the way down to parallel is something that can take a little bit of work. IF you're going ATG, that's not necessary, although doing 4 or 5 as a warmup/mobility…

As long as you're eating the calories you're earning for the 5 mile walk, I don't see anything extreme. 5 miles is a lot to jump in to, especially at a moderate pace(1-2 hours of your day) but if it fits your schedule.

And percentages, and statistically significant, are two big ways of bringing those lies to bear. For example "20% increase" from what to what.... 0 to 20% is a 20% increase. so is 5-6%. The lie is in the details. There was a study earlier this year that correlated(loosely) states, weights, run times and general fitness…

This can't be stressed enough. Get food grade oils. Not incense or massage grade. Regardless of your opinion on benefits or application. Don't ingest essential oils that haven't been certified for dietary use.

Honestly I think it's the photo and haircut. :) Although, in certain lines of work, grooming and safety go hand in hand.

I understand. I went to the site, they actually don't mention the weight on the dumbbell bars. And given the price difference to go with an oly set, You're probably right to stick with the standard. Also, Kudos for getting the spring lock.
-
Are the dumbbell bars 2 or 5 kilo? they don't look large enough to be 5 kilo. The price seems reasonable(based on the US rule of $1 per lb) I didn't actually do the math, but 40 kilos+10 Kilo bar+2 dumbbell bars.

One more bit of advice. If this is an outdoor type event(heat and sun) expect more than "a slight uptick" due to water weight. You can mitigate some of that with extra hydration and electrolytes, but some of it will simply be unavoidable due to exposure. Don't sweat it. Last summer I got almost a 10 lb bump from being…

Overtraining, underrecovering, and Underfuelling are all possibilities. The differences are fairly easy to identify. If it's underfueling, it will clear up in a couple days of rest and appropriate feeding. If it's underrecovering, it will clear up with a couple weeks of consistent rest patterns and appropriate feeding. if…

Unless you're doing some random unorthodox exercise, the math behind the calorie burns is pretty easy to understand.

Organ meat. Liver, kidney, brains

Have you tried bacon, avocado, cheese, etc?

If you want to be sure if something might have a possible benefit, you can always pull the label info(required by law in most countries) and check examine.com for efficacy and amazon for generics. In your specific case, a diet break is probably best, but for anyone interested in the actual product mentioned... there's a…

You're not going to find a quality wrist based device in your desired price range. I'd suggest looking at the garmin vivoactive 1 for your watch functionality(85-125) and a Wahoo Tickr chest strap HRM puck(40-50)

That's really sad since most responsible vegans and vegetarians despise that film

If you're allowing them calorific beverages, I don't see a substantive difference between milk, chocolate milk, and juice. Although My leaning is to discourage drinking calorific beverages. AKA, let them drink water.

If you can squat correctly, most people don't!! And you don't have access to a gym(with weights) start working on one leg variants of the squat and lunge. as they approximate loaded squat and deadlift/hinge patterning. Correct squat is where your hips pass below your knee. For unloaded squats ATG -all the way down is fine,…

Just seems like an incentive to fast my way into some time off. I wouldn't because that's malingering, but it's still advisable/desirable to plug those holes.

My only question is: "Are you in an environment where she got PTO for going home or did this cost her money?"
