Lots of likes and hugs to everyone! Got in a 12 miler on Sat, and 4 easy on Sun. Was supposed to be 10 on Sat, but I grossly miscalculated my route (a closed trail detour didn't help) so decided to just go for it. I need the practice for those last 2-3 miles anyway for my HM. Conventional wisdom has most training plans…

This.

Yes, yes you did read that correctly. The let out 3 hours early the day before to "beat the storm" and then closed the next day. This is quite the norm for here in the south lol.
-
So as expected, school and my work both closed today. We got 2 inches of snow. 😐 Ok granted temps are in the 20’s so some icy patches. It’s going to be sunny and 40 today later. Good thing it’s my rest day.

Omg. Wow. Don’t even recognize the street. We used to take our burgers and cross over to the beach. Oh and then get a .99 after. Enjoy the day off.

Hello everyone. Treadmill runs all week because of rain - I don't mind running in the rain if it starts while I'm already out. For some reason though, the idea of actually starting in it - I dunno mental block. So 4 on Tues, 7 Wed, and 4ish today. The one good thing about this is the foot/toes feel better, probably because…

@LoveyChar Way to go!!!!!! @Camaramandy648 And you! You rocked those miles too! @mbaker566 16 miles! That's great. And quite the haul! I love Belaga socks too, in fact just got a pair for Valentine's Day, lol. Rest day today. Did my long run on Sat, and a short recovery on Sun. No pain in the ball of the foot (it could be…

Thanks. I did feel better after, not because he "allowed" me to continue running, but because he paid more attention and was more thorough.

@kimlight2 @kgirlhart @shanaber @ContraryMaryMary @autumnblade75 @rheddmobile Thank you all. So I went to my sports med Dr. who treated my calf injury last year ( I called him before I went to make sure he does treat foot issues as well - he does). Anyway they were all kind of surprised by my experience with the podiatrist…
-
Ha this cracked me up. That would be awesome.
-
Oh, I hope you are ok! Dehydrated perhaps? Thanks....Actually am going for a second opinion this afternoon. I'll let you guys know how that goes.
-
So. Not a very good experience at the podiatrist yesterday. Will probably look for someone else. Really did not care for his "bedside" manor. I felt quite dismissed and rushed. He thinks I have 2nd toe capsilitus. Which requires a boot for at least 2 weeks. And custom orthotics. The boot = $200 the orthotic $500. WTH. I…

@LoveyChar Oh I can not wait! Even if we've seen him before! Thankfully husband and I both love him! PS. Good luck on Sunday

@TheMrWobbly Are you in Eastbourne as in England? If so I used to live there, a long long long time ago. Still have very fond memories of it :) As for the pace thing yeah - I was kind of the same way as well with the same pace regardless. Adding in intervals and fartleks have def. helped with that as well as just time on…

Thanks!

I'm really thinking of getting a footpod. I did calibrate the watch before I saved it, but all it does is take your time and distance and divides the final outcome. It doesn't change the lap times and or speeds. I have it on my left wrist, but yes, the arm swings are what counts - I must be really swinging! :D

As expected it was raining this morning (still is), so hopped on the dreadmill. Plan was for 4.5 miles/ Had a warmup walk then set it at 10 min mile and Garmin says I'm doing 7 ish min/miles lol. That is way off even with the "treadmill" setting on the watch. I finished at 4.62 miles per the treadmill, but my watch had me…

Thanks everyone for the race congrats! It was a tough course and, I want to do it again to better my time lol. Call me crazy. @rheddmobile Super going! That sounds even tougher than what I went through. Awesome. @janejellyroll Just wow. Badass. @MegaMooseEsq Great run in those temps. I can’t imagine those temps. Today was…

Race report: Sole Mates 10K Initial weather temps had called for close to 50 at race time, but as the week went by that changed and we were looking at 40 at race time with wind chills. So what I had decided to wear had to go and tights and long sleeves were in, with touque and gloves added in. Grateful again that race time…

I totally agree!

@polskagirl01 Fantastic results! @ContraryMaryMary What a rock star she is  I’ll have a race report from yesterday in a bit...

So we've had some excitement yesterday. Major thunderstorm with tornadoes, heavy rain and wind. Enough that they closed school early. A lot of people lost power, fallen trees, flooding etc. Some still don't have power and high winds today again, and schools are closed. No run today as it was a rest day anyway. The race is…
-
@polskagirl01 Funny you mention that, I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. I don't even have any followers. Like you, they were two girls giving kudos. I just went and looked and now they are no longer in my feed. Hmm. Must be bots. @mbaker566 Gosh looks at those faces! Love them. @TheMrWobbly I do hope you…

Speedwork today followed by some strength training. Getting ready for the 10K + race on Sat. @mbaker566 Wow, good for you! @autumnblade75 Nice set of wheels @kgirlhart @Tramboman Same here - yesterday was perfect and of course my rest day. Lol re wide shoes - yes, I've been wearing Brooks for the last 2 pair, and they are…
-
@shanaber So glad you were able to race! You did so well! And great report. No run today, rest day. I did a 3 mile slow run walk recovery yesterday. Loving this brief spring like weather! However of course back to normal for race day on Sat. Just found out that the supposed 10K is actually 6.5 miles due to the course (have…
-
Oh no, that’s awful. Hope it’s not too bad?
-
Thanks @shanaber I will for sure. You are exactly right.

So many pages behind already. And it’s only the 1st. Lol. Started the month with 11.12 miles. Went more than I was supposed to. But, felt good so why not right. Also was trying fig newtons as fuel instead of chews, and I think they work better for me. Also had a banana before I started. Trial and error. I’m getting there.…

Took a different route this morning, one that is definitely more hilly than usual. Plan called for 3.5 and I thought it would be tough and it was, but I felt good and my time wasn’t bad, which means I’m getting better at the hills! That does it for Jan as it’s rest day tomorrow. Finished with about 121 running miles and…

@noblsheep Glad you and your family are well and not affected. Tough on not being able to run and the boredom. Totally get that. @eleanorhawkins great run! And yes I have the same issue with no leash dogs and long leashes etc. And I have a dog! Who we walk with a leash. Because you know it's the law. I would love to let…
