Same goals as Jan, also training for a HM so don't know how that will change the miles. Main goal to stay injury free!

@LoveyChar Way to go on the run! Race time will be better! @PastorVincent yeah you portably will, lol. Nice work out! @kgirlhart Good to hear about your mom. It can be scary.

@rheddmobile Great race report as usual. Always enjoy them. Way to gut it out, for both of you and well done. It’s inspiring. As for the tights, I love my athleta ones. I have only two but it is enough for here. Multiple wears and washes and they look as new. And warm enough I think. Plus is also they are stylish and have…

@Camaramandy648 Way to go! You did it, how awesome is that! It really is a mental game at times. I’ve been meaning to look at the Hokas..actually due for a new pair so might try them out. I feel like I need more cushion, especially on long runs. @shanaber Thanks for the link, I will check it out!

Great news. Really impressed with how well you are able to keep to you recovery plan
-
Now I really should check out the one here!
-
@quilteryoyo awesome results, way to go!

Well I did the 1-4-4-1 today. It went alright I think. Went easy for the first 5 then picked it up and actually had negative splits for 6-9. But I was glad for and looked forward to the mile 9 cool down/easy. I might have gone too hard. Weather Was nice - 50’s but windy so the wind didn’t make it any easier. Still happy…

Sounds like a lot fun! Congrats to your friend and for your time! I’d like to do it next year! Only trouble is it’s a good 3.5 - 4 hrs away.
-
Lol, that cracked me up. Ok if I’m able, is that better?😂

@rheddmobile I have a couple of "polar" tights as they call them from Athleta - not the cheapest for sure. I received gift cards so was able to get one each year - The quality is great and have been wearing them for a couple years now and still are the same. Fairly warm too. 2 very easy miles on the treadmill and some…

How perfect it that?! All those races you can do!
-
That would have been cool! No, the Christmas decor was not up. They apparently take it down a week into the New Year, so missed it by a couple weeks. I really would love to go during the holidays but it never quite happens. Where do you live? In N.C.?
-
@RunsOnEspresso @kgirlhart I guess I shouldn't complain about 30 min drive! LOL. Nice shoes, did you feel better?
-
Re; Parkrun, we have one in the entire state of NC. And it's 30 minute drive away... Not convenient, but maybe one day I will try it out. Would love it if there was one closer. 5 miles today - 1.5 miles WU/CD and 2 miles of interval speed run. Felt good. Was a little bit warmer at 29F.
-
I was just in Asheville and saw this being advertised... Thought would have been great if it were last weekend when I was there! Good luck!
-
Hope your toe feels better.
-
Omg. I love banana bread. Makes me want to go home and bake one myself :)
-
Me four! I will try it this Sat for my long run...
-
Me four! A big yes.
-
I wish we had more parkruns in my area....
-
A little shy of 7 miles today. Was just sluggish and slow. Ah well. They can't all be great. I made it through in the cold (same temps as yesterday 25/18) and just really couldn't bother making it an even 7. I was done. I agree on the shoes thing...which reminds me to check mine, cause I think they are getting close...
-
Nice to hear from someone who has done them! I did consider the mini cause that is all I want to do..So I might still pencil that one in. @katharmonic I would love to do the Niagara Falls one! I'm Canadian at heart (dual citizen here) and that would certainly be a highlight for me. I've looked at some in Toronto as well..…
-
Ooh I saw that Run Oak Island one too...I believe they have a half as well...I should look into it again. Great luck on the discount! Probably best to do next year?
-
Now that first one sounds like my kind of race. One of the reasons I want to do the Myrtle Beach one in SC. This one is also very big so something to consider as well. Thanks for your input!
-
@mbaker566 Thanks for the input! I hear you about schedules, and speed demon probably loves being involved!
-
It can get stressful for sure and probably something I should think about too! Thanks
-
@janejellyroll Yes. I really did enjoy my last HM, so maybe I will just do that one again. But then again there are some others here locally I want to try. I can't do them all, haha. I wish. @T1DCarnivoreRunner I'll say it again. You are amazing. BTW, have you done one in NC yet? If so which did you do?
-
@PastorVincent Thanks. I channeled your last run in 9F, and thought well this is much warmer than that! As for the races.. makes complete sense to be able to compare times, fitness etc. @polskagirl01 For convenience yes, totally. Why I'm debating doing some of the same ones this year with one or two added ones - like that…
-
I do have a question about races for those that do them.. Do you usually do the same races each year, or do you try to different ones? And based on what... Just curious as I'm planning my schedule.
