If you work with patients, that gives you a reason/opportunity for extra hand washing with WARM water.

Cheesy chips...take "cracker slices" of cheese...microwave on parchment paper. I have remind myself to wait until they are fully cool so I can enjoy the crunch I am craving. Love avocado too...but usually incorporate into breakfast. I was never a big fan until a humanitarian trip to Hondurus where our hosts served it diced…

For anyone who follows farm futures...pork is a glut commodity right now. As a benefit, bacon prices should drop and local groceries in KS have pork roasts at 99 cents a pound. I buy roasts and grind/add personal seasoning/freeze to make awesome pork sausage.

Nope, nope, nope...would only contribute to my type A personality. No scale...food or body for me (I will evaluate my fitness on my strength & how I fit into clothes) and my meal will be tailored to my hunger level. I find scales to be demoralizing (I know this is a personal issue) and I will avoid them at any cost. If I…

I love this thread...it is so much fun reading how each individual comes to identify themselves online...many thanks to the OP for starting the thread.

<she googles "fathead crackers" as she has not eaten a proper meal all day>

OMG...this looks restaurant worthy! Will have to try!

I use erythritol too. It is kinda gritty...and doesn't dissolve well. I use a small hand grinder for my coffee every day...I find that it also makes erythritol granules more likely to taste less gritty in recipes...especially dessert recipes.

I have let family know ahead of time what my current eating regimen is and that I am not willing to participate in contributing to the normal holiday fare (my previous norms...and what the nieces and nephews expect...are cook-less cookies and soft gingerbread cookies). All seem to be fine with my current restrictions as I…

I am a retired eye doctor (that's the idoc part)...the last are simply my initials. Have had this moniker for years.

He is great. I am training him to be a therapy dog. He has a wonderful vocabulary and is learning very quickly. He knows sit, stay, wait, beg, down (lie down), off, shake, high five, give me ten, rollover and cuddle. He can identify and retrieve several toys by name: fox, duck, big bunny. We are working on other skills. He…

OMG...now I have something else to obsess about!!! JK...I'm pretty picky about where my bacon comes from...the hapless pigs may not live the life I would like them to live, but I know it's certainly not as bad as it could be. (this from a born & bred farm girl)

I don't know that there is any "best"/"safe" substitute. On the rare occasion that I prepare a dessert that can be eaten by all, I personally use erythritol which is the same sugar alcohol used in many Adkins products. The most recent recipe I used was this...…

Note that these are a few of the "subjective" findings astute practitioners will look to even before fasting blood sugar, glucose stress tests or other clinical findings to diagnose diabetes.

Congratulations on the huge loss. You have had a significant weight loss and as a result, most likely, a significant hormonal shift. Are you working with your PCM while pursuing this WOE? If not, I suggest you do. If your PCM is not supportive, find one who is.

Yeah...yucky in my experience...but my college aged kid completely loved it! I'm sure it was more a been there/done that experience that he could share with his peer group.

I have been watching news feeds on this...awesome!!!

Deleted as may be offensive to some members.

I go in and out of keto as I am supporting family going thru tough times. If someone has made something healthy (non-processed)...carrots, beans), I may indulge but I limit what I do so it is easy to go back into keto.

No help here as I have always relied on my body to tell me when I am in keto. Will be watching this thread to gain knowledge from the pros.

OUCH!...I would not want to hear this from anyone...are you sure this is the message you want to send yourself? If so, I can think of plenty of other messages to counter this one. No need to take a Stuart Smalley approach, but gosh darn it...that's what I admit I do and remind others to do quite frequently..."I'm good…

Thank you for sharing this. Loved the link and will complete the blank. I love myself enough to do what's right for me.

I'll be trying with almond flour. Haven't made yet...but will post an update tonite...

Hi @phlyn I am doing what you would referred to as a "relaxed" approach. I limit my carbs severely but will not, not, not give up my wine. I drink two+ glasses (8 oz, not 4 oz ) each and every night. This equates to 3-4 servings per day which qualifies me as a "heavy drinker" as I am female. I lose weight...gradually but…

No pics right now, but I'll try to remember to take a few shots next time! I'm not much of a pic taker so I have to remind myself. I now have a post-it on my cupboard door next to my mic & stove to remind me.

Wow...this could be my story! I retired from the military...kept myself in very good shape for a year, then let stresses from being more involved with family and loved ones lead me down the same path you followed. Decided I needed to "take the path less followed" and get back to "living my life" instead of everyone else's.…

Yes...it is awesome!

Dinner was awesome! Thanks all for asking and those offering to travel miles to indulge  I have since moved on to a couple of other chicken dishes. The first is chicken breast stuffed with ham & cheese, then wrapped in bacon...a LC take on chicken cordon bleu. The other is an LC adaptation of a recipe my dad makes.…

Get checked if it lasts. I had severe (as bad as childbirth pain) in my upper right quadrant periodically. I had gone to the ER several times over 20 yrs and was most often given a GI cocktail and sedatives. If my pain eventually subsided, "I was cured". One year, it was so bad that I was worked up for everything...every…
