  • So good to see everyone's pictures :) 5 months. 13.8 kg (about 30 pounds) Starting weight: 79 Current weight: 65.4 Goal weight: 60 or a bit under I'm at a point where the weight loss have slowed down considerably around 0.2 kg a week. But I'm okay with that because I want to enjoy life haha
  • MFP sets a calorie goal that is already in deficit, so for me it's 1500, that's already in deficit by about 300 cal from what I usually burn just by existing, so if I don't exercise at all, I should technically still be losing weight. Now if I exercise I will burn more than usual so MFP allows me to eat some of all of…
  • Wow good job on the maintaining guys!
  • 'Disappointed' yes! That's the word I was looking for for the look people give me when I said I'm just tracking my calories and eating less and moving more. I try to eat more veggies but I try to always eat a variety of things including treats, I also said that it takes months of gradual change and one girl said well i…
  • People only started noticing at the 10 kg mark for me (22 pounds) some people said they noticed something different but not sure what haha they're mostly positive comments or asking how I did it but it made me feel a little bit self conscious like I hesitated to tell people I count calories because i feel like it makes me…
  • Hi! I can only speak from my own experience but Is this your first time on this brand of pill? In my experience and as far as I know there is nothing harmful with skipping your period (skipping the sugar pills on the pack) as your 'period' is not really a period but a withdrawal bleed anyway. Ive had skipped my period for…
  • Definitely! I notice a difference in the way my clothes fit after about two - three weeks before any significant drop in scales and before anyone else noticing
  • I have an Apple Watch (S2) that is waterproof and track all my steps, runs and swims. (Laps, distance, calories) don't think it mornitors heart rate.. I could be wrong but it does give me calories. Apple watches are pricy but it syncs with my iPhone and I'm able to control my music, reminders, email etc as well so I love…
  • Hey OP, don't get discouraged though it's all a learning journey :) I have tried to lose weight for a year, running 5 times a week, and eating healthy but not losing anything (in fact I gained some) it's only after I consulted with a nutritionist friend of mine and joined MFP that I realised I need to tweak a few things in…
  • I keep trying to tell my mother in law that I'm not on a 'diet' this is a lifestyle change that I plan to keep doing. When she cooks for us, she would say ' eat this, you can continue your diet tomorrow' and I'm like ' it's not a diet and I can fit this into my lifestyle' haha and she told me that she thinks I eat too…
  • I'm 5 ft 4, it took me 13 weeks to lose 10kg which is slightly over 20lbs by eating 1500 cal and working out 5-6 times a week. but I was coming down from 79kg, initially I was losing 1 kg a week then it slowed down to 0.5 kg a week, now I'm 69 kg and I'm generally losing 0.2 kg a week, I have reduced my cal intake to 1400…
  • I watched the trailer for it and wasn't really intrigued and I love zombies but this thread makes me want to check it out! Side note: my husband and I usually watch every walking dead season premiere while eating pasta and meat slathered with tomato sauce. It's like our tradition haha
  • So yesterday I was getting coffee at my usual cafe in my apartment block and the girl who was working there came up to me and said " I have to say something, everyday I see you run past this cafe and I have to tell you, you are looking more and more amazing! I keep telling myself I really have to start running" that was…
  • I agree! I can see a huge difference! You are looking hot!
  • Hey I'm from matraville so we are close! I used to live in maroubra and loved running by the beach so beautiful :) but yes it's been hot hot hot
  • I'm from Sydney!
  • 1/2 cup of cottage cheese 1/4 water 5-6 strawberries Some ice A tablespoon of honey or any sweetener you like = cheesecake in a glass, yum!
  • Ive not tried this ice cream but we have sugar free donuts in Aus sweetened with erythritol and stevia and I immediately felt horrible after eating it and had nausea and vomiting as well as terrible stomach pains. I've been using stevia for ages and has always been fine so it must be the erythritol. Not everyone reacts…
  • Morning guys (it's morning here anyway)! Just came across a really great article from an ex- fat shamer, I'm going to post it on the main forum just thought I'd post it here first, it's really eye opening and encouraging http://www.weightymatters.ca/2017/01/a-must-read-guest-posting-apology.html?m=1
  • My trainer told me that you can do cardio with an empty stomach but if you are doing weights, it's recommended to eat something before. I wake up and 6 to go running some days and I would only drink water but if I'm feeling hungry usually I would eat a bit of nuts or cheese and I'll be fine :)
  • The Dash Diet sounds like a well balanced excellent diet that includes all food groups. Libby I'm glad your day is better - life can be so stressful sometimes hey, but you can always vent here :) Jess don't worry a muffin doesn't really make much difference in calories over all. Well done on keeping a good attitude.
  • Hi ladies! Haven't checked in for a while but I have been reading, so good to read your goals and how you are all going :) tonight a couple of friends and I and the husband went out for dinner and while everyone ordered ribs, burgers and fries, I ordered a grilled chicken breast and a side salad (I do indulge from time to…
  • Just want to drop by and say happy new year and welcome to all new friends :) was away on a trip and haven't been posting as much but still reading :)
  • Sydney day 50 :)
  • That makes total sense. But I bet they won't find it a burden. After all your mother is their sister/sister in law? Sometimes you gotta accept help to stay sane :) All the best. How awesome that you are doing nursing.
  • I'm so sorry to read about your circumstances, it must be horrible. I went through a similar thing last year although I had help from my sister (although she was pregnant and understandably can't do much) and my husband, I was working full time and living with my mother who was dying from cancer. My dad was with us too but…
  • Yay for wifi! Get well soon Amanda, stomach bugs are not pleasant. Make sure you are well hydrated Welcome Shannon! My goal today is just to stay in my calorie goal, it's hard when we have lots of treats left over from Christmas and my dad is over staying with us and he doesn't like the 'healthy' food I cook, so I cook a…
