Hi Jess did you mean me? Ahaha yes the office is closed until Th new year so we are forced to give up 3 days of our Annual leave but I don't really mind. Oh Moving is such hard work! And to do it around this time too! Try to get as much help as possible and try not to push yourself too hard, is but you're moving to your…

Merry Christmas everybody! :) hope you are having a wonderful time. Christmas is over for me so I can tell you how it went, on Christmas Eve I went over my calorie budget by 1325 and on Christmas by 163 caused by Christmas Eve dinner and lunch and all the cakes, but they are delicious and I don't regret one bit. My trainer…

Planning to run sprints in the morning before everyone else gets up

Libby, that's a great attitude! Yup, Australia is beautiful you should definitely come here one day :)

Jess, Baby steps are great! And more sustainable :) tracking definitely increases awareness and that is so powerful Iris Germany sounds exciting! I'm a little jealous. My mini goal at the moment is just to stay reasonable during Christmas and to keep my fitness routines. At the same time I'm also trying to just relax and…

Thank you! and great to hear that you managed to be active while pregnant and afterwards, gives me hope. People keep telling me that i'll put on so much weight when i get pregnant and then i'll feel too sick/not enough time to exercise which really discourages me sometimes. It's good to hear that its possible!

Ivy thank you! I'll slowly get around to adding everyone here :)

What a great thread! So positive, thanks for starting it! Iris I agree, I think when you love yourself at whatever size you are is when you start losing weight for yourself and not anyone else but it starts with accepting your body the way it is. Hi everyone, my name is Sunny, I'm a 28 years old Graphic designer in Sydney…

Please, if you are thinking of not doing chemo Pleeaaase reconsider. My mother decided not to have treatment, choosing alternative treatment instead until it was too late. It completely destroyed her body and the thing is statistically her cancer (bowel) had a high chance of survival when caught and treated early, it was…

Wow you are an inspiration

Hey OP I'm experiencing the same thing too! I'm on hormonal birth control and have been trying to lose weight for the past month and a half and have been noticing spotting before the sugar pill period. Now the last time I had bleeding i was under a especially stressful period at work and my doctor said that stress can…

I agree with everybody. I used to hate exercise but then I went through and particularly stressful period and I started running to release some of the frustration. It started as a walk/run thing, I start walking whenever I feel tired or I wasn't enjoying the run anymore, and the amount of time I would run became longer and…

Fantastic! And #armgoals right there

My husband has been supportive and is trying to lose weight himself, he has never complained about the food I cook, he did tell me he thinks counting calories is a little too extreme but is quite understanding when I do it except when I ignore him when I obsessively search for restaurant food calories haha he also…

Congrats on your impending marriage! Yay for similar goals! Hi I'm 28 in Sydney Australia, I'm a digital graphic designer. I've steadily gained weight ever since I got married and when my husband and I started talking about having kids, I weighed myself for the first time in a while and was shocked that I've gained so…

I like snacking, I get the munchies at least twice a day especially working in an office. So I find eating smaller meals and snacking more sustainable. Some of my favs : apple and almond butter, salmon pieces (in spring water) with cherry tomatoes a bit of chilli and herbs and crackers, protein balls (a little high in…

Another thing that could help is snacking but prepare and log your snacks in advance. I find that I get full quite easily but like you I get muchies :) so I actually eat 5 small meals a day, breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea then dinner and maybe if I can fit the calories in dessert :) but they are pre planned…

Hi there, I was like you, I was eating clean every day and running 5-6 times a week, longer and longer distance every time, the longest I've ever ran was 14 km. I didn't weigh myself the 6 months or so I was doing that, when I finally did, I was shocked that not only did I not lose any weight I actually gained about 5 kg…

Wow I lost this thread and just found it again after finding out that you can actually click 'my discussion', thanks everyone for the advice :) first off I have to say that my MIL is not a horrible person hah, she's actually lovely in many ways, you're right, she just may be feeling insecure about her eating choices too,…

5,4" 169, trying to get to 143 initially then eventually to 132 ish we can do this!
-
Great answer! I guess she thinks I'm restricting myself by not eating burgers and fries, but I genuinely would feel better eating vegetables and I have told her so, I guess she just finds it hard to believe.

I think you can be slightly overweight and still be healthy as long as your waist circumference is under 94cm for males and 80cm for females and your blood work is good. This is a good article : http://www.abc.net.au/health/talkinghealth/factbuster/stories/2010/03/04/2836282.htm Note that being slightly overweight but…
