  • I'm back on again. Spent time in the gym and tracking my food. I'm 54, 270lbs, and done with being tired, sore, lazy, and "eating my feelings". I need to stop thinking I'm missing out when others are eating, or what they're eating. Had that issue since I was a kid.
  • Addition: Made it back to the gym that I've been paying monthly fees for. I now have two goals: In the near term, I want to go from 255 today to 240 by the end of this month (May 2018) prior to a family reunion. In the farther-off term, I'd like to be 200 and more fit/built by the end of July 2018 when my second oldest…
  • Back in the saddle, thankful that MFP community keeps on trucking, motivated again, to quote Fred Astaire (I like old movies), "Pick myself up, dust myself off, start all over again!"
  • Also - looking forward to my first air travel since I lost 40 lbs. Prior experiences were uncomfortable (squished between arm rests) and embarrassing (difficulty buckling up - almost needed the extension strap).
  • My NSV from yesterday: Losing weight and working out produced greater agility and strength: Agility to easily climb over our goat paddock fence (gate was frozen to the ground) to heft and hand over three goats, probably 80lbs apiece.
  • Missed my regular workout day due to helping pick up carpet roll. Determined to go early the next morning and I did!
  • Gluten overdose makes me sick. I binged on pizza (four slices - trigger food - haven't eaten that much in one sitting in something like six months). Felt nauseous for two-three hours. Vowed not to do that ever again. I need to see trigger foods like this as just food and portion-control it. I should have had one slice, a…
  • Punched new holes in a belt to cinch it tighter!
  • Agreed. A lot of TMI topics in this category, but they sometimes make life a bit better (less depressed about personal weight and size) when overcoming them...
  • Struggling through consistent running at 5 mph; up to 2 miles on treadmill, adding short 6-7 mph sprints and then fast walking at 4 mph to recover. Looking forward to shedding more pounds so that my endurance picks up so I can run 6-7 mph without stopping for 3 miles (5K goal). Trying not to be a slave to the display (how…
  • I've felt more confident and outgoing lately. Also not feeling so lethargic -- more apt to respond positively to requests to help with physical work.
  • I've had dreams that I binged on food -- I have to make sure my pillow didn't go missing when I wake up...
  • Skipping eating at a potluck while looking forward to working out with my teenage son. We both felt tired and sore, but good about our choices.
  • That I would actually look forward to meeting the owner of a local gym to become a member so I can start adding regular exercise to my journal!
  • Looking forward to that and the other implications: more room in dresser drawers and closet space... My 5-8 year-old kids have found uses for my old big-man clothes: Each kid fits inside a pant leg and pops his head out of the waist... This reminds me of a relay race we did in a block party: we borrowed some clothes from a…
  • Agree on adjustable/folding chairs Not having someone direct you to chairs they prefer you sitting on!
  • Agree! I had to find photos from others that happened to capture me without me knowing...
  • I fit in plastic deck chairs and am not worried that I might break them and land flat on my...ahem. People don't have to squeeze behind me anymore because I can actually scoot myself closer to the table. I'm also feeling the need to be more active. My home office is upstairs and I no longer kick myself for forgetting…
  • I bought new pants in a smaller waist size that fit OK but will look even better as I keep working off the pounds. My wife was even encouraging me to get them as she said, "You are continuing to go down; time to lose the big pants." LOL
  • I forgot to mention the first picture (August 2016) I was around 280 lbs. The second picture taken December 7, 2016, I weighed in at 248 lbs. My goal weight is 200 lbs for a 5' 11" frame. Stretch goal is 180.
  • Here's mine from August 2016 And now in December 2016
  • I stopped knocking stuff (or small kids) over when I turn around or bend over to pick something up. I also stopped delegating to my kids stuff I should do myself (e.g., can you get me X from just over there). I'm no longer looked at as lazy by my wife. I don't hesitate to go up and down stairs to do stuff. I've…
