It warmed up to about -20C, and I grabbed 6 km. Usually I do 5 km and the mental hurdle of one more seems higher than is strictly necessary. I love running outside, despite the weather, so much more interesting. I am a little sad to not be skating, but I set a running goal, so I aim to please. p.s. I pulled the muff thing…

good for you for getting on the treadmill and putting in the work

Update: Team, I forgot my running tights so I just went ahead and ran on the treadmill in my thermal long underwear. Not only was it super flattering at the time, I will be fuchsia until 2 PM. I put in slightly more "distance" -- 6 km. 26 km of 60km goal

Hi! It is frustrating when the scale isn't moving and you are weighing all the things. I was going to recommend the same thing as Dan -- change to sedentary. Even though you are walking to school, school is not active. See if that helps! Good luck. You gots this.

-37C with a warning that 1 minute exposure = frostbite, so I am thinking treadmill today Still stiff from the Saturday volleyball tournament, so I will be sure to warm up slow and smart-like. I have 40 km to put in before the end of the month so am going to try to run more than 5km, but also not take a overly long lunch…

Okay hit the treadmill today. 20/60 km :# :#

so I played in a volleyball tournament yesterday. For the first time in 3 years. I AM SO SORE. run today to try to move that lactic acid around.

Can you run outside and grab a hot shower when you get back? I get the chills after a run in temps like that

Nuun is definitely carbonated. I think you can buy straight electrolytes sans flavour that dissolve into water.

Sorry I didn't attribute our propensity to apologize to the Empire
-
Now that we have all discussed weather at length, I shall teach you to apologize for no reason and then you can be honorary Canadians.

but the wet feet from the puddles! noooooooooooooooooooooooo
-
haha exactly. I cannot handle the heat either.
-
yeah it is all relative -- cold is what you are not used to. I did a run in "-17" in American the other day
-
guys as I Canadian I have had to both look up what 26 F means in real, metric terms, and picked my jaw up off the floor that this is believed to be "cold"

So Saturday when I went for my actually-outside-run (tm) a woman pushing a stroller saw me and derisively said "woah," which I can only imagine was from my giant scarf that I used instead of a scary balaclava which I couldn't find (it was like minus 30). I need to get 9 more 5 km runs in this months to meet my goal! I will…

Hi! I can't find my last post, but my small medical issue has resolved and I hit the pavement again today: 5 km in the minus 27 with the windchill sunshine So that makes me... 15/60 km goal (3 x 5 km runs)
-
Hi! I've found rolling my foot out / stretching calves + achilles to offer some foot pain relief in the past, might be worthwhile!

non-serious medical issue keeping me from running for a few days, but I just signed up for a mother's day 10 km! >>My January goal is 60 km. I'm working towards a 59:59 10 km :D 1/2: Stair climber + beginner core workout (see bodyfit by amy, beginner ab workout on youtube) 1/3: 5 km (treadmill) 1/4: 5 km (treadmill, 31:50)…

Define hurting -- are we talking blister or pain on the inside? If the latter, I am guessing you have a shoe fit issue or are not landing properly.

It is a slushy, sloppy, snowy day. So, I hit the treadmill -- I am so lucky to have a gym in my work complex, and a boss that lets me run at like 1030 in the morning to avoid the January rush. An hour later I remain bright red, sitting in my cube, feeling good. >>My January goal is 60 km. I'm working towards a 59:59 10 km…

Hello! I am new to this thread. It is amazing. I am a former marathon runner (of the 4:45 or so variety), and getting into 10 kms after popping out 2 wee ones. Welcome to add me as a friend, just write something in the request. My goal is 60 km for the month of December 12/1: 5 km (Santa Shuffle pushing a stroller like a…
